Agent Qahtani is a slender woman of average height and weight and an olive complexion, who typically dresses in tailored dark suits and hijab scarfs that complement the color of her dress shirts. For formal occasions, she dresses in formal abaya. Amira has an oval-shaped face, full lips, round eyes, imperiously arched eyebrows, dark brown hair usually tucked under her hijab, and pleasant features. Though she seems unintimidating and quite approachable, Amira's specialty is interrogation.

History

Amira Qahtani immigrated to America at eight with her parents from Iraq, and was naturalized along with them at twelve, Amira's prowess as a witch was quickly recognized, and she was sent to Newton National Academy for the Magically Gifted, where she was a classmate of Ayasha Ziedins and Lisa Sheahan - Amira was a freshman while Ayasha and Lisa were seniors. After graduation, Amira attended Northwestern University with her nonmagical peers, and afterward, joined the MEA as a Special Agent. She was promoted to Asst. Special Agent in Charge of the MEA Wing City Field office two years ago, and in the wake of the Cameron Fields snafu, was appointed Acting Special Agent in Charge, pending his permanent termination.

Amira's magical specialty is in the area of psychic manipulation. She can sense another's surface thoughts, and in some senses, is an empath - outwardly displayed or strongly charged emotions will also affect her in the same way, whether she wants them to or not. She can adapt and focus psychic energies in battle as an attack, as well as subtly shape them during interrogations, to manipulate the subject at will. These abilities were enhanced while at Newton National, and later during special agent training at the MEA Training Academy.

Amira Qahtani released her psychic energies as well, though instead of taking on an offensive attack, Amira shaped them into a psychic defense against Yuriko's psionic energies, in a sort of shield around herself, Drakus, and the other two MEA agents. She spoke slowly. "I do not... want.. to have... to use... force."

Amira Qahtani was well versed in psionics, and, in fact, overwhelming others with her own was her specialty. Her psionic shield prevented Yuriko from removing Drakus's sword. Yuriko's second set of attacks was met with Amira's all too powerful defense, borne of charging her powers for over five turns as well as her own equal experience in psionic combat; Amira met Yuriko full on, both hands outstretched, projecting the psionic shield - which would continue to protect Drakus as long as he remained fairly close - while attempting to not only meet Yuriko's attempts to overwhelm her, but reciprocate them. forming her energies into a tsunami of sorts, turned back towards the other.

Amira Qahtani didn't have limitless reserves, but she did have plenty of them. She met fire with fire, water with water, only increasing the powers of her psionic energies. Unlike Yuriko's though, hers were focused primarily on defense, and in a smaller area rather than over the entire building. Amplified by Drakus's touch, she did not break. The other two MEA agents aimed their guns at Seno, though they did not fire. Amira continued pressing her defensive psionic energies, speaking slowly, as most of her concentration was on her defense, and it sapped her energy for other things. "You... chose.. to... attack... us.... You.... interfering... with... American... sovereignty. I... am... not... hurting... any... one." Her accent more pronounced now.

Amira Qahtani dropped her attemps to overwhelm Yuriko, for obvious reasons, but she did maintain the shield around herself, Drakus, and the other two, in the event she could use psionics to disrupt other types of attacks. Freed from having to defend against Yuriko's psionics, Amira contacted Ayasha via telepathy, with a sense of great urgency. Reinforcements would be on their way. And as random as it was, Natalie on the other side of the roof made a great tape recorder, if anyone cared later. "We... will... be... leaving....now... Director," Amira got out, and then used a bust of psionic powers in a very powerful attempt to blast the goo and colored spheres away, which would likely be quite successful.

Amira Qahtani nodded shortly to Michael Samuelle, the gesture somewhat sluggish with the exertion Amira had expended in her psionic defenses. "I am sure my superiors will respond appropriately," she said, speaking slowly as she stepped through the door to the stairs, Drakus in tow. "It is not my place to oversee extradition requests, diplomacy, or military operations." She offered a final nod to the Taiyou and Michael before slipping away with Drakus, the other two MEA agents not far behind. Watching for a moment, the four would disappear, teleported via magical means elsewhere.

"I never mentioned anything of the sort," Natalie said, sounding slightly miffed, her pen still rotating in her hand, the arm jutted out from her body at an odd angle. "Unless of course there is an active warrant in your name, which you never mentioned, either forename or surname, though I confess a dearth of familiarity with feline nomenclature." She leaned slightly forward as if to peer closer at Vipteri. "Your accent suggests Central Asia, of Mongol territory. Am I right?"

Amira Qahtani had been given her orders. The sudden teleportation of Amira Qahtani, Stewart Langdon, and three other MEA agents heralded the official presence of the Magical Enforcement Agency in Gambit's Bar. The party of five appeared at the entrance way, all eyes turning towards Drakus Flavaar as Amira approached at a jaunty pace, a pair of magically inhibiting handcuffs in her hand as she made eye contact with Drakus. "Turn around, put your hands behind your head," she said briskly.

Amira Qahtani frowned imperiously, still striding forward. "Do you want to test me?" she said softly, already beginning to gather psychic energies for the purpose of influencing Drakus's mental state. Approaching Drakus, she nodded politely to Cinder but did not stop. "Threatening a federal agent is a crime, you are aware," she said, still holding out the handcuffs. "Now do as I say."

Amira Qahtani jingled the handcuffs in her hand as she stared Drakus down, still focusing her psychic energies with the intent to release them later to influence the man's mind. "Mr. Flavaar is a parolee, and the MEA has made an executive decision to take him in for questioning concerning another incident." She took another step forward. "Do not resist, or we will use force." She nodded toward the three agents and Langdon, who looked somewhat eager at the prospect.

Amira Qahtani shook her head. "I'm sorry, Mr. Flavaar, but it cannot wait," Amira said firmly. "You need to come with us. Ms. Flavaar may accompany you to the MEA office, if that is your wish," she added, out of kindness more than anything. The situation that had presented itself was not one she would have chosen, and she pitied Drakus for the position a politician had put him in. "Now come," she said, releasing her psychic energies which would attempt to calm the minds of those within a general radius, making them a bit more compliant.

"Standard procedure with parolees," Amira said pointedly, as she increased the focus of her psychic energies, directing the bulk of them at Drakus, though others nearby would likely feel the calming, soothing effects. Langdon was there for propriety, and the other three MEA agents, who all had their hands on their weapons, though they were not drawn, were in fact there in the event Drakus tried to run.

Amira Qahtani 's voice lowered as she increased her focus, bending her psychic energies around Drakus's mind, at the edges of it, washing over it, just enough to calm him further, to influence him to be more likely to go calmly and quietly. That was all she needed to do, was get him to the office. Those were her orders. "I'm sorry, but it cannot wait. Both of you may come, but you need to come with us."

Langdon would have responded quite snidely to Drakus's comment, but Amira's calming energies seemed to work even on him, the bastard.

Amira Qahtani narrowed her eyes. Screw the peaceful approach. Drakus wanted a fight? Well he would get one. Amira had tried the nice approach, but Miss Nice Agent was gone. "Idiot," she muttered, suddenly reshaping her psychic energies to escalate towards a full blown pyschic assault intended to incapacitate, as the other three MEA agents had drawn their weapons, Amira stepping calmly forward with only her fingers outstretched.

Amira Qahtani only increased the power and focus of her psychic attack, as she moved forward toward the table, vaguely aware of the other psychic presence in the room - though the MEA Special Agent chose to ignore it for now - as she concentrated her assault, now within arm's reach of the table. A bar was not a particularly large space, and for Amira, it was not a long distance. "I tried being nice," she hissed through her teeth towards the errant parolee, "but it seems you only respond to antagonism!"

Langdon, standing by the counter, watched in amusement, with folded arms, snorting at Drakus's self-evident predicament. Little bastard got himself in this mess. He knew the man wouldn't last long, and he was right. The other three MEA agents fanned out, weapons aimed at Drakus, as they stood between his table and the potential exits, waiting for a signal from Amira... or for Drakus to attack them... before attacking.

Too focused on her psychic warfare, Amira caught the transformation, the movement, the lunge, too late, and staggered backward with a cry of pain as the wolf's incisors sliced deeply into her weapon arm - the one she used for focusing psionics, for casting, for swordfighting, and for shooting - her right arm now hanging limply by her side. Her focus slipped.

Instead, Amira drew her magically altered gun in her off-hand - a stupid idea - and the other three MEA agents began shooting at Drakus in wolf form, one shooting an enchanted bullet with a frost enchantment. One of their own had been attacked, and they would no longer stand passively. Langdon laughed. They aimed to incapacitate.

Amira Qahtani dropped the gun, instead throwing herself, aided by psionic manipulation, between Drakus and Stewart Langdon - the latter letting out a muffled scream that vaguely resembled a teenage girl attacked by a spider - resulting in Langdon tumbling to the ground beneath Amira's weight, as she took another bite from Drakus, this time to her side - with the movement, dropping over Langdon - who swore viciously under his breath - yelping as she fell onto her bleeding arm. Psychic? Yes. Healer? Most adamantly no!

Two MEA agents stopped firing, one taking out his wand as he began to mutter a spell; the third agent cocked his gun, aiming for one of Drakus's legs.

The agent with the wand released his spell, a stunning spell, at the same time the third agent used magic to release a tranquilizer dart towards the rear of the wolf. Inside was Aschen grade thorazine, chlopromazine hydrochloride, which would, of course, tranquilize Drakus if it hit him. Obviously, these two agents were not in good communication with one another, nor with their companion, who refused to put down his damn gun in favor of a wand or sword.

Amira Qahtani slid herself off Langdon with a whimper - while the latter coughed, swearing loudly so that everyone could hear multiple f-bombs, glaring at Amira as if it were her fault for falling on him - and used her left arm to grab onto the nearest table for leverage, rising slowly, obviously in pain as she did so.

The three agents rushed out to where Drakus lay, one of them attempting a spell that would force a shift back into human form, while a second stood by with the magically inhibiting handcuffs, and the third had his wand aimed at the incapacitated wolf. Langdon watched with undisguised enthusiasm. Amira took a few steps, and then doubled over, clearly unstable.

Amira Qahtani and the other MEA agents disappeared with an unconscious Drakus in tow. Mission accomplished, though Amira mused it could have been decidedly more peaceful.
