A Ragatran mage, one of the new age of casters!

0 · 1,646 views · located in Eat Out - Tierge's Resturant

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Moonscar, as played by Sennen

Description

[Under Construction]

Image

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Race: Ragatran Mage

Appearance: Nerio is a bright young man with ash blonde hair that falls right below his earlobes and a face that is only vaguely effeminate, what with his pointed chin and bright eyes. He has a lean build and typically wears anything from leather jerkins and breeches to normal, modern day t-shirts and breezy button-downs. His hands are somewhat calloused, the cause of years using various weapons to fight.

Equipment:

Staff

Spells:

'Holy' Spells: Nerio dabbled constantly into the lighter magics, which often gave the other Ragatran a reason to prod and tease him...that is, until they found out he was quite gifted with healing magic.

  • The Paladin's Threads:Nerio summons golden threads to his fingers that can be used to patch up wounds and cleans them of infection. Not only that, but he can thread it through clothing, as well, to enhance their defensive properties. If he gets creative enough, they can even be used as a weapon against the undead and those who use dark magic.
  • Minor healing: Just as it sounds, this allows for the mage to heal bruises and small cuts.
  • The Warden's Spires: White spires of light will fall down from the heavens and either pin down or surround the target, either defending them or caging them. It can ward off the undead and defend against many spells and attacks.
The second level of this spell, 'The Warden's Prison', takes up so much mana that Nerio has almost never used it. It completely empties his mana reserves from being full. There is nothing more morally challanging than the unguarded mind of a mage, a nascent or unprepared magican that falls into the effect of this spell finds themself stuck in a cage of white light, pale steel, and golden bars. While able to enclose individuals, it is also able to lead people on a morale challenge, posing problems in their minds.
  • Blade of Light: Allows Nerio to unleash a blade of light that flies at the target at an incredible speed. This is part of the Ragatran's 'swift', destructive combat' strategy, much like Fei's Mana Sphere's.

Pyromancy: Though a small-fry in this area, what he can do he does well.

  • Searing Flame: A lance of fire, the Searing Flame can inflict a lot of damage when it hits something directly and can even set objects it passes by aflame from it's heat. Highly accurate, but difficult to use as it is a first rate combat ability.
  • Spiral Blaze: Slamming his palms on the ground, flames will erupt outward in a fiery tornado from Nerio, flaring up with a radius of up to six feet.

Arcane Magic:

  • Mana Split: This makes it so Nerio doesn't have to exert too much physical energy while he fights, using mana reserves that he has pocketed away, instead.
  • Pulse Point Extending his hands outward, Nerio will let off a pulse of energy that can throw back an enemy with frightening force.

    Light Geomancy:
  • Mold: Allows Nerio to manipulate the earth and create structures. None of them are powerful, nor are they big, but it's good enough for hiding out and shielding one from the elements.

"Hrn..." Grumbled Nerio, who had not noticed the dragonic being at all. No, he was much too concerned with these wounds on Ersilia's arms. He twisted her arm around carefully, catching full view of them. He noticed that her arms were surprisingly fleshy. He thought she would be more plastic than that, but then again, how else would she get those bruises?
"Stay still, okay? Don't flinch," he told her, then taking her other hand and smoothly running his fingers over her skin. No beam of light would form at his fingers, nor would a glow occur. No, Nerio found those to be horribly cliché and flashy for healing, which was a serious thing. Not childs play, like fighting was. Instead, the girl would feel a cooling sensation dancing right under her skin, very much like mint felt on one's tongue. The bruises would lighten in color, then slowly shrink.

"Damn angels. I hate them all. They have no right."

"You're completely normal for what you are, you're just not human," he informed her, dropping her arm. He rubbed his fingers together, feeling the aftereffects of a healing, as if he had goopy pointment in between the digits. He flicked his hand, always a bit disgusted. "And, like I said before, there's nothing wrong with not being human."

Nerio grumbled, tapping his foot impatiently. Really, now, humans were too damn horrible. Here the girl was, fragile and harmless as a cat without tooth or claw, and they were shoving her away from seeing her creator. "Listen, you are going to be misunderstood your whole life," he began, trying to ignore the random people that constantly flitted by. "But it will only be terrible if you allow it to bother you. You are what you are, nothing more, nothing less. There is nothing wrong with you."

It was at this time that the mage turned his head, catching sight of the blind man with the cane. Now, being a Ragatran, Nerio would not have cared much, but there was something about him that caught his attention. He really couldn't be sure. "Something you need, sir?" He asked, running his fingers through his choppy blonde hair.

Interesting creature...I wonder what it must be, thought Nerio, who, as a Ragatran, was curious by nature. The mage turned to place himself beside Ersilia and face the blind man. "Old friend, hmm? Kind of strange to see something unidentified around these parts," and especially for someone like me. "What might he be? And who might you be, if you don't mind me asking."

To the kitten he simply glared. He wasn't much of a cat person. That was Fei's forte.

The mage nodded to Ersilia as she went off, deciding not to follow her, for he figured the girl wanted to have some time for just her and her creator. It was a rather tender moment for her, he guessed.
Turning his full attention to Michael now, the mage coughed into his fist, clearing his throat for further conversation. "Absol, hm? Never heard of them. Fascinating creature, truly," he told Vance, taking a few steps toward him, books thumping on the ground. "I am Nerio, nice to come into your acquaintance."

"Ah, well, most of us try to have unique names, at least," he told the man, rolling back his shoulders and giving an odd, quizzical look to the Absol. He hadn't even the slightest idea what Pokemon really were. The doglike animal baffled him. "Does he act like a seeing-eye dog?" The mage asked, part of his mind wondering about Ersilia. Bless the girl, feeling so strongly about someone like that. She would be in so much pain afterwards. Some piece of his heart that wasn't blemished with pride went out with her.

"What do you mean 'sometimes'? Forgive me if I'm being rude but...you are blind," he stated, though he looked the man in the face curiously. He rubbed his fingers together out of habit, then sniffed. As yet another strange, impish creature came around, he stared wise-eyed and curious. "What a thing! Sableye, you called it? You must have a lot of these strange animals." He said, nodding. However, part of his thoughts were still on that girl. He was uncomfortable because of it. Not only that, but another energy, similar to his own, seemed to be lingering about the place. Why was that?

He hadn't noticed the detective. He was in his own space, out of the reach of Nerio's sight or hearing.

"More, you say?" Came the mage, now more interested than he ever had been before. "Do they get anymore...unique?" He asked, raising a blonde eyebrow. The Sableye and the Absol were already another strange, unique make of their own, though they vaguely reminded Nerio of animals that he had already seen, himself. Maybe they were experiments? Even different types of dogs, humanoids, and the like?
The mage's mind was briefly taken off from the thought as the large catman came sauntering towards them out of his car. Nerio was instantly cautious. He didn't like law; he had done too many crimes in Wing City already!

"Hm. I have too many questions for the moment, and it seems that we have company," said Nerio, eyes still on the detective. His bright yellow eyes seem to darken in color, though it could have been the trick of the light. You could never be sure with mages. He listened as the catman addressed Vance and questioned him.
Well, well, what could all this be about, now? Nerio looked from the blind man to the detective, and did this twice more. He might have hopped onto something interesting today.

Being a man of high magical power, Nerio was not surprised to hear the voice within his head that had a striking resemblance to Vance's own. The young man got the idea quickly, only the blink of an eye registering his temporary confusion. Trying to send back the same telepathic message, figuring that he must have opened up some sort of contact between them, Nerio described away. 'Large bipedal cat, black fur, wearing an overcoat and tie,' he relayed to the blind guy, hoping he would get the message.
Nerio tensed his muscles, ready for trouble.

Nerio wouldn't do much here but look between detective and trainer. He hadn't much to say here, and the man hadn't sent him back a message in return, so he had to assume that he'd gotten it and was now processing the information.

Lets see, there was something about a woman, here. Asian decent with violent tendencies? Haha! Didn't he know a couple of girls like that, ah? How interesting.
However, he soon found that the energy he had felt earlier was growing closer. He knew who it was, and he didn't need to chance and encounter. He turned to both men and bowed a slight bit. "Sorry, gentlemen, it seems I have something urgent to get away from." He said, then turning heel and running at high speeds in the other direction.

How convenient that yet another Ragatran was walking down the same street, dressed himself in a sleeveless v-neck shirt and, well. A pair of very baggy shorts. Even the witches were casual today, it seemed. He wasn't thinking anything of the girl that was walking down the street towards him...that is, until he got close enough to see her face.
Both he and the girl looked up at the same time, and they stood frozen for a very long time. Then, all of a sudden, Feila put on a deadly grin, bending her knees low and slipping her feet out of her flip-flops. "Well, well! Who thought I'd see someone like you here, mm?" She said, taking a step toward him.
Nerio turned heel and ran.

"You caused me to get stabbed, if you don't remember properly!" The witch yelled angrily, completely missing the lad in her leap, though she loaded up for a next. Though, she paused, arching one leg out in front of her to expose the healing scab high on her thigh. It was a deep wound, but it was getting better. "I'm not forgiving little snots like you for helping someone stab a stake into my flesh!"

Nerio stopped as he heard the scuffle behind him, turning around to watch them. He was conflicted here. On one hand, he didn't want the lad to get hurt. It was that slight kind nature of him that reached out to people.
On the other hand, he was terrified of Fei. She was a horrible person! "Gyaaah..." he growled, taking a hesitant step toward Zachery.

"You better let me go, Nerio...you'll get worse punishment than before if you don't!" Cried Fei, twisting her ankle to try and get it out of the mage's grip. No use, his grip was firm. The mage leaned over to whisper in Zachery's ear, since he was still currently behind him. "Either stab her or do something surprising. She may be a witch but she's still a teenager, just like you and me. She'll run off if you make her face red enough," he told the boy, currently applying a stunning magic into the witch to stunt her movement for the time being.
The witch noticed, too. "Ey! Leggo! Stop that!" She scowled, raising a hand to break his spell.

"Now, quick!" He told the young boy, backing up in fear of getting hurt.

"Well...I didn't quite mean something like that, but I suppose that works..." Said Nerio, letting go of Fei's leg as she witch's hands shot out, turning her head away from the smooch and gasping for air.
Indeed, the girls face glowed a shocking red. "Who do you think you are!" She spat, raising her arm to backhand the boy across the face. Nerio took this chance of weakness and swiped his hand toward her stomach, sending a bolt of light toward her body. The girl flew backwards into the windshield of a parked car, cracking it as she did. She lay there, motionless and groaning in pain.

"Well, that's our queue to run, friend!" Said Nerio, taking Zachery by the shoulder and attempting to pull him the other way.

Nerio stopped at the sound of the river, planting one hands on his knee and breathing heavily. He put her other hand to his chest as he coughed. His endurance wasn't wonderful these days; he'd been out of practice, been living too comfortable a life. He looked back and searched for the boy he'd just saved, feeling his heart beat faster than an 808 drum. "Hey, kid, we made it!"

"I can't believe you did it either...but it distracted her long enough!" Exclaimed the mage happily, going right over to the boy to pat him proudly on the back. "An' she aint the worse face you're gonna kiss! I wouldn't complain if I were you, son!" He laughed, plopping right next to him and letting out a nice little sigh.
"And I really don't see why you're so concerned! I mean...ah...ah. Ah. Wait...might you be gay?" He asked, and none too shyly, at that.

"...confusing, you say," Nerio said, scratching his chin and the small bit of stubble that grew there. He laughed once more again and crossed his legs, watching the boy cleanse himself of the experience. "I mean...but she was a beauty, right? Fei. Some kinda girl!"

"Admiration? Well, the girl's got skill, sure, but..." he seemed conflicted as he raised his hands in front of him, as if trying to form the idea with his fingers. He squinted his eyes and let out a long, contemplative hum. "She's...pretty hot. Trying to kill me, sure. I'll never get back with her, not ever! Doesn't mean I can't dream!"
He looked to Zachery with puppydog eyes, as if pleading. "You understand that, right?"

"Yeah...that's why I kind of...that's why I'm running away from her. It wasn't worth her moods," Nerio informed the boy, resting his elbows on his knees. It was also a reason why he was straying away from magic. Everyone was going crazy for it! It was the only way he could get away from them, to go undetected! "So...what, ah. Oh! We don't even know each other. I'm Nerio, kid. Who're you?"
