"Good boy? Alright, alright. Upsy daisy," he said, looking to Hope and making sure it was alright with her before picking up Henry and landing him on his shoulders.

"Oh...well, then, since I'm not shot or eaten, I guess mummy thinks I must be alright enough, right?" He said to Rachel, holding his hands out. "Want to tell me your name?"

"What's going on out there? Qué chingaa-" Cortez came out, the muscular Mexican weapons technician. He stopped his curse as soon as he found Hope and the kids. "-aaad...ah. Ai mama, kids? And is this Hope? Ai, nina, haven't seen you in a long time! Who is this nino and nina, eh?"

"Heh, I'll be sure not to tell him that. Maybe you'll be able to meet him during Christmas. He's pretty nice." He said, cantering around like a horse, hoping that the strap around his head wouldn't fall off. Just in case, he held onto Henry's legs, grinning.

"Well, of course mummy thinks I'm okay! You see? You like me, right Hope? I never...did anything bad!" Okay, okay, Jack did a lot of bad things, but never anything that actually hurt anyone, of course. "You wanna play house? I know something perfect for that!"

"Henry and Rachel, ah? It'd be easy to get a lot of people out here if it ain't gonna frighten 'em too much. Naria'd like kids. Tora'd be too surprised to see 'em! And...ah...I'm sure Grennel and Min'd like to come out, too." He said. "Him lookin' around shouldn't be too bad. I betcha I can whip up summin' real quick that'd distract him real good!"

"You want bandits? I could do that!" He said, running right down the alley of tents and making horse noises, looking quite like the wild Italian elf he was. Well, not so much. Anyone seeing Gian now would break up in laughter at the odd scene.
And, well, lots of people did come out. Hoards of people, actually, all including Min, Grennel, Tora, Naria, Mick, and many, many other faces that might have been familiar to Hope. Choruses of "Kids!" And "Ohhh, who is this little one?" And also "Oh, my God!" Swept over camp along with the wild chatter of people. They surrounded the kids, though they kept a good space to not traumatize them.

"Hope. You seem well?" Said Grennel, coming right up to the girl. The large, muscular black man smiled.

"Of course. The only other children we have are Tommy and Tasia. Even then, they are much older than your own kids, here. Gadget members are always glad to see a child. It symbols a sort of hope for us," he said, chuckling. "It also gives them a reason to have a break and fool around."

"Oh, oh, someone's coming up behind you, Henry! Better shoot him quick!" Said Gian as another Runner, called Ace, who had a very long, girly ponytail, came up behind Henry with his hands raised and his fingers wriggling. Some people even took bandana's from their pockets or necks and tied them around their mouths to imitate 'real' bandits.

"Hey, give her a little more space, yeah? I think Henry could use more bandits to chase," said Jack, attempting to lift the girl up into his arms carefully. As he did, most of the members retreated with smiles and kind "Okay's" but one came forward. A woman with a wild head of colored hair. She was taller than Gian, but she was still fairly short. Her eyes were pinched at the ends, and her lips were painted green with lipstick.

"Your name is Rachel, right? I'm Tora. You've nothing to fear, mummy likes me, too. You said you wanted to play house? What's your favorite color? Pink, maybe?"

Gian saw Henry the moment Hope came into camp. It was like a thought transferred from all Gadget characters. They all knew something was wrong with the silent approach. "Hey, buddy, what's up?" Said the elf, adopting a new, kinder expression as he came to the child. One very different than the glare to Kale.

"Really. You think a simple slice to the belly and a few broken ribs would heal up soon...and a broken leg, sure. But that hardly means anything."

The complaints of a certain elf filled the room as he came in, his crutches clacking on the floor. His goggles sat atop his head and his jacket firmly around his body. Bloody Cortez opened up his stitches again. Ass. He leaned against a chair, seemingly tired. How horrible was it for a man to have to work this hard for a drink.

The elf scratched the back of his neck, irritated. Making another lunge for the counter was going to kill him. He knew it would. But was a drink worthit?
Yes it was!
That is, until someone caught his eye. He was first alerted by her voice. He looked up, spotting the bright head of Hope. She seemed to be...fiddling around with some man. He hadn't an idea who he was, but the woman did not look happy. Nor was her tone. He decided the stretch was more worthit than before.

"Hope?" he said, trudging towards them on the crutches. "This a friend of yours?" he asked, raising his chin toward Dillon.

Yeah? Well I feel like there's more to it than that, thought the Runner, raising a brow to Dillon. Hope looked upset. He had barely caught any of the conversation, too. He felt in his coat briefly for his two-way Tesla pistol. He had been to concentrated on something else. But this man? He felt...wrong. Just everything about it. The way he carried himself and the way he spoke. It set off the elf's senses. The feeling proved true when Hope explained.

"This is the guy?" he snarled, those large, blue eyes if his narrowing in a brooding anger. It became worse when he stole Hope's goggles. "You should learn to keep your hands to yourself. Might do you good."

The elf was not like others. He was a little ball of fury that took effort to keep in one place. With Dillon's comment, it was just so difficult for him to keep from exploding. He would have favored taking out the Tesla pistol and shooting him right there. With the setting it was on, it wouldn't kill him. Not immediately, anyway. His hand clenched onto the crutch instead, knuckles turning white.

"You ought to let her go. You ought to give her back to never see her again. Both Hope and Kendra." It was evident, to Gian, that by having power over Kendra, he held Hope, as well. "And the kid. They never belonged to you." That was all he could say. All he could say without spitting and mauling the man. Even in his state.

"Someone else? Well then what's he doing with Kendra? Why does he have her?" asked Gian stubbornly. The gun that clacked against his ribs hurt, but it assured him. "My name is Gian. And it isn't a pleasure to meet you. No matter what you say, you're keeping Kendra against her will. Because you took the original one, like Hope told me. The Kendra that loved her, and would never love something like you. Or are you afraid of that? Is that why you hide behind that little layer of cowardice in you? You aren't anything. Nothing at all. I think you should stop trying to convince yourself you are." Ass.

Gian almost listened to him. Almost felt sympathetic. He almost wanted to feel for the man, but the fact of the matter was that he could not. There was no way he could feel for him after what he had done to Hope. "Yeah, well. I really Hope that works out for ya." Was his final words. He was not going to express the words within his mind. He did not understand how he intended to have his son grow up in shame with him as a father. He did not suppose Dillon knew he would not be able to hide secrets from him forever, either. He mumbled something under his breath, but nothing else. "We should head back to Gadget." he said, looking towards the door.

So much for a drink.

One last comment. Always one last comment. "I would never hurt a kid. I don't care what you spread around. I would never hurt a kid." Not after what all of them, as kids, went through. Not after what he had done to save Tommy and Nayeli. Both of them, after all, were still kids. "I'll give you a ride, Hope. Come on. We don't need to speak to trash."

The sigh of a hover engine could be heard outside, letting a soft humming sound escape before landing. It was a slick black vehicle, made for both stealth and speed.

Into the bar came a little elf. He was not one of Santa's elves, nor was he one of Tolkien's elves. He was a cyberpunk elf, and that was the best elf of all. Standing at a petite 4'10", Gian walked in proudly, his large, darling blue eyes swimming around the bar. He adjusted the goggles atop his head, then slid off the fingerless riding gloves he had been wearing.

It was at this time that Gian spotted the other members, Henry, and the new girl who had been stroking his ears, Racie.

He did not like her.

The elf scratched the back of his head, pulling his lips into a tight line before walking stiffly to them. "Hello, Henry," he said, smiling kindly to the child. He looked to Racie and frowned. "Oh. Hello. You." He noticed what an intent glare she was giving him and wanted to shrink away instantly. He did not, however, for his pride would not allow him.

He sat next to Henry instead, wedging the small boy between both hoverbikers. "How have you been, Henry?" he asked, ignoring Racie as much as he could.

"Is she, now?" asked Gian, his voice going to a deadpan. "Well, I suppose, only is you really like the girl, she's allowed to be best friends. But I'm supposed to be y- GYAH!" he cried as he felt a hand brush his ear. The elf could have died at that moment. He pulled back, nearly falling off of his chair, and gave a fierce, poisonous glare to Racie.

"No. Down."

At this time, Gian found himself staring at Racie for the longest moment, both in disbelief and with reluctance. Who the hell would allow anyone else to stroke their ears? "Absolutely not." he scoffed, making a face.

"We are not going to be kissing, Henry! I hardly know her!" he cried, holding up the kid in both hands. "Don't say that again! It's strange!"

His attention, shortly taken away by the redhead at the door and the other patron who had been looking at them. He came back to Racie and Henry.

Gian turned his head toward the new member, Cameron. He had only met him once or twice in the last few days, but the guy was hard to miss, what with the way he dressed, and all. "Oh. Hello. Your name is...Cam...eron, right? Yes. I met you the first day. How do you like Gadget so far?" he asked, indicating the seat next to him with a tilt of his chin.

He smacked away Racie's hand, perking a brow as he did so. "No!" he said again.

Gian's eyebrows arched downward as Racie was pushed right at him. His arms flew up, and he shouted loudly. No amount of his "elven grace" was going to prepare him for the sudden smash and fall to the ground. He swore the woman was a foot taller than him, or else she was fat.

---------

The riders all exchanged confused glances as they saw the horse. The looks all said "A...horse? The hell is a horse doing here?" They turned their eyes back to the animal. Ace had seen the horse before.

"I think its lost or something. Not much food out here in the ruins, is there?" he said, almost to the horse. "Whats it doing?"

Gian got up very quickly, though his face was absent of a blush, unlike Racie's face. She should have been glad to of been dark-skinned, or else the elf would have picked on her about it. It was harder to see a blush when you were the color of caramel.

"Well, that was terribly rude. Being dropped on the head made you unable to remember your manners-" he changed his glance to Racie. "-and your balance. Uncoordinated, you two!"

It was a joke, but he made it seem very snarky.
