Personality

Lysandros has a quiet sort of power about him. At his strongest, he can silence a room with the wave of his hand, but at other times he is pensive and reluctant to lead. It is this quality that in fact makes him a born leader. Lys can relate to the people, and has enough knowledge of combat and politics to intertwine the two and make for a campaign. Lys, around those he is close with, is soft and caring. He cares deeply for those around him, though he is not loud about it and usually performs small acts to help those around him. It is his subtleties of speech and movement that give him both power and proximity to others. Lysandros has a low, commanding voice and speaks quite eloquently, despite his rather lacking skills in writing. He is able to easily take multiple peoples' ideas and combine them to form plans and schemes.

Many expect Lys to be loud and rambunctious, especially after seeing his wild yet controlled fighting style and the look in his eyes as he kills, but in actuality, Lys is more passive about his actions, except for when he is angry. In his anger, Lysandros has been known to go into a rage and throw things, and it often takes several people to calm him down. He is usually passionate about whatever he is doing, which brightens his flame of fury even more. In his weakest state, Lysandros can become terribly paranoid and anxious, especially in the heat of the moment if he is not keeping a careful watch on his thoughts. Though he is in general a stable person, he has tipping points that can turn him into either a ball of rage or fear.

Lysandros is extremely dedicated to the fight for freedom, and can become so wound up in thoughts and plans that he does not eat or sleep, it is at this point that other people have to force him to do both of these things. He is a patient person, though he hates the feeling of anticipation for battle. He has extreme hatred for some higher ups, and yet has forgiven others, giving him a confusing view on who is right and who is immoral, but he knows that he hates the Queen. His decisions, though, are often backed and designed more for the people he leads than for himself, because he would rather he die in vain if they could be free. He is good at lying to his enemies, and to his friends in extremely serious situations, but he would much rather be honest.

In time he has learned to hide his emotions, so it is often hard for other people to tell what he is feeling or thinking, which can give him the upper hand in negotiations, but can also accidentally push people away. Though he is not quite "sensitive," Lysandros likes to hear what people think, and tries to take well to criticisms. His quiet nature can betray him, or give him command of the room, but it his deep thinking that really guides his actions and leadership, and he is usually respected for that.

Moral Alignment

Chaotic Good

Motivation

To overthrow the Queen and bring peace, real peace, to the lands. ultimately to set a new, free, course for the future.

Fears

Slavery | Lysandros has served enough time as a Gladiator to know the pains and hardships of slavery. He would rather die than be held at the whim of another person, and fears for his own fate when he cannot control his personal destiny. He also fears for the slavery of his lovely sister, knowing that she will be used for her body against her will.
Failure | If he fails as a leader, then many innocents will all have died for naught, and blood will be spilled without reason. There are too many people that depend on him, knowingly or unknowingly. He cannot fail.
Magic | Because Lysandros is unable to do or understand the workings of magic very well, and because he has been hurt by those who use it before, Lys is afraid of the magic ways, especially from those who use it for evil. He had no real protection against it except through his Wall of the forsaken.
The safety of his sister | Callidora is his most cherished person, and he has protected her for a long time. If any harm should come to her, he would be devastated and never forgive himself. she is important to him in this way.

Strengths
Combat | Because of many years of brutal training to become a champion Gladiator, Lysandros is highly skilled in the art of close combat. He can wield many a weapon, though prefers a sword and shield, and he is a strategic fighter, planning out his moves in his head as he goes, as if he is playing a violent game of chess.
Motivation | Lys is skilled in the power of rhetoric. He is able to motivate others and have them listen to him easily because of his commanding stance and voice. He is also very good at connecting with people, making it easy for him to gain trust.
Lying | Should need be, Lysandros is very good at lying and keeping secrets, mainly because he believes it to sometimes be his moral duty as a leader.

Weaknesses
Magic | Because he was never truly exposed to magic, Lys does not have a very firm handle on the subject. He is unable to perform any real spells, and the only enchanted item he has is his Wall of the Forsaken.
Writing | Though his mother taught he and his sister to write, Lysandros never spent enough time on his writing to feel comfortable to do so. He can read proficiently and speak eloquently, but writing is a separate matter altogether.
Fear | Often times in the heat of the moment, Lys becomes very afraid of everything all at once, as if everything is out to get him. This extreme paranoia probably stems from his Gladiator years.

Literacy
Lysandros is lucky that his mother could read and write. She taught Lys and his sister how to speak eloquently, but Callidora was always better suited for writing, and though Lys can write, he would rather that someone more talented would do it for him. Lys does; however, know how to read, and reads any book he can get his hands on so that he can gain more knowledge.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: [Excellent]
Lysandros was trained in the art of the kill beginning at a very young age. He no longer shows hesitation, which is why in the arena he was known as Chaos.
Melee Combat: [Good]
Though he is good at any sort of combat, he finds some melee fights to be distracting and others empowering. He is good one one one, or even one on seven, and the image of fighting with ones comrades has always stood out to him.
Ranged Combat: [Below Average]
Lysandros has never gotten the hang of long range weapons, he would much rather be at the front of the hoard with a sword and a shield, or even his bare fists.
Magic Combat: [Very Poor]
He has never been gifted with the powers of magic, and in fact fears it. H only fights how he knows to fight and if he know he can control what he fights with.
Mounted Combat: [Good]
Thought the arena was mainly on-foot fighting, Lys is quite good at riding a horse and can therefore fight from one. He could probably fight from anything if he had to.

Class Skills

Combat | He was, and still sometimes considers himself to be a Gladiator, and Gladiators are trained to fight. To the death.
Independence | Lysandros has always been able to survive on his own, he has gained skills from other Gladiators and from living without any resources after his "freedom."
Stealth | To lead this Rebellion, Lys has become particularly good at working in secrecy and sneaking around, without leaving any evidence of the Rebellion's existence in his trace.

Spells/Powers

None

Racial Abilities

Adaptive | [Average] Lys has been in many different environments under many different circumstances. Though he can be fearful on the inside, he is usually able to adapt and change to fit his setting, unless he is in one of his more violent moods.
Cunning | [Average] though Lys would rather not lie, he is fairly good at it when he must. he is always careful about his tactics and can usually get the information he wants, but he would rather not be considered tricky.
Diplomacy | [Good] Lysandros is a good speaker, he knows how to weave his words so that others agree with him and his commanding presence is an influence in itself.

Bio/History

To tell the story of this great warrior, one must first learn of the history of his predecessors. The Ettore family was never one of Noble rank or great wealth, but what they did posses was a tenacious sense of spirit. Long ago the family of Ettore fought at the side of the king in many a battle and sailed the Kraken Ocean as tradesmen and pirates, amassing a small wealth, enough to buy a bantam estate in Red Harbor. It was this estate that remained the House Ettore for centuries, and eventually fell into the hands of the second to last son, Antaeus Ettore. The man himself was a great sailor, who had attained more success than any pf his predecessors, and on returning home due to an injury he found that a childhood friend of his, a lovely creature names Sophronia Grivas, had cared for the estate while he had been away. They married soon after, and settled in House Ettore for some time before trouble came their way.

You see the married couple had become merchants in the middle of the city, where Antaus still received trade from his former crew and comrades. They knew many people in the harbor, most liked their charisma and prices, and so the couple began to settle. They encountered many people, but when several of their good friends were dragged away in the night on account of treson, the Ettore couple began to meddle in things that they found unfair. They began attending meetings under the cover of the night, debating politics and the injustice committed daily in the courts and against non-magic users and the poor. They became radicalized, and on one fine autumn day when their son was born, they named him Lysandros, "liberator," in the hopes that he could free the people who needed him most. The years passed on in a blur, the young boy grew quicker than ever, and they welcomed a little girl, Callidora, their "gift of beauty," who adored her brother and Lysandros adored her in return.

At this point in our tale, we turn to the boy himself, Lysandros, or Lyandr as his mother called him, was born a quiet child. His father often told him that he war born a gentlemen, never crying or asking for anything. The boy grew like many during his time, running and playing on the streets with other children who had no bias. He came to love his mother dearly, listening avidly to her stories and paying close attention when she taught him to read. He loved playing out in the sun as much as he loved listening to his mother sing. He learned the ways of the world young, since both of his parents felt that individuality and an education were important, and as a young boy he often helped his father around their shop, meeting with customers and with his father's friends from beyond the sea. When his sister was born, he settled himself immediately as an older brother, protecting her from all harm and loving her dearly. She was always fascinated by his imaginative tales and he loved to hear her laugh.

When Lys was nine and his sister was four, the Riot of Red Harbor took place; and that day will forever be ingrained in Lyandros' memory as the most tragic day of his life. His parents had hidden in the shop before all hell broke loose, but Lys, being the loving son that he was, followed his parents out into the crowd after making sure that his sister was fast asleep and hidden among sacks of rice. He found his parents just in time to have their hands cut off at the wrists and their tongues chopped out of their mouths for treason. The loyalists had found the Ettore family's alliance with a growing Rebellion, and had punished them in what they believed to be a just way. Lysandros screamed for his father and mother, and as the loyalists turned towards him, he knew he had to run. And run he did. He ran back to their shop, thinking that no one could have followed him, packing bags with food as he woke his sister from her fitful sleep. They knocked down the doors. He grabbed Callidora to run. They dragged him by his ankles and tore the young girl from his grasp. He remembers screaming, and then blacking out as a cloth was pressed over his mouth and nose. It would be nearly eleven years until he would see his beloved sister again.

Lys had never been proficient at magic, but ha always wished that he could predict the future to protect his future and that of his sister. He was a nine-summers-old boy at the hands of slave traders, barely recovering from the loss of his parents and the innocence of his sister, and he had no power over anything, not even himself. They dropped him at the arena and left him. He was luck that he received training before the program at the arena was halted, and over time he learned to become a warrior. He made many a friend in the arena, and many an ally, but of course it was often his allies that he killed, and he rose slowly to the top of the chain through his then prominent fear of death and his strong will. He had inherited this will from his father and at the age of fifteen he survived enough to come to a very important realization. This was not right. He had fought through scars and troubles and forgotten who he was while he killed others mercilessly. He faced lions and slaves alike and had killed them all. Killed. They were being taught to slaughter each other for entertainment. He had been whipped and beaten to no end, and the men in charge of him had abused hi with no care for his sanity. When he learned of the fate that many girls like his sister were fated to carry out, he was disgusted and found himself growing to care more for ideas of the Rebellion, just as his parents had. A large party of Nobles came to the arena to watch the slaughter her when he was twenty, and already known as "Chaos" far and wide, one of the best and most hardened gladiators. It was then when he saw her, his beloved sister. They met in secret for many nights, planning escape, while by day she served to please the court and he served to fight brutally to the death. Nearly two summers later, when Lys was twenty two and his sister seventeen, they were smuggled out into the night by a band of rebels and taken to the hidden camp in the hills.

They had escaped a most treacherous fate, and found themselves caught up in schemes and plots of the rebellion, Lys as a weapon and Callidora as warrior with ink, using her skills of writing to forge and fight. Lysandros became emotionally involved in the fight for freedom, he had been abused too much to be quiet any longer, and he fought to protect his sister and her future. He had become so lost and used that he could not see any way out until he found, or was found by, the Rebellion, and he vowed to dedicate his life to the cause, because this was much better than a life of pain. For years he worked to prove his worth, first as an Ettore, then as an enslaved Gladiator, and now as a leader. He earned his title ad his position, and as more and more truths were revealed to him, Lys became more impassioned. This was his true calling, and he knew that to lead the Rebellion would have made his parents eternally proud. He learned the ways of many people, and the workings of many a man, and he has decided to rid his ledger of the red he has spilled on it along with the blood that has been smeared from the body of many a dead man. Though they are in hiding, a storm is brewing, with Lysandros in the lead, once a young boy, a fighter, now a man who holds in his hands the power to destroy the fragile peace of society. He will triumph over his masters like a Gladiator. Fuck them, but mostly fuck the queen.

So begins...
