Eianicith

Bipedal scorpion man and the only worshippor of the god Iquatha

0 · 1,070 views · located in Side Alley

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Patcharoo

Description

Standing on two narrow legs, Eianicith is top heavy with a plated exterior. He sports two arms that end in large, dangerous claws and a tail ending in a stinger. His jaw is oddly shaped, as it is not meant for chewing in the traditional way humans do. He is black of colour.

Essentially this.

So begins...

The scorpion turned about, claws snapping at the air and letting out a hiss. "Mortal thing," came the raspy voice of the beast, "Your flesh will taste as delicious as my inherent superiority." In no time the scorpion strode forward, claws held wide, which apparently left their chest open. Each claw was also open.

The first claw would jab forward sharply, aiming to grip Darwin and jerk him back to the scorpion, who's tail flipped to that side, ready to strike when the opportunity presented itself.

Eianicith let out a low hiss. How he loathed these lowly creatures, but he had to put up with it. He needed them. "We are close," they hissed, "Tread light, if you can. We are above the nest of a giant scorpion which is the nearest land mark to the tomb." All the landmarks were hidden under the ground, making it impossible for surface dwellers to find. Eianicith had literally stumbled upon the tomb by sheer luck.

"We will travel another mile, maybe a mile and a half," they hissed, "Before we must begin digging."

The tomb was dark and cold, despite the heat over head. The stone was unwelcoming and ancient. The hall up ahead seemed to lead to a room with a glowing orb on a podium. Skeletons lay neatly in the nearby corner. The corridor itself seemed suspicious, magic shrouding it and stones looking loose. Eainicith hissed lowly, eyes watching for any tricks. "This way," he hissed.

The scorpion sniffed at the corridor, then stepped to the side. "I insist," he hissed. It was obvious the floor was trapped, but this one had a rather cruel trap. Should someone step onto the wrong tile, marked by the symbol of a scorpion ironically, the entire floor would give way, plunging them into a deep abyss of dune wurms, assuming the wurms still lived.

Eianicith turned their head about. "It was an ancient people who used the tomb as a guarding place for their most treasured dead and relics. The god eater was one such, both such, a great weapon of war. I do not know how they were defeated," admitted the scorpion.

Three doors were presented, the first with an image of a sphinx, the second with a picture of a skeletal shape and the third with an image of an axe blade.

Lurking about a junkyard was a skulking figure, black of skin and hard to touch. The scorpion man had seen better days, days where he didn't have to scavenge for food in a dump, but he would not complain. Things would work out for him in the end. Surely. They had to. With a flick of his claw he knocked over some trash, hissing at the air before digging deeper to hunt for a morsel he was sure he could smell.

Eyes opened at the sound of approaching hooves, yellow eyes set into a black skull. The scorpion-thing rose up onto its two legs to stare at the creature and rider. The sand was too hot for it now and there was too much noise to rest. It's lower jaw snapped against its upper an their tail swung behind them.

"Man-thing approaches," they hissed to themself. "I need guidance, my lord."

It was the same every time. They asked for guidance from their god and none was given. But they would continue to pray. Their god would bring them salvation someday.

A hissing noise came from the creature, as if it exhaled around an unseen tongue. "I can hear you, man-thing. The presence of your weak flesh insults Him and His lands." Their voice was much lower, not a shout but normal conversation level. It was likely they couldn't be heard. But slowly they crawled forth, starting off leaning on their claws before slowly rising to two legs. Their flesh was jet black, making them stand out and they only had two legs and two claws, no hands or extra limbs.

"What are you doing here, man-thing."

"All man-things are weak, be they wo-man or elf-man," he hissed in his raspy voice. "It is in your nature to be so, your skeleton buried too deeply within your flesh to shield you." The strange hissing came again before they spoke once more, head turning to the side to stare into the desert.

"Eianicith," they rasped, head snapping back to Nova, "Child of Iquatha. What be your name, man-thing? If you are to treat His lands His people would like to know your name." There was a slight clicking noise as their claws tapped together three times.

The Scorpion narrowed his eyes for a moment, as if examining Nova, before once more shooting a glance down the desert. "Why have you come here? These lands and all lands like them are His. I am a protector of them." However they meant to say it, it came out wrong. Their voice sounded as though they were trying to convince themselves.

Eianicith raised one claw to gesture to her hand. "What is this, the flesh-thing ritual of introduction?" They opened their claw. "No man-things came through these parts. I guard these parts." They seemed to be repeating themself a bit. "Hate most flesh-creatures. Anything not of the desert is not of His kin."

There was a quite out of place figure skulking around. Not matching the colours of their more foresty of cousins, Eainicith stood out with their black flesh against the foliage and bark of the trees and the grey and white stones of the ruins. They hissed about, but suddenly straightened at the sound of another being nearby.

A low hiss came from their jaw. "Someone is there," he accused at the air, sweeping around, "They should show themself for His judgement."

The scorpion-like figure skulked from their corner, hissing strangely at the man. "A pithy man-thing contemplates things they do not understand." While Eianicith remained oblivious to what Avaraen may have been thinking of, they didn't have much of opinion of man. They figured anything a man could think of they couldn't understand.

"What brings man-thing to the forest?" he hissed, keeping a safe distance away.

"The man-thing speaks boldly for one so weak of flesh," spoke the scorpion, turning their head away to examine a distant object, before it snapped back towards them with a hiss. "What does it know of me?" Eianicith began to slowly circle the man, which may have seemed a very predatorial gesture, but in truth the Zodiac was just strange.

"Fleshling speaks so brave, but will the stand in the desert and the heat and the sun, or will their empires be turned to sand?" Another low hiss. He stalked forward three steps before stopping. "Your magic and the strength you speak of are nothing to the endless sap the desert inflicts on all life."

The scorpion hissed at the wind, pushing though it to stand nearer the man when he landed. "You know nothing of the desert, man thing living in his green paradise lands. Have you ever seen sand?"

"You are weak, a coddled species," the scorpion rambled, "Only those who can stand in His eyes are truly strong. You must first be the ultimate creature before you deserve paradise."
