The statue slowly slid away from its fittings, grating against its stone base. Slowly, very slowly, it opened. Not for lack of trying. Not for lack of caring. However, the man wasn't in a rush. He could feel the air against his dead flesh. He could feel the subtle light of twilight reflecting in his eyes. He was awake, for the first time in centuries, Frederic was awake. And it was glorious.

His robe mostly open to the world, his inhibitions abandoned, it was like being born again. And he wasn't even hungry. Yet. He was sure that the years of suppressing the hunger would catch up to him soon enough. "Ahh...yes...This is the world I left...and I the world to which I returned." Finally free of the grave, he admired himself. Tall? Check. Hair? A little shaggy, but he would fix that soon enough. Eyes...well, he needed a mirr-oh wait, nevermind. His body was in good shape. He could smell his kin near by. Perfect. He could use a conversation to stretch his long, neglected jaw muscles. And tongue. And cheeks. Yes. Talking would be good. His robe swayed in the breeze as he waited, leaned against his 'grave'. "Ladeedeeda~~."

"Sleeping. Right down there. Didn't even bother to look for me, eh, brother? Disappointing. Very, very disappointing. That my own brother would just abandon me!" He feigned, well, feinting, before dissolving into giggles and chuckles and all kinds of laughs. Shaking his head as he slowly pulled himself from the dirt.

"What is with the soldiers, dear brother? Am I not trusted, dear brother? I've only been asleep, dear breather." Another hearty laugh, this one with a darker inclination. "Where is our sire? Why have I been awakened?"

"OH! May the Lord have mercy on us all. Get it? Hah. Like that bastard would ever be kind to us or our kin." He couldn't help but chuckle again at his brother's matched reaction.

"So...why do you say that my timing is impeccable. I mean, I know that I always am. I know that whenever I'm around, things get better. The charm of being your little brother is that I'm the favorite, right?" Frederic mocked right back at him.

A sigh, a scratch of his chin, a yawn. "Hmmm...Hmmmhmmmhmmm...Do you need something from me? Is that why I was woken up? Hmmm?"

"The favorite," Casren grinned, "Yes. It also means I must baby sit you, little brother." He bat the air before him, hiding the smile that had grown despite his brethren's prodding.

"Perhaps I need you, perhaps I don't. Do you want to be important, too?" Casren gestured at the guards, who shifted nervously. They didn't like being pointed out, they were supposed to be in the shadows.

"Still like politics?"

"If they are still like they used to be. Grease hands. Shake others. Bite others. Fear, love, and money. Thats all there is to it." He hopped to his feet and stood in his brothers face, laughing. "Yes, of course I still love politics, your insistently chatty, old, decrepit, old, annoying, old fart." Normally, he was calm. But he'd been asleep for so long.

And he was a tad bit peckish.

"...Hate to admit it. But you're right. I do smell a tad...off putting." He couldn't help but laugh. "Anyway, mister important man. Show me to this land and power you claim to possess, and I'll take a look. And a bathe. And preferably a bite to eat or two. If you would. Let us, let us, let us gooooo~." Frederic all but sang as he leaped over his brother's head, twirled, and strolled towards the nearest source of fresh blood he could smell.

Of course, he had no idea where he was going.

He corrected his course as soon as he could, yawning while he did so, all the while shooting a glare in the direction of the guards. "Stand back from me, vermin." Was all he would say before returning to all laughs and smiles, almost skipping to catch up. "Politics are so much fun, brother. I am glad you're cutting me in on this."

Frederic was a tad more dressed now. And groomed. All 'fancy-manned' up. His hair was pulled back into an old style braid, washed for the first time in years. He wore a blue and gold petti-coat with a ivory fluffy frill, as well as matching midnight blue pants. Fancy-manned up, yes? He couldn't help but smile as he stepped out of the shadows. Literally. Out of the shadows...
...
...And immediately began to laugh. "Oh! That girl is precious! Is she our new 'sister', dearest, oldest, brother?"

Frederic would extend his hand to Kaiser. "Nice to meet you, Blood. I'm Frederic Bistreo, your Lord's brother, and soon to be...temporary...head of Detente's political operations. While brother is gone, of course." A malicious grin. Oh...he had plans for this one.

Kaiser himself was honestly, mouth agape, eyes wider, the whole nine yards. He couldn't even bring himself to shake the hand. "Is...Is this true, Casren. You're leaving the Detente...For. How. Long?"

The man was dressed differently than usual today. Having settled down in the castle instead of having a lavish home constructed in the town of Verinotte Hollow, he wasn't exactly...dressed. All he wore to this meeting, which he assumed was nothing more than a formality for when he took over the duties of his brother, was a simple, navy blue robe with a silver hem, not too long, not too...man-whore-ish. His hair was done, at least, brushed and braided, and of course, he was not without his many accessories.

Exiting the main gate, he sat down at the base of an old statue, a cup of Verinotte's produced Wine de Blud swirling in his hand. Couldn't be meeting on a totally empty stomach.

The ancient vampire tilted his head, curiosity filling his eyes and smile. At the both of them. Such oddities amongst oddities. It was delightful, so much so that he began to clap. "Yes, yes, I am he! The younger brother of the esteemed and insightful Casren. Or so we like to tell people. Even if its true." Frederic sipped his wine before yawning, his own teeth stained with blood, though he didn't much care if people saw.

"So. You called me out here. Or at least one of you did." He looked around. He had brought no guards. No one else was here. Not too smart on his part, when meeting with strangers, even if it was neutral and/or friendly ground. "Your names?"

"Mmm...Names sound familiar. However I didn't do any looking into about you two. Didn't feel the need." Another yawn. Having woken up from a near millennial sleep took more than just a few hours. "Hmmm...Well, you are correct. I am going to be fielding my fair share, and more, of political power while dear brother is away. Which will be soon. He is merely getting his affairs in order, for now. Hasn't abandoned it all on me. Yet."

He stood, rubbing his eyes and staring into the never changing, constantly setting sun that filled the wood within the Detente's land. Marvelous. "Hmmm...So...what exactly do you need from me, aside from an introduction. Which was charming, I assure you." His smile was genuine. People were fun, one way or another. Talking, chatting, screaming, bleeding, dying, dead, blah blah, etc. Yes.

"There are...many and few. Ideas, some long term, some short, some already in motion. DesCorp, Invictus, keeping things level with the WCPD, as well as the RIP. I have a few men, and women, and things, getting Verinotte populated with as many people as possible. Also, the Blood Edict and Humanity clause may or may not need some tweaks. Of course..." He paused, scratching his chin, almost purring at himself.

"Mmmm...none of that matters...if the Hunter's continue to gather like they've been doing...We could have a problem, if that is allowed to happen..."

"Oh...Oh! You are just...wonderful. I could kill you, I'm so happy." Instead, he seemingly 'blinked' before her eyes and gave he a kiss on top of the head. "Do that. Do just that, if you would. Be careful, and all that. No need to get yourself killed." His eyes slowly drifted towards the dragon.

"Mmmm...And you, Mortuus. You just seemed...filled with power. You might need to get to talking with another lich, one that lives in Verinotte. One by the name of Bangal. Two liches are...an asset that we can't ignore. However, I also want you to get involved with Yves and Athena. They're in charge of most of the military and a dragon...well...we can't ignore that, now can we, girls?" His smile, and this was on purpose, was as eerie as he could make it. Frederic was already beginning to think of new ideas...

"Good, good, go, go. I'll make some arrangements. Let Bangal know he's to expect someone. Oh...And an Catira. There is a man, a particular hunter, I want you to find, and watch. Well...not he himself. Find a man named Marshal. Marshal Clark." Frederic smiles, giggled. "Hahaha! Lets make haste, we have work to do!" He exclaimed, all but running into the castle.

As it had been, Frederic had not been on a leisurely stroll in some time. He was anxious to finally get to work on things, now that his brother was finally gone. In truth, he was relishing it all. Taking it slow. Besides, he already had some things in motion. He was never one for sitting on his hands. Opening the door to the world outside, which he greeted with a smile, the ancient vampire would feel his foot, or rather hear, making a crumpling sound. Odd...

With his eyes falling to the steps below, more out of annoyance than anything else, he saw two little pieces of paper. The undead would muse for a bit, sip on his morning wine, and undo the fastenings on his robe, a slow yawn escaping his thin lips. "Lets see what we have here...Mmm...Uninteresting...How about the oth...Ooo...Oooh I like this quite a bit!" Frederic giggled, stuffed both pieces of paper into his inner pockets. Someone demanding, and someone calling for a polite little social gathering! Full of the would be stupidity of other...so called...people of importance. These next few weeks would be more interesting, to say the least.

With a yawn, Frederic descended down the stair case, his robes open to the world, his hair let loose with no elegance or style. He'd been...entertaining a few guest earlier. It almost looked like he had a five o'clock shadow, but no, that was a very fine 'crust' of crusted sanguine. He'd have to get someone to clean up later. "Yes, yes, sire, why are you yelling? The day is still so...dusky..."

"I wouldn't take me long. Just have to comb out my hair and wash up. The usual things. Half an hour at best. Why do you ask, sire? What are you plotting at now?" Another yawn as the pale haired vampire slowly tied up his short little robe, rotating his neck a few times. Working out the kinks.

Distinct letters blazoned red over the surrounding buildings, Image
marking The Palace as more than just the third tallest building in Wing City. It was a place to be known. At least, this was the impression Zosimos recieved upon his first visit. They had received a letter at Castle, about the government or something or another. So here the three men were, idling outside the fortress of this glorious building, in a slick black hovercraft. The pavement beneath the transport device had a purple glow cast across it. On the back, one could just make out a gem encrusted logo of the manufacturer. It was, noticeably, a piece of Descorp technology. The vehicle wasn't all too odd looking, unless of course you were still living in Earth's nineteenth century. Zosimos chuckled to himself at the thought. He gazed out the window until the hovercraft came to a complete stop, halting at the gates and waiting for clearance. They were here by appointment, of course. Invited, even. Here on official Terran Governmental Business, as official representatives of Verinotte Hollow, the Vankoryth Detente, and the Sangue di Bistreo. Wasn't all that a mouthful? Zosimos smiled, but tucked the expression away immediately.

Phinx, along with several actual security guards, sat in the security booth at the gates. Phinx was quick to poke her head out of the window at the sight of the hovercar.

"Nice." The woman said, "What are you here for?" She asked, "I don't recognize you." The Invictus leader said as if she knew everyone who came around.

She just didn't see a hovercar come around often.
