Description

BASIC INFORMATION

Name/Nickname: Horatio "Old Ho" Castle
Sex: Male.
Age: 32.
Marital Status: Married.
Profession: CEO of Castle Corp. and something of a business tycoon.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Height: 6’0
Weight:145 pounds
Hair: Copper-brown, though when oiled back into his customary style it appears closer to black.
Eyes: Green.
Complexion/Skin Tone: Pale skin that frequently takes on a greyish cast.
Distinguishing Marks/Scars: A deep, upwards-curving scar is clearly noticeable beneath his right eye.
Appearance: An unhealthy looking man by all accounts, and one with little stamina since his return from abroad; he holds himself carefully, sometimes shuffling with hunched shoulders when tired. He has been known to walk with a crutch. Outside of the public eye, he tends to use a self-propelling wheelchair to get around. It is neon green, and was chosen by his daughter.

Anything else: He takes a great deal of care when dressing, liking to appear immaculate even when he feels far from it. His typical outfit is topped by a dark brown frock coat.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Likes: Lavender, the works of William Shakespeare (especially Sonnet 20), salmon.
Dislikes: Parasites of any form, rats, the cold, blunt knives, mess.
Undecided about: Mr Maxey quoting (or misquoting) the works of William Shakespeare.
Physical Condition/Health/Disabilities: Since his return from overseas he has suffered from a poor constitution. He kept to himself with limited finances for three years since his return, before becoming a part of a mega corporation. He appears to be unhealthy in general, being overly thin and often pallid. The true nature of his illness is not something he wishes to share.
Talents: A qualified medical surgeon with speciality in paediatrics. He has worked his way (possibly illegally) into the management of the corporation he joined.
Family: Married, but his partner is unknown. Overprotective aunts he tries to avoid. He visits his parents on occasion. He has one adoptive daughter: Eevee.
Goals/Life’s ambition: His true life’s ambition is private.
Bad Habits: He is a secretive being by nature.
Happiest memory: His happiest memory is a private affair.
Equipment: Although he still possesses the tools of his previous trade, he tends to carry little save for what can fit within the confines of his coat pocket: a mobile phone, a notepad, a pen, a bottle of antibacterial hand gel.
History/Bio: A highly private man, very little is actually known about his life before he came to settle in London, and even less is disclosed by Horatio himself. After training in London, he worked abroad with an aid organisation for several years. He became unwell overseas and eventually returned to England to convalesce, the exact dates of these happenings are unknown.
Possessing joint-citizenship, he moved to America to work for Klinton Co (now Castle Corp) as some form of investigator.
Over the next five years, he gained rank in the corporation Klinton Co, before taking over management almost overnight in a shock move.

Horatio Castle is a powerful man in many ways, despite his obviously human frailties. His assets are massive, his staff larger, and he is renowned for hiring dangerous people for less than savory jobs.

He owns Wing City Hospital, which he commissioned to be built through charitable foundation with an injection of his own funds to get it off the ground. He is protective of this venture, and will happily take steps to defend it. He has several emergency medical facilities set up around the city, so that, in the eventuality of the hospital having to close, he would easily be able to start up elsewhere away from the main site.

So begins...

Horatio Castle slipped quietly into the room, far too wrapped up despite the weather; the balaclava was a little much, even if it was cold outside. Thick layers bundled up to make him look several times larger than he was, an illusion that was rectified when he began stripping them off at the coat rack. An outer coat, a over-large jacket, a thick jumper, hat, scarf, gloves and balaclava were stacked on the hooks in an organised fashion, leaving the faintly frail looking man still wearing a turtle-neck sweater, padded trousers and snow boots.

Horatio Castle slipped over towards the bar to take a seat, shoulders hunched against the imagined cold and hands curling together in an attempt to increase circulation. He lifted a finger in the hope of catching a bartender, though he doubted that one would come to him; he had brought a flask of tea just in case.

Horatio Castle was a little taken aback when some form of animal chose to burrow into his pocket unannounced, given the fact that most creatures didn't react in such a manner. He had hardly been given time to get over the surprise when both the bartender and a woman chose to speak to him.

"Uh, no, miss, the rabbit isn't mine," he replied before gesturing towards the bartender with a faint smile. "Tea, please, with milk and one sweetener. Would you like anything?" he asked the woman.

Horatio Castle could feel his coat being chewed on, but seeing as he didn't want to get bitten by a rabbit (rabbits, in his opinion, had ridiculously large teeth and were worse than dogs for biting) he ignored the creature. "Rhito," he told the woman, "It's a pleasure."

Horatio Castle thanked the man quietly, though the tea looked- far from pleasant; he really did hope that the man had refrained from spitting in his cup, though from the looks of it he was out of luck. He hoped that he wouldn't die from drinking it.

"I'm a writer, but not a very good one, I'm afraid," he said in response to the woman's question, a rueful smile on his face as he took a sip of tea. He'd been right; it was vile.

Horatio Castle wasn't quite sure what she was talking about, but nodded and smiled in the hope that it was the right response; it was hard not to pull a face at the way the tea tasted, but he managed. "I've not been here before."

When talk of killing was bandied about his eyes slipped to the side for a moment, but soon they returned to the woman he was speaking to. His expression never changed.

Horatio Castle took a sip of his drink, which wasn't tasting any better the further he got through the cup. Truly, it was revolting, and seeing as the bartender no longer seemed to be watching... he picked the cup up and emptied the contents into the nearest flower pot.

Horatio Castle looked a little unsettled for a moment but the expression soon passed; he cleaned around the inside of his mouth with his tongue, feeling what was certainly a residue... he hoped he wasn't catching anything from that cup of tea...

He noticed the woman, of course; she was hard to miss and he had more than enough photographs stowed away to make a positive identification.

Horatio Castle was apparently deep in thought at the counter, playing with his empty teacup without real focus.

Horatio Castle took out a pad and began to doodle cats on the very corner of a page; he liked cats, very much, but they encouraged bacteria into the home and it wasn't a risk he could realistically take (in his opinion). In reality, he didn't want the cat to die, or have to spend nights worrying that it would never come home, worrying that it would come home damaged...

Horatio Castle looked rather alarmed at the insensible giggling of some rocking person beside the fire; surely that wasn't normal? Surely that wasn't at all normal... he moved a little further into his quiet corner, still doodling cats.

Horatio Castle jumped at a loud noise and whirled around with wide eyes, a reaction just a little disproportionate to the event. He stared in blind alarm for a second before calming down- only to launch into a painful-sounding coughing fit.

Horatio Castle got a hold of himself relatively quickly, handkerchief pressed over his mouth. He cleaned his face then put the cloth away in his pocket, rubbing his eyes with his fingers to clear away the reflexive tears that had gathered there.

Horatio Castle seemed a little tired now and chose to move to a more comfortable chair, though not before selecting his thick jacket from the hook beside the door and wrapping it around himself.

Horatio Castle sat quietly at a table, looking decidedly gloomy tucked into what appeared to be three separate coats, a scarf and a woolly hat with a pom-pom on the top.

Horatio Castle grumbled to himself about 'fucking weather trying to freeze my nads off' as he pulled out his palmtop computer, poking away at it with a stylus; the large gloves that he refused to take off hampered him to no end, but he didn't want his hands to get cold.

Horatio Castle coughed, just once (probably because there was smoke in the air from the bomb that had just gone off) and decided that he was coming down with a fatal strain of- what was it at the moment? Swine flu? He shuddered. Oh, he was certain that it was- he'd caught some contagion from the unclean people in this bar! He was too young to die, especially from an illness caught from people who slept with pigs... in the intimate sense.

And now he was hallucinating- delirious- whatever.

Horatio Castle was sitting beside the door when what looked very much like an anthropomorphic snake made its way into the room. Needless to say he blanched to a further shade of white upon seeing it and froze, hoping that it hadn't seen him.
