Anado is a light-hearted youth from a distant land skilled in an odd form of magic.
Anado is often a very light-hearted character. Though he almost always fights for what he feels is justified, the young warrior is often mischievous. Anado believes that a journey is a wonderful experience to be enjoyed, even when the situation looks grim. He is the kind of person who still tries to lift people's spirits when they face the grimacing maw of death. He is far from shy and some even think him quite audacious. However, when a situation is serious, even if he does not act like it, Anado always takes the time to consider the dangers of what he faces and prepare.
Anado carries no physical weapons or major tools. However, with his style of magic, he has certain "spiritual weapons," that form out of almost no energy. These weapons draw their form from his heart. Most commonly, Anado uses a weapon somewhat like a long, thin dagger. The blade, only slightly larger than a foot, is connected to a simple-rounded handle. The entire weapon glows slightly and is transparent to the point where it looks like you might just be able to see through it if you look hard enough. The blade is a smooth gold color mixed in places with aimless veins of texture.
While the sword may not be entirely physical, it can be made to block attacks. Instead of blocking an attack physically, like a sword clashing with a sword, the weapon blocks the force of an attack. The effect is nearly identical, except for the fact that certain blows, for example, a fireball, that could not be blocked by a normal weapon, can be held off entirely instead of rushing past where it does not meet with the blade. However, blocking this way can often require much effort. When it strikes, the mystical blade does not rip or tear like most weapons. Instead, it attacks the connection between consciousness and body where it hits, as well as dispelling a great deal of energy in the process, much like a very powerful poison. The blade simply moves through where it would strike, or, for a stronger affect, be held through where it appears to hit. This makes the weapon extremely difficult to kill with, but easier than a regular blade to knock out any normal opponent. As for the rest of combat, the blade works much the same as any other. It must still be drawn from its invisible place at Anado's side into the physical world, and can still be struck as if it were steel.
Beginning
Anado was discovered in the forest alone as a small child in the forest by a scouting party from a nearby village. Not knowing what else to do, they took him to the local sage, who lived a little bit apart from the rest of the village, who, sensing a strange power in the child took him in. Ever since anyone could remember, Anado had the power to talk to animals, and was often seen with his squirrel-friend Geki.
Origin of Heroism
Anado travels from a small village in a forest valley. There he was well-respected and was often sent on missions to learn about the happenings of the forest from the local animals, being the only one who could speak with them. It was on one of these missions he caught word of a great threat which was later verified by two returning scouts. The forest was in danger from some kind of monster. He quickly rushed to the local sage, Donoma, who he thought of as his only family. There, with the help of his companion, Geki the impatient and often grumpy squirrel, the three of them developed a plan of action. Anado and Geki set out for Cora Silvae the legendary ancient heart of the forest. The duo find a clearing in the center of the forest surrounded by two half-spheres of translucent energy, one gold, one light blue. Anado is permitted to enter alone by a mysterious voice. Once inside, he meets a mysterious warrior-looking spirit a similar color as the blue energy. The spirit seems to know Anado and speaks words to him that he cannot hear yet some part of him understands. After a confusing dialogue, the spirit helps Anado by unlocking a great deal of his powers so that he may help to stop the monster that threatens his village. Anado quickly leaves and races towards the reported siting of the monster. What he finds shocks him. It is a gigantic pool of some strange poison growing slowly from the center. Acting on some instinct, Anado activates something that causes a widely-spaced web of white energy to spread from his feet. Where the liquid poison met this web, it was purified into smoke then air, and life energy began to flow back into the ground underneath. As Anado approached the last dwindling puddle of what was once a mighty toxic lake, something shifted. Suddenly, some kind of serpent larger any normal snake sprang out, striking at Anado. Driven mystically by a similar instinct, Anado sidestepped the strike with inhuman speed and, in one fluid motion, drew his knife that had not existed a moment ago and stabbed the creature in the neck at the place where he had just stood. With this finishing blow, the creature disappeared into smoke with the rest of his poison, purified.
Later
For a certain time, Anado refined his skills until it became less of just an instinct. Once he had prepared, he set off for a temporary journey, knowing that the forest was secure for the moment, into the neighboring lands with his companion Geki.
Entrance
After about a week, Anado had become quite lost. He could have asked some of the creatures for directions, but he did not really mind. So, it was much to his surprise when he found a strange wooden shack in the middle of a forest. Curious, he ventured inside, only to find a relatively empty room containing little more than a wooden bench, a table and another door. He stepped through the door and found himself in a whole new world...
