A young witch wandered into the woods, her impish familiar not far behind. Perhaps she had come to gather mushrooms and other ingredients for potions and such. As she roamed around one area of the woods, picking out the mushrooms and herbs she could find, she seemed to have not yet noticed the man she had met at the bar that was now closed, who seemed to be doing target practice on a few of the trees and other inanimate things. "Hmm...I still need a few more for my research." the witch frowned, looking at her barely filled basket of potential potion ingredients.

"Sayu thinks we're not having very much luck here." the red-haired Imp girl replied. "Maybe we should try somewhere else."

"Oh, hi mister...Jericho, was it?" the witch replied, extending an arm for a handshake. She knew nothing of the other group that was discussing something of their own elsewhere in the woods. "Did you happen to come across my friend I asked you about yet?" she asked, wondering if Jericho had seen her friend, Lorelai, anywhere recently.

Sayu too, was unaware of the others' presence. Not that it mattered to her too much, since they probably weren't anybody she or her master knew. "Sayu thinks that was a pretty lame joke, Mr. Jericho." the imp said, thinking the man was trying to be funny by saying 'Well there's some familiar faces', since she was the young witch's familiar.

"Joke?" Jericho asked the imp curiously."No, I haven't seen him. But I have been keeping an eye out for the man. Don't worry I'll keep looking." He shook her hand with his real right hand."Now what's a young girl like yourself doing all the way out here? Its not safe." He stated. His lower arms crossed themselves as he watched the girl and her familiar."I mean, don't get me wrong, you can probably handle anything that comes along, but why here?"

"18 isn't that young. And I am a witch, I could probably handle myself if anything or anyone were to threaten me." Matoya replied to the man who had robotic arms in addition to his normal ones. "But, I came here to look for some unique herbs and mushrooms that only grow in these woods. I figure they might help further my magic studies."

Sayu had nothing to say at the moment, doing nothing more than keeping herself in the air by flapping her tiny, bat-like wings.

A young, silver-haired woman wandered into the town of eternal shade, Verinotte Hollow. She was not just an ordinary teenager though, she was a witch. This fact was made fairly obvious by her attire which consisted of a short dress with blue and yellow stripes, and detached sleeves, as well as a pair of blue boots, and the signature steepled hat.

Accompanying the witch was a tiny, semi-humanoid being with bat-like wings. The red-haired imp flapped her wings and hovered after her master. "Sayu is tired, are we here to find a place to sleep? Please tell me that's why we're here. Sayu could really go for a nice, comfy nap right now." the imp girl said to the witch, referring to herself in third person.

The setting changes from Verinotte Hollow to Forest Border

Wandering out from among the trees, were two figures. Both feminine, though one was much smaller than the other and well...winged and floating. The human however, seemed to be no ordinary teenage girl, as made clear by her attire and the wooden staff she carried. Hanging down by straps on her right shoulder, was a medium-sized pouch, which may have held perhaps a book of some sort and a few other objects. Perhaps she had come here in search of magically attuned herbs, mushrooms, flowers, and such for her research. She was after all, not a full-fledged witch yet, but rather an apprentice or an 'acolyte' as some might say.

Blinking a few times at the two figures emerging from the forest, various outcomes of what could happen passed through his head. They could be dangerous... or they could just be some ordinary bystanders. Of course, it was always his job to protect the innocent, so it would probably be best to ask them what they were doing there in the first place. Making his way to the two, Quote's eyebrow quirked upon spotting the winged girl. Oookay... that's not normal... but then again, nothing about this place was normal.

"...E-excuse me... uh... have you seen anything odd around these parts... I mean... uh... odder than usual..." he asked, his voice somewhat scratchy from under use.

"No, I don't believe so. What do you mean by odder than usual though?" the young witch asked, unsure what the robot boy could be talking about. "It's not me and my imp that you're concerned about, is it?" she asked.

"Sayu hasn't seen anything out of the ordinary either. At least, nothing out of the ordinary for this world." the red-haired imp girl said, hovering next to the witch's left shoulder.

"You know... any strange lights? Weird energy? Explosions? You know... that sort of stuff?" he asked, blinking a few times, brushing aside a few strand of black hair away from his eyes. "A-ah, probably not, miss. I just heard there's been strange things happening around here for the last few days and I decided to stop by to investigate..." the android continued to explain, adjusting his cap somewhat, the metal plate bearing the words 'CURLY BRACE' reflecting somewhat in the sunlight. The fact that Quote was an android was WELL disguised... in fact, he looked like a deathly pale teen around seventeen years old.

"Well, I'm sorry, but I don't know anything to help you with your investigation." the witch replied. "Oh, my name's Matoya by the way. Nice to meet you." she smiled. "I believe you already heard the imp say her name."

"Sayu is happy to make your acquaintance as well." the imp nodded.

Both of them knew nothing of any strange happenings near the forest, and they seemed harmless enough. The witch, Matoya, wasn't much older than the pale-skinned boy looked to be, and the imp could have been anywhere from twelve or so to just about any older age. It was difficult to tell with imps due to their naturally childish appearances. Sayu however, was most likely on the younger side of the scale.

"Oh... it's... it's okay. I'm sorry for bothering you..." he apologized, a sheepish smile on his face. "Oh... uh... I'm Quote... nice to meet you two as well..." the android continued, nodding his head a bit. "I'm... sorry to have bothered you..." he continued, an apologetic smile on his face, before looking over at Sayu.

"...Uh... miss Sayu... hope... you don't mind me asking, but... uh... what are you? You have... well... wings..." Quote asked. He was pretty curious about why Sayu had... uh... wings. That wasn't a pretty normal feature for humans, after all.
