Cayde is a mischievous character, cunning and always on alert. Confrontational, he's known for going out of his way to rile others up. Before the Invasion, Cayde was a typical college student. Always out getting drunk and spending the night with his latest lay. He never had a care for the world or paid any attention to the path of destruction he left behind.
Since his "abduction" he has become recklessly angry. He finds it hard to trust anyone, especially Dominick. No one goes out of their way to save random souls. Everyone is selfish in this world and he finds it hard to believe his "Savior" did it out of the goodness of his heart.
Behind his brash and fiery demeanor, he's actually very fearful for the future. He wants to help; wants to know how his family is. One thing Cayde holds above everything else was his family. Being in the dark of their well being is a constant reminder he has no control over his life anymore. If you manage to befriend him, he's loyal to a fault.
Around those he enjoys, he's constantly using dry humor and sarcasm as a way to cheer others up. He is always poking fun at those close to him; harmless jokes that everyone has to roll their eyes at. He's always willing to help a friend in need, knowing help can only go so far in their situations. Still, he would rather take his chances in the outside world than be forced to live inside the "Haven" he found himself in. Cayde is never one to ask for help, always brushing off other's concerns with his well being with a joke or a gruff "I'm fine."
Despite his distant attitude and fiery complex towards others, Cayde has a severe depression problem. A chronic condition that has always ran in his family, he would always use his freedom to indulge in self destructive behaviors. Drinking until he blacked out, smoking a whole pack of cigarettes withing a day, and sleeping with random people were all impulsive decisions. Before the fall of the world, he had taken medication to help with any thoughts of suicide. Now, he only has himself.
