Eye Color: Hazel
Hair Color: Avery's hair is that borderline brown/blonde that everyone calls a dirty blonde. A hairbrush is a not-so-needed accessory in her mind and Avery prefers to let her hair run a little wild. Her hair falls just roughly three inches above her elbows and is mostly full of wavy curls. She's never colored her hair, and always grew up thinking it was more of a hassle to deal with than anything else. However, her mother never let her cut it unless it was interfering. In her mind; it was always interfering. But it was better not to argue about it. Frankly, she's grown to like it.
Bpdy Type: Avery's fear of doctor's offices and hospitals, and anywhere with any kind of physical or mental care, has kept her from making sure she has actually been in good health. Hell, if it didn't hurt, it was fine right? Avery stands at about 5'8" and weighs approximately 150 pounds, which is average for someone her size. For the kind of diet that she has though, she's frankly surprised that she's at a healthy weight.
Tattoos or Piercings:Avery has no tattoos, but has always wanted to get them. As for piercings, she has her ears pierced as well as her naval.
Scars: Avery has plenty of scars, but there's one that stands out the most. There's a deep gash up her right forearm, the scar is just a few shades lighter than her skin tone, and is from what Avery considers a 'freak accident'.
"That's the beauty in it, you feel invincible. Like you can take on the world. You're the writer of your own story."
Avery's ups are mainly brought on by her addiction. However, she'll use anything to get up. And anything to stay up. Of course, she has some limits to the extent of what will get her up. But when Avery is up, she's an easy-going person. She's friendly, outgoing, ready to party, to laugh, to do something crazy, to have a wild adventure at any moment. She's caring, always looking out for people and herself. She particularly loves that she feels like she matters, that she has a reason to be in this world. She's a wild kind of girl, looking for a fun time.
"I'm just a deadbeat anyway."
The downs are killer. Avery's only focus is to find another fix. Whether it means seducing someone, making a trade of some sort, or paying for it when she actually manages to have some money, Avery will not stop. Her withdrawal is violent, and painful. Three days without a fix and Avery's demons rise. If she has to burn a bridge to forget her reality, her fate, she will. If she has to give up something important to her, she will for a fix. Although, Avery attempted to get clean twice. The result clearly not positive.
Growing up in a small 1 bedroom trailer was hard, especially when she was part of a family of four. Avery's parents both chose the lifestyle of living in trailers over living in a home before they had kids. They chose it because it meant it was more affordable and they could travel more. Little did they know that they would have children to raise. In an effort to keep their up-and-go lifestyle, they would often leave Avery and her brother alone for months on end with barely enough money to fend for themselves. This only started when her parents considered Miles, her older brother, to be at a decent age to take care of himself and his sister. However, Miles left home with the intentions of never returning when Avery was eight. Miles was only 12 at the time of his departure, and Avery always saw his leaving as abandoning her. The disappearance of their first son was a sign to Avery's parents that their dreams needed to change.
Upon their return home, they came back to an eight-year-old nearly starving to death. Cleaning up their act, and taking care of Avery started, but only lasted for a few years. By the time that Avery was 15 and dropping out of high-school, her parents were back to traveling the world. Leaving Avery to fend for herself, her parents would only mail her enough money to cover rents and minimal food.
Although desperately searching for some sort of love and support, Avery wasn't off too badly on her own. Being alone forced her to reach out, socialize, which in result gained her friendships. Friendships that lead to gateways. Avery's first relationship came around this time. Her first and only relationship. Not lasting very long, it was during this relationship that Avery was introduced to a whole different side of life. Unfortunately, her relationship ended abruptly when, just like her brother, the guy up and left her. Without a word, a sign, or anything, he was gone from her life completely. This sent Avery into a small period of depression, where her resort was to her newfound friend.
Having a rather strong addiction to Cocaine at the age of 16, Avery found herself desperate for another bump all the time. Whether she had the money or not. She would find a way to get high again. Now, at 18, her addiction is still something she struggles with, on top of being nearly cut off by her parents. On the day of her birthday, she received a letter with a check for rent, and only rent. The letter sent Avery spiraling downhill fast. Her desperate measures for just one more high grew even more desperate, her frequency in need escalated almost exponentially.
Deep down, Avery has the undying desire to get clean, finish school, and start a real life for herself. But with the insufficient funds, lack of mental and moral support, and an addiction that drowns her, Avery isn't headed very far. Having been arrested twice already for possession and theft, Avery's hopes and dreams are walking a tight rope.
