A Vertigan born of two Vertigan parents, Akasa was promptly dumped into the hands of. Terran orphanage soon after her birth, her parents leaving her nothing behind except for a Vertigan shortsword, staffblade, and a note explaining her heritage.
Akasa was adopted at the age of four, a few days after she had accidentally sent one of the other children to the hospital. Her new father was a self-proclaimed "master warrior" who took odd jobs with mercenary groups, and had adopted the Vertigan child on the grounds of "if she can kill a kid now, she can kill other things when she's older!" After this shaky logic passed, with more than a few rules being bent in the process, Akasa gained a new father. The man named her Ana Stark, using his own last name, and started bringing her on whatever missions he was doing that day.
The man proved to be a fairly adept marksman, and was able to teach Akasa, a Vertigan and not used to guns by nature, how to shoot and how to handle guns. While raising her, he did not once take her onto a battlefield, instead leaving her in the care of friends or otherwise for months at a time. He never told her what exactly his reasons for adopting her were. And he never would, unfortunately.
Now ten years after her adoption and sans kne adopted father, Akasa has set her sights on returning to the home of her original parents, with only the gifts given to her by her blood, her parents, and the man she considered her real father.
