Personality: Morwenna is often told by acquaintances that she is too serious. But if they'd take the time to really get to know her, they would understand that she is simply quiet and shy. Growing up under their mother's harsh expectations, she has become somewhat insecure and and takes criticism much too seriously. She's passionate about art and writes in a journal every night to rid herself of her deepest, innermost thoughts. She blossoms when she is around her sisters, allowing herself to smile and even join in on whatever game they've decided to play. She trusts her oldest sister more than anyone and tries her best to follow her examples. But the only time Morwenna is ever truly herself is when she is outside in the sunshine, riding her horse or playing with the dogs. She could spend hours laying in the sun, sketching the hills or collecting flowers. But she is never able to wander the property for long, because a lady, as her mother repeatedly reminds her, should never be alone.
History
When Morwenna was born, she came quickly and proved immediately was a spectacular pair of lungs she had. Because of the way she stormed into the world, as if she could not wait to experience life, her father insisted they name her "Morwenns", which is Welsh for "White Seas". He predicted that she would be the wildest, most untamable of his children and for the first part of her life, Morwenna proved him correct. She was a headstrong child that was forever breaking things as she crashed through the house, dancing and laughing, or scraping her knees and dirtying her clothes. She idolized her older sister and adored her father, who was always quick to return her adoration. She drove her mother, however, insane with her constant chattering and unruly behavior. And this is why she was sent away to boarding school. While there, something changed inside the girl. Her severe, harsh teachers allowed for no mistakes and any girl who showed any signs of excessive frivolity was punished. When Morwenna returned home at the age of 16, she was an entirely different person.
Her mother beamed with pride as Morwenna demonstrated every trait desirable in a young lady. Her stitches were perfectly small, her handwriting was neat and legible, and she never spoke unless spoken to or made a mess of her clothes or broke the dishes. But inside, Morwenna harbored a secret restlessness. She longed for any life different from her own. Her only repose became her sketch pad and journal. With these tools she could let her imagination wander and pen out her deepest thoughts and dreams. And it was only when she was with her sisters that her old smiles and laughter slipped out to light her face once more.
