Description

Image

(Supplementary concept art for Erika. No official art for Erika exists!)
Erika is a blessed with a lithe, bottom-heavy body build. Her hips and legs, in particular, are disproportionately large compared to the rest of her body. This is not simply a case of fortune, her large and muscular legs allowing her to easily jump to unprecedented heights. Her white skin is perpetually slick, sporting a rather unpleasant slimy feeling to the touch and appearing rather shiny by appearance. She has freckles of various shades covering her entire body, giving her skin tone a somewhat patchy appearance.

Erika has a very big mouth, literally. In fact, one might say it looks a tad freaky. Whereas a normal human's mouth might be twice the width of their nose at full stretch, Erika's mouth pushes the limits of its frame (her face). When she grins she can almost literally grin nearly ear to ear, a cheshire grin for the books. The Irises of Erika's eyes are also unusually large compared to a human's, leaving less Sclera (White space) visible. Her pupils are also larger and slitted, affording her excellent night vision. Her hair, much like her skin, is perpetually slick. It is only with the aid of various gels that it ever stays up. Erika stands at about five feet eleven inches (180.34 cm), weighs about 235 pounds, has deep sea blue eyes and hazelnut brown hair.

Basic Info
  • Full Name: Erika Onzanem
  • Age: Immortal, appearing to be 18-20'ish
  • Sex: Female
  • Species: Human/Frog
  • Sub Species: Dark Celestial
  • Titles/Nicknames: "Lady Erika" "Lady Onzanem"
  • Sexual Orientation: Bisexual
  • Occupation: Artificier / Student of Magic

Personality
Erika is a rather nonchalant, level-headed individual, who places her dignity and independence at the top of her priorities. She has an obsession with magic, particularly magical artifacts which she seeks out to study for the purposes of creating her own. To this end she keeps a collection of magical doodads, some more practically useful than others, as well as a substantial library of books on all topics magic. Erika holds a very hostile disposition towards light magic and light celestial beings in part because of her devastating weakness to light magic, but also because of old grudges over her and her ancestors damnation. She often thinks of herself as a soldier, working to seek revenge for her mistreatment at the hands of a cruel and uncaring god. Despite this fact, Erika rarely chooses to fight of her own will as she finds most mortal conflict pointless. She prefers talking her way out of a conflict and will generally only fight if she or those close to her are perceived as being threatened.

In her element, Erika is somewhat forgetful and obsessive--usually having some sort of new 'toy' to gush about if provoked. She enjoys the presence of children and resents those who would take advantage of them. While not particularly romantic or cheery even on the best of days, she usually manages to be pleasant in the company of kids. Erika is not a woman who smiles a lot in the company of strangers. Her default disposition is one of wary tolerance. She enjoys having her ego stroked but takes sexual advances poorly. Erika is very sensitive to the temperature, generally becoming irritable when the temperature exceeds 90 freedoms (32 commies) or drops below 50 freedoms (10 commies). Similarly, she becomes very grumpy when the humidity in the area is low.

As a parent, Erika is a bit of a pushover. She has a hard time saying no, with a few notable exceptions related to her distrust and hatred of holy beings.

Physiological Abnormalities
  • Can jump many times her own height and deliver devastating kicks on account of her huge hips, legs and feet.
  • Excellent sense of smell and night vision
  • Can breathe underwater
  • Cold-Blooded
  • Skin retains moisture very well. If it dries out, she dies.
  • Difficulty chewing food; Swallows food whole instead. Exponentially larger throat and stomach capacity.
  • Extremely long, sticky frog-like tongue that can lash out at speeds that make it difficult for the human eye to track.
  • Her flesh is poisonous. (Not to be confused with venomous)

Weapons and Armor
Titanfury: A comically large longsword imbued with earth magic. The blade has the ability to manipulate the ground when swung, creating a powerful shockwave that can potentially level small buildings by disturbing and shattering the earth underneath it. The blade's latent magic can be discharged for a single devastating attack before it needs to recharge. This blade does not dull or break.

Acheron's Grief: A small sword enchanted with dark celestial magic, it's blade an obsidian black color. It steals the soul of its victims upon a mortal blow, trapping them in one of the three rubies embedded in the blade's hilt(s). It is also imbued with a deadly venom. This blade does not dull or break.

Wyrmrise: A small sword imbued with draconic magic. It leaves extremely painful burns when it cuts flesh. The blade's latent magic can be discharged to unleash a mighty spectral dragon made of draconic flames upon the foe, attacking them for a short period of time before dissipating. The blade will only respond to the hands of an avowed knight. It contains the soul of Ryuujin Jakka.

The Megiddo Shards: A half dozen magical crystal shards that float about Erika' presence. Each shard acts as a solar powered battery for fire elemental magic to be called upon and weaponized with extreme speed. The shards seem to have a mind of their own. When combined, these shards form The Megiddo Star, a volatile meteor that can explosively ravage a small area.

Duskhowl: This longsword's blade glows faintly with a magical orange sheen that seems to twist and warp as one stares at it. A twilight crystal is forged into the body of the blade, the source of it's magical properties. Duskhowl is so named for its tendency to emit a howling noise that becomes eerily similar to a scream when swung at full force. Other than that, this blade's only real power would seem to be its ability to inflict debilitating, nightmarish sensations upon those it strikes. These brief hallucinations prey upon the victim's insecurities and worst fears to make them hesitate in battle, forcing enemies to flinch and or lose control of themselves so that the wielder may make additional attacks of opportunity upon them.

The Fallen Angel: A set of custom fitted hihi'irokane plate armor, heavily enchanted to serve a variety of functions in the interest of protecting its wearer. Two of it's main functions are temperature regulation, as Erika cannot survive in extreme temperatures (Below 32 Freedoms or above 100 Freedoms) without the aid of magic. Its second function is protection from magic. The armor absorbs latent spiritual energy from the world around Erika to form a buffer between herself and attacks, being especially effective in reducing the strength of magic before it reaches Erika, however, it cannot protect her against a series of consecutive, strong attacks. The armor is also capable of charging its buffer using captured souls as fuel, which is substantially more effective than usual. The metal itself is extremely difficult to pierce or shatter. However, the armor does not cover Erika's entire body and the cloth/unguarded parts are much less effective at blocking physical attacks. Additionally, blunt force is largely effective at bypassing the armor's protection. Lastly, the armor is enchanted to give Erika substantial control over its weight. This last enchantment is usually fueled by Erika's own emotions, failing if she is knocked out or too exhausted to continue fighting.

Magical Prowess
  • She is fluent with Unholy, Dark, Water, and Wind elemental magic in order of expertise; she can control other elements, except holy, with the aid of a magic circle. Her dark magic does not require speech.
  • Her soul is super-potent, being far denser with spiritual energy than an adult human. She can tap into this power to commit intense feats of strength that would be outright impossible for a normal human. Does not require speech.
  • She will self-resurrect some time after being killed unless her soul is captured and destroyed.
  • She is a skilled artificer, capable of creating a variety of magical objects both practical and novelty.
  • Erika is capable of magically swapping out her clothes, weapons or armor for another set.
  • Anti-Magic that would normally prevent someone from spellcasting has no effect on any of the above powers, as they are fueled by Erika's own strength rather than any latent magical force she could be disconnected from.

Artifacts
Insomniac's Mask: A cursed artifact, Insomniac's Mask becomes harder to take off the longer it is worn. The wearer will never feel any effect of exhaustion, however, they cannot rest and their health begins to rapidly decline after a few days. An average human male will lack the strength to remove the mask after only 11 hours, however, Erika is capable of wearing the mask for up to 84 hours before it's grip becomes too strong for her to remove. After 3 or 4 days the wearer will begin to enter a zombie-like state of decreased mental function. Death will ensue in as little as 7 days, particularly hardy individuals could last several days longer.

Muse of the Dead: Resembling a mask made out of the broken face of a human skull, the muse of the dead causes it's wearer to take on the form of a rotting zombie version of themselves. It can also cause them take on the form of a sentient skeleton. The transformation is perfect, to the point that even the wearer will begin to forget what it felt like to be alive after a time. It is not true undeath, however, as the mask will fall off after the wearer suffers a blow that would normally be deadly to their skull. At this point they are freed from the mask, suffering severely from a magical sickness that renders them weak, frail and nauseous for the better part of a week.

Spectacles of Truth: These glasses, when looked through, bestow the wearer with true vision. The glasses will thwart any attempt to obscure the wearer's natural vision with magic and giving them the ability to see sentient life through walls and other obstructions.

Companions and Pets
Water Golem: This deceptively powerful guardian serves as Erika's personal bouncer. A five foot tall, bulky glob of anthropomorphic water with a surprisingly strong punch. This beast cannot be restrained unless it is completely sealed in a container and is immune to fire magic, ice magic and most physical attacks on account of its nature. This creature is Erika's thrall, bound to her and bowing to her whim. It's also quite tasty and refreshing in a pinch, apparently. Erika's Water Golem is dangerous strictly because of how difficult it is to dispatch, as well as it's ability to harass someone relentlessly on command. Lightning magic is it's only proper weakness. It does not speak, though one is left to wonder what it might say if it could.

The Late Sir Leonce Pascal: A sassy spectral knight and one of Erika's thralls. He was drawn to the spiritual conductivity of her armor and forced into servitude by Erika, who keeps him bound to her presence. Sir Pascal holds his master with disdain, performing menial tasks for her begrudgingly and often criticizing her when she calls upon him. Normally Erika offers her spirit servants the choice of freedom or another chance at life as one of her children after they've served her for enough time, however, Sir Pascal apparently cared for neither option and chose to haunt her instead.

Weaknesses
  • Erika loses access to much of her spellcasting ability if she is unable to speak.
  • Erika's body is very vulnerable to fire and ice magic, both of which can destabilize her body temperature and wreak havoc on her ability to keep fighting back.
  • Holy magic is extremely effective at harming Erika, even more so than fire and ice magic. It has an effect on her similar to disintegration on contact.
  • Even Erika's armor cannot protect her from sufficiently extreme temperatures.

History
Erika was 'orphaned' at a very young age as a consequence of her uncle's schemes to sacrifice her for his own gain and power. Her parents are not dead, rather she was taken away from them to protect her from her uncle and as of yet has never either of her parents. She was given up to a couple who didn't quite understand exactly what she was, especially with regards to her dark heritage, and they raised her into her late teens. The couple was a pair of mages who attempted to teach Erika magic, however Erika struggled with basic magic for reasons unclear to them. When they investigated this issue they discovered Erika's magical presence was being suppressed, likely to protect her from being tracked down. The curse placed upon her was too arcane for her adopted parents to dispel, and so Erika began a search for someone who could help her.

As it so happened this search led her to her grandfather, who offered to remove her curse in exchange for a lifetime of servitude--or more accurately, slavery. Erika reluctantly agreed, but when her grandfather removed the curse from her he immediately noticed the darkness‌ in her soul. Recognizing her as being related to him, he refused to keep her as a slave and instead began raising her to tap into newfound potential. It was from him that she learned to use dark magic and with his aid that she received her armor, The Fallen Angel. He also helped her learn to wield a sword and gifted her with one of her own named Acheron's Grief, an artifact designed with synergy with her armor in mind.

Erika grew to spend a lot more time with her grandfather as time passed and she continued learning in his footsteps, adopting her militant hatred of all that was holy from him and mimicking several facets of his fighting style in her effort to aspire to become more like the self-proclaimed "King of Darkness". Unfortunately for her idol, his day would one day come and Erika would be left to inherit the collapsed remains of her grandfather's legacy. Newly self-proclaimed "Queen of Darkness", Erika set out to build herself a legacy and family of her own to fill the void left by the family she'd lost.

So begins...

"Are you alright?" She asked, her brow furrowing. The girl seemed on edge. She could sense she wasn't a normal human girl, which is what made Seriah worried about the girl's own edgyness.

A woman sporting an unusually pair shaped body, where her hips and below were rather large in proportion to the rest of her body, stood on the old bridge gazing into the distance as if at something unseen. She carried blades with her, and wore rather flattering clothes on top of her figure including flared jeans for starters. Her skin and hair seemed slightly moist, as if she'd been swimming recently. Yet, her clothes were fine.

From the north of the bridge two figures came out of the freezing fog of the pine forest, one, the smaller of the two, running ahead of the other. The short golden skinned, green haired girl dressed in thick work clothes, looking fresh out of an engineering garage with a large metal pack on her back and a thick leather jacket and gloves encasing all the skin on her body other than her face.
The taller of the two chased close behind, calling out what seemed to be the other's name, she was dressed almost in the opposite fashion, flittering silken robes completely covering yet barely concealing a slim, shapely figure, "tails" of cloth swirling about her seemingly disobeying the laws of momentum and gravity, a long spear covered in runes was sheathed upon her back and an amulet attached to a choker about her neck, clinking in the quiet air as she chased the smaller girl.
"Seria! Seria slow down! I swear if you prove Maedos right there will be hell to pay!" She waved her hand at Seria's back as she effortlessly bounded over the cold rocky ground. "Come on I thought you were supposed to be cautious, don't do this to me!"
Upon seeing a stranger upon the nearing bridge however the younger girl, Seria, stopped, staring at the figure on the bridge before running back to the elder, ducking behind them and clinging to her robes.
"Oh hells what is it now you little twerp." She huffed and came to a stop as she looked over at the bridge, spying the figure. "Huh... What do you know?" She brushed her black hair out of her face and grinned, revealing a set of sharp draconian teeth, taking Seria's hand. "Come along then, lets go say hello."
Te duo approached the bridge as the elder of the two raised an arm and called out:
"Hello?! Whose over there?"

The woman with the rather large backsidde and legs almost seemed not to notice either of their words even as the older looking of the two adressed her correctly. However, a moment after the apparent female's last comment Erika lifted her head casually and turned to face them both. She had a rather serious look on her face. In truth, she was immediately scanning the both of them for some sort of holy or unholy alignment, herself having an extremely dark alignment in league with that of a fallen angel. With a slight flexing of her hands she rested one on the butt of her larger sword before finally responding. "Erika--Erika Onzanem. Who asks?" she asked in a confident tone, only slightly defensive.

Neither of the two seemed too give off much of any aura as if something was repressing it, though the elder seemed to be giving off a faint dark influence while the younger was giving off a faint shine of childish purity.
"Laedir asks." The woman replied as she approached, gripping the pole-arm of her spear as she approached and saw Erika grip her own weapon. She gave her a wide toothy smile as Seria hid further behind her, the apparent teenager hunching up and almost pressing her face between Laedir's shoulder blades. "There's no need for violence my dear, we're not looking for trouble." Her emerald eyes roved over the other woman. "So what brings you to this desolate little stretch of this world?" She asked with a slight tilt of her hip as she stood at a distance, still smiling and observing.

Erika... did not take kindly to hidden auras. Nope. She just sort of narrowed her eyes at the two in a suspicious manner, rather frustrated by this fact. "...I'll trust you when I know where your allegiance lies." Erika responded in a slightly cold tone. Huh. She was awfully paranoid, as if she was running from something and suspected that anything around her could be an enemy. Golly! Wonder what that was all about? ...Erika removed her hand from her blade, watching the two females carefully. All of a sudden her muscles seemed to reluctantly relax, as did her gaze. "I saught enlightenment through trial--What is it you seek?" she said in an earnest manner, still fishing for an explanation from one of the two.

Laedir dipped her head slightly and removed her hand from her own weapon.
"I assure you whatever enemies you may have my little friend and I are not them." She stepped forwards onto the bridge, her tails of cloth floating about the younger woman seemingly in a protective fashion. "As to why we are here we were looking for a few nicks and nacks for the little one here." She reached behind herself and placed a hand on Seria's arm. "She loves to build things and some components were out here. Funny what you can find in a place like this." Laedir tilted her head and favored Erika a curious look. "And what enlightenment would this be and through what trial if I may beg the question?"
The silk draped woman was still yet to drop her odd grin as the younger girl was still yet to speak a word.

Erika moved closer to the other two, the bridge creaking under her powerful legs. She refused to break eye contact, but that was the only remaining sign of her suspicions. Perhaps it was just in her nature. "Enlightenment...--Something of value. People. Allies. Power. Resources. Knowledge" she explained, looking the two over. "Almost anything can become a reward to the right person. I wish to expand my family." she explained further, seemingly hinting at what she /truly/ wanted. But what was it she meant by that? Did she want children? Was she seeing a mate..?

Erika would move over near the other two, seemingly unconcerned with their close proximity for the moment. "What is a nick and a nack to you?" she queried, apparently not jumping to conclusions there.

Laedir tilted her head towards her companion.
"Well to my friend in this particular instance it means tools and supplies for her little contraptions." She stepped aside a little, placing an arm about the shorter woman and Seria pressed against her side, looking up cautiously at Erika. "And what what is family to you Erika? Friends? Lovers? Siblings? Children? Parents? Comrades? Pets?" Laedir's eyes narrowed as she gave out the list though her smile did not diminish.
Seria tugged at Laedir's robes slightly, seemingly wanting to leave though Laedir made no motion to do so.

Erika seemed to consider Laedir's words, glancing down at Seria. She had a very difficult look to read in her eyes, the kind you might expect from someone with perfect composure. After a long moment she would relent. "...You'll forgive me--I've been expecting trouble for a very long time, and something is preventing me from detecting your alignment." she said in a half-hearted tone. "Children, primarily." she explained bluntly, glancing down at herself briefly. "I wish to... 'adopt'. Truthfully, it is far more complex than that. However, I will say no more on technicalities for the moment being." she continued on. "I fear that it would be foolish to adopt someone as my sibling or allow a man sovereign over me." she clarified, attempting to explain her reasoning. She then cleared her throat.

"Most show little interest in what /I/ want. I haven't adopted a person in...--" she started, before trailing off for a moment. "Longer than I can remember." she clarified. "What makes you special..?" she asked with a tone of curiosity in her voice. "I'm afraid if it is trade you seek, I have little to offer other than food, water, shelter and knowledge." she finally finished, turning halfway away from the two of them.

Laedir chuckled to herself and placed a hand upon Serias head, ruffling her green hair slightly.
"How sweet, a motherly figure?" An odd glint shone in her eye and Seria tugged on her robe again and Laedir only responded by patting her on the head. "Ah, I see why you were so wary, we can't really help the aura suppression, it comes with being one of our kind." She huffed and looked out over the river. "And no we're not looking for trade, we have everything we need and we're on our way back... Home." She hesitated at the final word looking like it left a bad taste in her mouth. She shook her head and returned to grinning wryly. "And as to what makes me special? In what way do you mean?" She cocked her hip and raised a brow.

Erika observed Laedir's body language with at least mild interest. "Mmm... I guess you could say that." she responded casually, as if unsure she believed it herself. "You're right, actually. But it's in my nature." she said, grinning slightly. It was then that Laedir and Seria might notice that her mouth stretched inhumanly wide. It was not an open-toothed grin at least. "You are special because you give me the time of day--And not just to stare at my hips either." she said in an only half joking tone. "I sense hesitation in your words however... The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb--That's probably why I seek to make those around me my children instead of having my own." she explained thoughtfully. "What bothers you?"

Laedir gave a thoughtful look and looked up at the sky, placing a hand on her chin.
"Some may disagree about the water of the womb... To bear a child is to bear your successor, your future an immortal legacy." She chuckled and shook her head. "But I suppose it's not so important when you're unconcerned with death or the need for succession, though even some immortals see a child born of their own flesh and blood to be the greatest of joys."
She crossed her arms and Seria moved over to the edge of the bridge looking over the raging river while glancing between Laedir and Erika.
"As to what bothers me..." She huffed and pouted before grinning widely. "The concept of 'home' on this little world is alien and almost gross to me. I know only one real home and I can not return there." She looked Erika in the eye, shifting her weight slightly. "I am both cursed and blessed to be a wanderer, traveling where I wish, when I wish. But sadly some things have a little sway over me..." She raised a hand to her amulet and stroked the silver edge of it slowly. "And they demand I stay, wait and watch." She chuckled and closed her eyes for a moment, inhaling slowly.

Erika didn't seem fazed by the disagreement. Rather she waited a moment before inputting her thoughts on the matter. "To me it has always seemed that my successor should be that whom I love and trust most--Not whomever happens to come from my body." she remarked in a thoughtful tone. "...But, alas. I suppose if it were the wish of any individual seeking to join my family, I would find a way to grant them rebirth through me so that they could feel at home." she relented in a lackluster tone, hinting that perhaps being pregnant wasn't the most ideal situation.

She chuckled slightly at a hidden joke. "Look at me--Big plans for such a little person." she remarked idly, the slightest hint of sadness finding it's way into her voice.

However, after absorbing all of what Laedir had to say Erika's shoulders dropped in a semi-helpless manner. When Laedir closed and opened her eyes she would find that Erika had taken a step or two forward, now well within arm's reach. Her body language was still reserved however, making it unclear why she'd done this. "...Tell me--What is this home from which you cannot return, and who demands these things of you?" she asked, something between concern and affection in her tone. A small part of her wanted to believe she could help, but the cynicist in her did not want to get her hopes up.

[color=purple]Laedir nodded at the statement. "I suppose you're right, one who you raise as a your own becomes your own in many ways." She chuckled at the notion of literally rebirthing someone. "Oh that sounds utterly absurd, darling... And pointless and painful..." She makes a face, seeming to find the idea of pregnancy somewhat repulsive.

She raises an eyebrow as Erika chuckles and says the odd line. "What... Do you mean by that?" She asks, furrowing her brows as she hears the unmistakeable sound of sadness, despite its almost unnoticeable inflection.

Laedir sighs at the question, looking away wistfully. "I... Hmf. I hail from the Cradle of Eternity, the birthplace and sacred realm of the Aeon, seat of the thrones of the almighty Armaegus and the council of the Dios Narda, the gateway to our promised land, the Starlit Vales..." She sighs again and looks down at the boards of the bridge, sliding a slippered foot along its surface. "I gave that up in the name of one of our eleven deities... The Successor, The Warcaller, The Scarred, The Great Seer... Daedalus." She smiled slightly, saying the titles with a slight sense of reverence. "At the time of my death I was presented with a choice, pass on to paradise or serve Daedalus until Eternity ends or my services are no longer needed. In my love for our gods, in my respect for Daedalus I accepted and was aligned as an Avatar of Lust, the embodiment of Daedalus' dark desires, a seeker of the foul and the cruelly excessive." She grinned wide, her smile growing larger than should rightly be possible. "I was imbued with the essence of a Shade of Lust, Daedalus' shade whom even in godhood, ae carries in aer spirit womb, a constant reminder of the darkness, of the power and temptation..." She sighed as Seria, reached up with a quiet murmur in an indecipherable language, her smile falling as she looked back up at Erika. [purple]

Erika smiled lightly. "Oh, I could do it." she stated firmly in response to Laedir's doubts about her being able to rebirth someone. "It would just be a matter of details... I do not fear the pain, and any essence of triviality is a small price to pay for the sort of power that comes from sharing my blood." she explained casually, and in truth with hips like that could one really fault her for not being afraid?

"But--ah... I appear to be the only one of my kind, is all." she remarked in a lackluster tone.

Several long moments would pass as Erika attempted to discern what Laedir meant speaking of promised lands and divine beings and such like that. However, after determining that this was perhaps a being aligning with darkness. "Alas, it seems as if you've got your own problems--So. I've got one more question for you." she offered idly, leaning against the edge of the bridge, which creaked underneath her. "Well--Actally. Two. Where does she fit into this..?" she asked, gesturing to Seria. "and... How can I help?" she said, gesturing idly. Her tone was casual, but did that imply a lack of conviction?

"Indeed, I have my own problems..." Laedir sighed and looked away, inhaling sharply and huffing. "And her?" She looked over at Seria who bushed and looked down. "I don't really know... She's one of my companion's problem, she somehow managed to get herself lost and end up in this world... Maedos found her and we've had to look after her since..." She turned to Erika, looking her up and down. "And whether or not you could help... I'm no-" She was cut off as she cried out and the amulet on her neck flared up brightly before the red runes on it faded away leaving the black orbs featureless as Laedir gave a horrified expression. "Oh... Oh gods no..." She looked frantically between Seria and Erika before sprinting away, all but screaming over her shoulder, "Look after her until either I or Faindir comes to get her!" She dived forwards, her arms crossed in front of her head as she seemingly smashed through an invisible glass wall, reality shattering behind her into a oscillating mass of colours and the hole in reality closed in on itself. Seria meanwhile watched this all with a shocked expression, her mouth hanging open in disbelief as Laedir seemingly abandoned her with the stranger.
She turned slowly to look up at the wide hipped woman, swallowing thickly as she took a step back, her eyes shaking with nervousness and confusion as she observed the woman's features.
