Ella is kind-hearted and always likes to help people. She often tries to hide her emotions for the sake of others, but doesn't always succeed in doing so.
BEFORE THE OUTBREAK
Ella was a straight-A student studying her Bachelor of Communication when the outbreak started. She lived with her family, her mum, her dad and her two younger brothers. She loved going out with her friends and playing sports when she wasn’t studying.
Right before the outbreak, she went on a trip to Miami to catch up with her childhood friend, Fatima.
Ella returned from her trip to find that her family had gotten infected and been executed. With her family gone, she felt broken. Life seemed pointless. When the evacuation was ordered, she stayed in her family home.
Ella thought that she’d lost everything, that she was ready to die. But when one of the infected found her hiding in a neighbour’s garage, she couldn’t give in.
She picked up a crowbar and swung at it. It fell over. Ella stood over it, striking its head again and again until it was an unrecognisable and bloody mess.
Dropping the crowbar, she fell to her knees and cried. She realised that even in this world, she wanted to live. She wiped away her tears and made the decision that she had to forget her old life and learn to be tough in order to make it.
She grabbed her backpack and gathered some supplies. With her crowbar in her hand, she left her old home and didn’t look back.
She learned to handle a gun and how to keep hidden. Now, she was searching for safety in the form of the Boston Quarantine Zone.
