Krass Tsunami's Story

Krass was in his element. The ocean. With great pulses of his eight tentacles he shot forward, then halted, then shot forward and halted. On his face was an oxygen tank, an unfortunate necessity despite being part maritime creature. He didn't mind so much though as he got to explore the deeper parts of the ocean freely thanks to his near tireless lower half. His upper half was currently bare and his hair was brown.
She was much faster than he was, making it pretty much impossible for him keep up, but his head still turned to watch. He raised a hand to hopefully gesture something she would understand, thumb and finger in a circle to form an 'O' shape, as if to say 'Okay'. Not that he understood her, he was just hoping that she knew diving signals.
What was she doing? Or, well, saying? With a shake of his head, he reached for the mouth piece of his oxygen tank and removed it, then tried to speak, but obviously nothing comprehensible came out. He put the mouthpiece back in and continued breathing.
Krass tapped at the shell and spoke into the mouth piece. Words came out a moment after. "Hi, I'm Krass. I dive around here. I can't under- well I guess I can now."
He pulled a face behind his facemask, then offered out a hand to shake.

He tilted his head and dropped his hand at once. "What." It was all that came out before he managed to quickly recover and add, "No, where I come from we shake hands to greet, sorry. Can we go to the surface? It's easier for me to talk."
He checked his oxygen, then followed her all the way up to the sandbar. Then he finally removed his oxygen tank and set it down. "Hey," he said, "Can we start over? I'm Krass. I'm a local diver turned uh... Squid." He gestured for his legs, which were, well, tentacles. A whole bunch of them, just laying about, unable to support the weight of his upper half. It made him always seem like he was lounging about like a swim wear model.
He blinked, then shook his head. "No its fine and no I'm not looking to fornicate, pretty as you are. I was just looking to see what fish were around here. And I prefer it if you call me Krass, not squid.
"So, who're you?"
"So, who're you?"
"I bet," he said with a nod, "With a title like that sounds like you're a prize catch, excuse the pun." Oh he just loved fishing humour. "But hey, no fish wants to be caught. Fish just want to swim where they want, am I right or what?"
He read the text, then his eyes moved back to her with what was meant to be an understanding nod, except he didn't really have much understanding. "Yeah its pretty unfair on you. But if your home is ever in trouble, feel free to ask for Krass Tsunami. I'll lend a helping tentacle."
He waved his tentacles one after the other playfully. "Impressed?" Actually he was a mutant human, but the joke was still there. "Actually, is your home nice looking? I might visit it some day if its not too deep."
He looked up to the sun also, then back to her. "Oh? Okay, well, nice meeting you Sanuk. Maybe I'll dive around your area again and we can catch up sometime?"
