Gian embraced Racie tightly, wrapping his arms around her waist as he placed his forehead against her neck. "It's you. It's actually you!" he cried. He then tried to put his hands on her shoulders, drawing her back.

"You, Connor, and Kalil are the only ones left. Racie, it isn't safe anymore. Everyone's dead. Everyone in our Gadget is dead." He seemed to have no problem facing the facts. "I'm the only one left. It's dangerous. There's another Gadget here, right? A younger one. They're in danger, too. Racie, don't come in contact with them, whatever you do. We can't stay together like this, either. I have to leave. I'm so sorry."

"I'll come back." Gian assured her. His hands came up to grasp her face tenderly. "You don't worry. You don't ever worry about me. No one can catch me, remember? I'm the lead Runner in Gadget. But I can't put you all in danger. He doesn't know who you all are. Get rid of your tattoos. You remember how? Just use the Nanoscrambler." He held his breath, trying to hold something back.

"I have to go. I'm so sorry, Racie. This wasn't meant to happen. But I will come back for you."

A dark figure sat upon the rooftops, dressed in a ratty cloak that bellowed in the wind. A dramatic scene, even with his black hoverbike nearby. His head turned to look down the street, then up at the flare he had set off. The flare, which burned in the sky with Gadget's two cogs. A recent invention in the past ten years.

...ten years, which had been erased.

Ten years of strong friendships and innovation.

Upon seeing Racie land, the figure stood up, reaching up to grab his hood and pull it off. His face revealed, with a mop of black bangs running over it, was in a grin. The tips of his pointed eats just showed.

"Been a while. I had a feeling you'd come. The new Gadget is a bit skittish to try anything like that." he told her. "How have you been?"

"Tommy's always been a little ass." he replied, returning the hug tightly, his arms wrapped around her shoulders. "I'm so sorry this is happening. We tried so hard. We tried so, so hard."

Gian's eyes narrowed, krinkling at the sides. "I'll be staying for a little while, but...not for long. I'm doing more research on this guy. There's apparently mistakes that our Gadget did that caused him to come after us. Crimes."

"It looks like...our Tornado might have gotten into a situation and killed a few people. I don't know the situation behind it. It certainly wasn't any Scrapers, though. Then, it would have been okay. I don't know any other crimes anyone committed...but it was enough to get someone's attention. A lot of things were going on behind our backs."

"I can try, but this guy won't stop until all of Gadget's dead. It feels more like a hate crime than anything. He really believes Gadget's just a group of...criminals. I think he's been sent by Phoenix, but...there's no way they know about time travel."

With a sigh, he pulled her closer. "Whatever our Gadget's crimes were...we need to make sure this Gadget doesn't repeat them. I can't go to them, however. I can't...go see me. And I can't have me...see...me. Does that make sense?"
