Name: Evelyn Marcelle
Role: The Duke of Baisely Manor
Age: 21
Occupation: Duke of Baisely
Appearance:
Evelyn is very tall and very slim, almost feminine in stature. He is also, however, quite strong, his body lined with muscles, and remarkably graceful. He is the epitome of what humans consider beauty.
Personality: Evelyn has many very different sides to him. The Evelyn that the public sees is soft-spoken, polite, and overwhelming generous. He is eloquent and unassuming, and though he is generally very calm he knows how to have fun at parties. He is always ready to take care of someone, or put them up in his guest rooms if they get a little too drunk and can not make it home.
The Evelyn that his harem sees is quite different, and yet the same. He is still soft-spoken and amiable, but now he is less polite, less proper. He does not hide the sadistic side to his nature, and will sometimes break down into the quiet, haunting laughter of the madman. Perhaps the most wild change is the way he handles women. He is no longer gentle or careful with them. His hands are rough and go where they wish, and when he wants to take a woman to bed, he takes her. And because of his power, they do not object.
Now, the Evelyn that lies within? The true Evelyn, buried beneath the mask of the demon?
We will have to see who learns of that…
Likes: Beauty, being loved, being worshiped, flirting, hunting, stalking, ambushing, poisons, flowers, chemistry, his new face, his harem, parties, being alone, being with other people, sweet foods, savory foods, chocolate, cherries, people who do things only for money
Dislikes: Rainy days, bright sun, thunderstorms, spicy foods, sour foods, bitter foods, exotic fruit, ginger, cake, being drunk, seeing other people drunk (though he hides it well), his demon (he hides that well too)
Fears: That he will lose his beauty and be hated once again. That his demon will grow tired of him and end his life.
Crush: At this point he does not care. He simply wants to be loved.
History: He was cast out on the street as a child, hated for the horrible scarring on his face. He wore cloth bandages while he begged, so that people would not be frightened away by his profile. He came to hate himself, often tearing at the skin on his face to try to make the scars go away, and so making them worse. He drove himself mad with his desperation to be loved, and in his mind being loved became synonymous with being beautiful.
One night, when he was very near death from cold and thirst and hunger, a demon came to him in his sleep. The demon whispered to him, promised him beauty, promised that everyone would love him, if he would give the demon his soul. Evelyn was so mad by then that he did not hesitate for an instant. He agreed.
Almost immediately, the new, beautiful Evelyn was taken in by a noble family visiting London from the countryside. And he was happy with them, until one day he heard them discussing the financial benefits of having him around, talking about him like a sheep. The demon in his mind taunted him with their words. Whispered to him, told him that they did not truly love him. They just wanted the credit for their good deed. The demon’s whispers drove Evelyn berserk.
One night, he killed the entire family: father, mother, older brother, and four sisters: and vanished into the night. He was never pinned with the crime, though wild rumors flew, and to this day people whisper that he is a killer. He was not seen again for almost ten years.
And then he reappeared, moving into the old manor on Baisley Hill. The place had been vacant for years, since its former master had died without an heir. There were misgiving among the cityfolk as to who would be so foolish as to purchase a fallen-down, servant-less manor such as that. But it was not long before they met the overwhelming beauty of Evelyn, and were sucked in by it. In a matter of months, he became the most well-known face, the most well-known name, in all of London, next to the Queen herself.
Of course, there are the scarce few who suspect his involvement in the upsurge in disappearances of young men and women in the city, but none of them can prove it… yet.
