Aurora Akumi Akatsuki's Story

Verror suddenly felt the room's temperature drop, making him even colder. Luckily this seemed to subside, and no-one had noticed he was warming has hands with his own fire. Either that or the just didn't care. It seemed like this kind of thing was normal here anyway.

Unfortunately his few minutes of peace and quiet was cut short when the patron who had just entered, the one in the white armour, started shouting threats toward the government, before standing up and summoning an ice spear and what looked like blue fire.

Things were starting to look dangerous, and Verror risked a cautious glance at some of the patrons he'd met earlier, particularly the kitsune and the wolf-man, as they had both drawn weapons. To him, it seemed like they might be more inclined to start a fight, and while he generally wanted to avoid such an occurrence outside of a controlled arena, his hand reached back and instinctively grasped the handle of his sword, as he partially got up from his seat, ready to spring out of the way of an attack.

He looked worryingly at the metal man playing the ukelele, since it seemed he worked here. Hopefully he would catch his attention, and maybe he had an idea to resolve the conflict without anyone fighting or, at least, anyone getting hurt.

Drek'thul stood, stretching claw-like fingers his hand reaching slowly for the hilt of his sword behind his back. He looked over at the suited creature, "just calm down. nobody needs to get hurt." he said slowly with caution in his voice. his sword, he knew, was too large to be swinging fully in the room without hurting someone else than the intended target. one of his large ears twitched as listened to the breathing in the room. he lowered his hand and clenched he sharp armored fingers into fists, if i rush him Drek'thul thought to himself, we might be able to stop him without majorly injuring someone. but if it comes to a fight, there will be blood on the floor, that's for sure. he looked from the ice creature in the suit to the small fox human lady and a few other patrons in the room. and poised to fight.

Aurora looked up at the boy with a quiet chuckle. "Yes it is.... Don't worry, I'm still working on controlling it." She smiled with no emotion, her ears pricked and tail twitched. She sighed and looked around effortlessly, looking for no one special.

Ico-Kai glared angrily at the patrons in the bar. now this wolf creature was butting in? he turned the spear of ice towards the wolf creature. he knew he was going to have trouble taking down it if it came to a fight. (i completely feel like agent smith from the matrix right now... bla bla bla mister anderson lol) "i do not fear death." he spat. as he talked ice curled up and around his suit and hardened into a protective armor. his voice was lowered, more sinister with a slight echo as it vibrated through the ice, "Death is as inevitable as is the the morning frost." the temp in the room lowered again as his power built up. "by sundown there will be blood. then may the Night Mother grant you eternal peace." he whispered, then hurled the spear at the spear at the giant wolf creature.

"Alone in hell", "The government will burn for it", "I do not fear death".

What pretentious dialogue. Jakob didn't much care, even though he could relate. Though dressed rather sharply, he was merely a patron like the rest of them. He continued to strum his ukulele. 'Course, Jakob did have the short plasma lever-action scattergun stored in his torso in case anything hit the fan.

"Death is as inevitable as is the morning frost."

Finally, he glanced up from his instrument. Though he still played with machine precision. The mechanisms that covered where his eyes would've been scanned the man who had encased himself in ice armour. Though tough, ice was brittle. There could never be a more nearly perfect example of non-flexible material. In order to maintain mobility, the armour could never be perfect. The same could be said to Jakob's exoskeleton, but the android's armour plating was certainly tougher than ice.

Fighting wasn't in his current directive, however. He left a good portion of his armour back at the safe house.

"Hey man, if you're gonna fight about it, might as well bring it outside... or at least move some tables. Mahogany ain't cheap," his deep, metallic voice was betrayed by the delivery- which was professional, with the hint of a tone not unlike The Dude.

But then the spear was thrown. Not at Jakob, thankfully. If it had been thrown at Jakob, he'd have sprung into action. Instead, it was being thrown at the large wolf... whatever it was.

Verror jumped a little from the telepathic message. While he was not unfamiliar to the concept, actually receiving one was new to him. It seemed to have come from the kitsune, who was now attempting diplomacy with the armoured figure. The wolf mercenary also tried to calm the patron down, and the ukulele player tried to at least move the fight somewhere else, but unfortunately none of this seemed to work. The figure threw his ice spear at the wolf-man.

He wasn't sure how the mercenary would react, but it didn't look like he had time to help. Instead, rather than draw his weapon, he attempted to charge at the fighter, trying to push him more than actually attack. Maybe if he got him near enough to the exit, or even one of the gateways scattered throughout the bar, he might be able to get him out of the building and move the fight somewhere where less people would get hurt.

Unfortunately, the cold aura emanating from the armoured man would most likely weaken Verror if he actually made contact so it was kind of a risk.

Drek'thul batted the spear out of the air with a giant hand, shattering it, then charged the small (to him) creature who was now protected by a layer of ice. he threw a mighty fist at the creature, cracking the ice armor, and breaking a few bones in his hand. swearing, he drew a knife (to normal sized beings it's probably the size of a small sword) and slashed it at the creature.

Ico-Kai braced himself for the impact of the creature that charged him. the first blow it landed it cracked his armor. he silently cursed and backed up repairing the fracture point as the creature drew a large sword like knife. it slashed at him with deadly speed which he deflected with his armored wrist. he fired a frozen blast of energy towards the wolf creature.

Drek'thul noticed the small fox-lady moving closer to him with a flaming whip, "hey why are you going after me? i didn't start this mess. but i'll sure as hell finish it." he said and then with that, he pulled a large cannon from over his shoulder, which wrapped itself around his forearm and blasted a bright orange beam toward the ice man blasting him out the door. he jacked out the battery and replaced it with another nuclear jell battery then got off the ground and stood up, his cannon like gun humming lightly, "it's people like him that piss me off." he said with a hint of annoyance, then shouldered the cannon on his back and sat back down on a nearby stool to wait.

Verror jumped back even more when the wolf-man fired some kind of energy projectile at the opponent. "I thought we were trying to do as little damage as possible." he said, shaking his head and trying not to look at the tables for fear of what state they might be in after that attack.

At the same time, a strange looking man walked in, although he seemed more familiar to Verror as he wore more traditional looking armour, and was probably from a similar genre world.

"Yes, a fight. I don't think it's over yet though." he replied to the new arrival, before walking just out of the main entrance, eying the street outside for any sign of the opponent. He drew his great-sword.

Verror nodded in approval at the greataxe. "It's nice to see a normal weapon without any fancy enchantments or laser cannons. Not many people have an appreciation for the classics." He looked out of the door, but didn't see anyone in the street. he listened as the barbarian expressed his dislike of elves.

"Well, I think that might be a little bit offensive." he continued, to the stickman. "...But, yes, elves can be a bit pretentious. It looks like he's gone for now anyway."

It was at this point that the Kitsune introduced herself as Sakura, and the mercenary gave the name Drek'thul. "My name's Verror." he said, sheathing his greatsword and greeting the other two formally. "Pleasure to meet you." While he waited for any other responses, he watched Drek'thul healing himself with a mysterious orb. "Huh."

Verror nodded in agreement with the Barbarian. For the most part, anyway. He was not a huge fan of flashy weapons and armor, but as long as it was effective it could have as many things attached as the user liked as far as he was concerned. He just didn't think it was necessary. All you needed in his view was a big, sharp piece of metal.

He couldn't help but overhear the conversation going on, since he had automatically tuned in once the subject had changed to dragons. He walked over to the two.

"I wouldn't call a dragon 'small', Especially if it's their leader. The powerful ones or the ones in charge can be colossal sometimes." he said to them, "My village was attacked by one just over five years ago. We managed to fend it off though. If you need help, I'm happy to offer assistance."
