Jennifer Tarouh pushed open the doors to the bar, glancing around with a grin on her face. "Ah, a bar. What a joy." She swiftly found a stool, and only took a few seconds to stare at the machines, before ordering a beer. A slight British accent was prominent as she spoke, simply watching the going-ons of the bar. "This looks like an interesting place to be," she muttered. "Maybe I'll find something to do."

The woman glanced over at the new arrival, smiling as she rose, and relocated to the seat next to him. A quick hand grabbed the beer she had ordered earlier on the way over. Her arm was casually thrown around his shoulder, and she cheerfully shook the man. "'Ello there. You also new here?" If there was one thing she wasn't, it was shy. Of course, she also wasn't normal.

But then again, at Gambit's, who was?

She took a quick swig before speaking again. "Ah, the bus. Of course. Well, let's get the formalities out of the way." She reached out to extend her hand, then realized that the glass in her hand had to be placed on the counter first.

She did so, and extended her hand in greeting again. "My name is Jennifer. Please, just call me Jen. Yourself?"

"Nice to meet you, Eli." she replied, before finally taking her arm off of him and placing it on the counter. "So, what brings you --" she began, but raised at eyebrow at his pocket. "Shouldn't you get that?" This was topped off by another quick drink, before bringing her gaze back to focus on him.

This lack of energy had not gone unnoticed by her, and in a split-second decision, she decided that she would have some fun. A pocket flap flipped open and her fingers quickly reached for a card. "Fool," she whispered, placing the card to her forehead, where it became a mask. Instantly, her hair grew long and blonde, and her body became more well-endowed. Essentially, the person who had just been present was replaced by an attractive young woman.

"Adult, are you?" The voice didn't change, still holding its slight British accent.

Her eyes twinkled as the mask slipped back off into her hand, becoming the same card. It quickly returned to her pocket, as she let out a small laugh. "Bugger me. I thought you weren't paying attention to me." she commented, before taking a sip of her own drink. "I hear the usual is about two minutes, but maybe the word's wrong." Jen glanced over at him with an appraising look.

"I don't judge anyone by their looks. The word also says that's especially important here."

"I bet you're right, though I also haven't been around long enough to confirm what you say." she agreed, nodding at his words. "Of course, I doubt we're from the same place, but it's the thought that counts, right?" Subconsciously matching his pace, she downed the rest of the cheap beer, and waved down a robotic bartender for a refill. She grinned, shaking her head. "I meant your physical looks, not the one on your face. Though I suppose I wouldn't judge you for that one, either."

"So what brings you here, then?"

"The country, eh? Sounds like you've been on a fun ride. Or maybe you're looking for one." she said, partially thinking out loud. "Just one city to another for me, but I guess we're not as different as I thought, eh? Besides, everyone loves cheap lodging and drinks." She wrinkled her nose slightly, and grimaced. "Working..not so much, but I guess it's necessary."

As an extremely later afterthought, she asked, "So, anything different about you?"

"Well, I guess that still warrants you as different, and I guess it actually makes you unique in a place like this." she noted, before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a set of eight slim tarot cards, spreading them out on the counter. "You didn't exactly ask, but this is about the extent of my difference."

Jen beamed at him, nodding. "Yep. Good on you for paying attention. Well, actually, words, not so much, but you get the idea." She placed a finger on one, tapping on it. "The Fool. You saw this one." Her finger moved down the line, pointing the others out. "Devil. Priestess. Magician. Chariot. Justice. Hanged Man. Sun." A hand was brought up to scratch her head. "There are 21, but I have no idea where the others are."

Vyn shook himself out of his surprise, and bent over to pick up the book, tucking it under his arm. With a slow step, he walked towards his daughter. The bear vaguely caught his attention, but it wasn't extremely out of place. You see one dancing bear, you see them all.

"Hey, erm..." he paused, trying to think of something to call her, but settled for, "Cinder. I..just wanted to say, sorry for earlier. I guess I was just reacting...badly to the news. Sorry about everything."

"I would say that I disapprove of your clothes and all, but a) that would be something your mother would do, and b) I do not, really." He sighed, standing awkwardly for a second, before stretching out his hand. "Care to give me a drink?"
