Nima Arana looked up suddenly, blinking as she spotted Purity, the girl she had met only days before, beckon over to her. She returned a bright smile and skittered over quickly, her spider legs thumping and slipping on the floor as she did so. "M'comming!" She said, some of her arachnid accent showing through. She called her people the arachnid, because their language could not be spoken using human tongue.
She lowered herself onto the seat beside Amber and folded her legs. Which probably wasn't the best idea seeing as she wore a short dress, but she didn't seem to mind.
"An how ye be, Purity?" She greeted her. "Been safe, I hope?"
She then leaned in close, "...an' I hope that bracelet I gave ye came in handy?"

"Aye, an' I can help ye with that, easy!" Nima said happily, holding out her wrists to show Purity her display of bracelets and bangles, lining her arms almost to her shoulders. They came in various colors, sizes, with various jewels and stones.
"I can use these easy. Whatcha need to do is focus on sumthin'...think about it, and then say a word. Is tha' easy...but is also easy to misuse."
She put a finger to her lip and caught an abandoned glass half-filled with water. She put it in front of purity.
"Make the water freeze. Jus' look at it, and detect the source of magic in the bracelet. Ice be harder to use than fire, which is just raw power. Say the word, and concentrate on the water. Go on, try!"

"Oi, don't think tha'!" She huffed, crossing her arms and causing the bracelets and bagels to clank together. "Ye jus' concentrating, butcha gotta feel it, too! Magic aint a tool like machines, ye know! Ye have te' use ye mind correctly." She edged the glass closer to Purity and spread out her fingers toward it.
"Think freeze, but try an' search fo' the magic in tha' bracelet. Call out to Anganatra. She will aid ye."

"Ye see? I tol' ye you could do it!" She exclaimed, throwing up her arms in celebration, and right after attempting to hug the girl. "Ye can't doubt yeself! Specially when ye managed to even make fire. Ye can grow teh be a good magic user, if ye want."
She flicked a hand toward the glass, then put her finger in it and twirled it about, as if mixing the frozen water.
"Melt." She said, and the ice became water once more as she mixed it. "If ye good enough, ye can do lots, but if ye overdo it..."
She shrugged and bit her lip.
"Ye die."

Nima Arana hadn't detected the man. Or woman. Or whatever he was that night. She didn't know. She also had her bangs fallen back over her spider eyes again.
She shifted her arachnid legs on her back, folding them into a more comfortable position so no one would trip, step, or spill something on them.
Really. Humans. Absolutely no consideration for their fantistical counterparts. "If ye don' want te kill him, just shield yeself best ye can. But if ye can't handle him batting at the shield, cuz it takes energy te keep up, ye know? If ye can't handle it, just run. Run or attack, or something. Jus' don't keep it up longer than ye can handle."

"Hmm. I don't like this guy. Sounds like he has some sick fetish or some sort." She glanced at Purity from the corner of her eye, taking off a ribbon from her wrist and tying up her hair into high pigtails on her head. This pulled her bangs back and revealed the four, beady spider eyes on her temples and above her human ones, at the edge of her brow.
She wanted to keep a keen eye on this man, should he come in. She remembered, vaguely, what he looked like.
"Aye." I, too, am a virgin, however, at the sound of this guy, I don't want him to know if he's around. Sounds like a pervert that I don't want on my own tail.
"Ye should wait till ye are marr'd to a good man. I've had three husbands in the past, and none suited me well."
Because they all died, of course.
But she didn't do it.
Promise!
"Darius," She said. "Some man."

"Sadistic bas-" She nearly blurted out, spider appendages slamming down onto the ground and making a small 'boom!' as she raised a bit from her chair at hearing Purity's words. All of her eyes, spider and human, widened at her disgust.
Grotesque wasn't even half of it!
"He's a serial killer! We gotta kill him as soon as we can! Skin 'im alive, make a fur outta 'im, and then pin 'im up on the wall fo' ever'one te see!" She yelled loudly, breathing heavily.
She didn't like him. Not one bit!
"I 'ope ye give me th' pleasure in skinnin' 'im..." She muttered, settling down on her seat.

"I'm sure he does! 'e seems to care a lot 'bout you!" She said to Purity, winking as she did so. Though she doubted Veld was the romantic type, she couldn't think of a lot of other reasons such a man would help a very poor, innocent young lady.
Like the knights of Madeva, he was valiant, it seemed.
The kinda guy she liked herself, though she certainly wasn't searching for anyone. At Purity's little shiver, Nima whipped around, spotting the finger even before her head was turned. The eyes at her temples gave her excellent vision almost all around her head.
"Wha' d' ye think ye doin'!?" She screamed at Aurora. "Ye two-eyed bumrag!"
Insults were colorful.

Nima Arana took one of her long spider legs on her back and angled it toward Xavier. It was sharp at the end, almost like a tool used for stabbing. "I don' be sayin' nothin', but he best watch his own mouth, too. I got bangles and I got legs. He can do wha' he like for con'squences."
She attempted to take Purity's waist and draw her in closer to her, so if the time came, she would be able to protect her a bit better.
Her other hand extended toward Xavier as she grinned.
"I aint human, so ye' can't cannibalise me!"

Indeed, Nima's hand bounced off. Odd.
Was that magic she detected?
Possibly, but she couldn't follow it's source. How annoying. And bothersome.
She really did hate bothers. So much.
But then, a portal suddenly opened up in the wall, and the arachnid knew it was for her. She hated having to leave Purity.
She leaned over and whispered in her ear: "Remember the blessings of Anganatra. Use her magic. Use it te protect yeself."
She then skittered away, fast as she could on her spider legs, to the portal. "Farewell!" She said before leaving.

Nima Arana stroked Kirrian's hair as she sat back down, and immediately drew her hand back. She placed it in her lap and wouldn't look at her daughter.
She knew what she was thinking.
'Human.'
She had become too human.
"It is only her, you know," She said to the small eight year old. "I'm not the same to every human I pass by."
Kirrian, however, narrowed her eyes at Parlene. No...mother. She wanted her to call her mother. She did not speak, though. She would not be for a while. To distract herself, the black-haired child let her eyes wander once more.
She spotted the First.
"...father?"

Th-thump, thump, thump!
The noise of what some would think to be heavy hooves thundered onto the floors of Gambits, the owner opening the door with a loud creak.
She seemed to glide in, her blonde hair following her like a ghost. Except...she didn't walk in. Not like a normal person would at all.
In she walked upon the four spider spider legs that sprouted from her back. They were long, brown, four-segmented things with wickedly pointed ends. They dug into the floor with every steps.
The owner, however, was a pretty thing, contrasting with the nightmarish appendages on her back. She was slender, with smooth dark skin and vibrant yellow eyes. She wore a simple green shirt with the back split open and jeans shorts.
Nothing special at all.

The flash of lightning lit up the dark sky outside of Gambits, and clouds gathered, grey and thick. Soon, the rumble of thunder rolled and echoed through the air, followed by light rain. It was not long until it began to pound upon the cement outside, every drop like a heavy baseball landing after a long decent. Wind rustled the trees, whistled through cracks in the building.

Th-thump, thump, th-thump.
The dull sound of something hitting ground, similar to hooves, but more irregular, was heard outside of Gambits. It became louder, mixing in with the thunder, until they paused outside of the door.
Slowly, weakly, did the doors open, revealing a sight that was torn to peaces. It was a girl, young, it was no doubt, with a slender, tanned body and long blonde hair, soaked down her back in a mop. She wore only a ripped up, dirty t-shirt that went past her thighs. It might have been white once, but it was brown now.
The strangest sight, however, was that she was not walking on her legs.
Or...at least...not her human legs. She wondered in weakly on four spider appendages sprouting on her back.

Thump, th-thump, thump, they went.

The girl with the spider legs upon her back stumbled to the right, the appendages scrambling madly to set her straight again. Her whole body hung limp, her arms drooped, her legs dangled beneath her. She raised a fist briefly to cough into it, and nearly bumped her head on the ceiling as she accidently inhaled spit breathing back in, which caused her to jump backwards just a bit.
Though, with Nima, nothing was 'just a bit'.

Looking up, Nima briefly looked over Charlotte, raising a slender eyebrow, but collapsing in a chair from fatigue and hunger. She wished desperately for some food...
Someone said duck?
That would have been perfect...even raw.

She folded her spider legs into each other, the tips of each digit curling into the joints. Now somewhat standing on her human legs, she remembered how weak they were, how she didn't often use them. They shook, and as she tried to get out of the chair, collapsed again, laying her head onto the table, dripping water everywhere.

The steak came, though it was given to Charlotte, who had ordered the thing first.
Nima was sloped onto the table, feeling her large stomach let out a growl. She grasped the ends of the tables with brown fingers, the fingernails chipped and broken.
With effort, she looked up, the smell of meat floating past her nostrils.
Cooking meat.
Swiftly, Nima unfolded the spider appendages, and all four of them thumped down onto the ground with a loud boom.

When the steak was given to her, Nima looked up to Charlotte for only half a second, all eight of her eyes opening and looking up to the woman. The six spider ones, which accompanied her human ones, almost looked like moles that were placed on the side of her face; above her eyebrow, on her temples, and below the corner of her eye.
Like beauty marks.
But nothing was all too beautiful about the way she tore into the steak, grasping it with both hands and taking a large bite, with no partial interest between fat, meat, and bone. Hard, sturdy teeth allowed her to eat it without chipping even one.
Juice flew everywhere, dripped from her cheeks, off her chin, and onto her lap.

The spider woman finished eating the steak, and not a morsel of it was left. Only juice, and she'd almost gone for that, as well.
She leaned back into her chair, licking her lips slowly, all eight of her appendages flopping over the chair lazily.
That was the most full she'd been in days, though she could have easily eaten more.

"Maybe," Came a voice, tiny, weak, and raspy, though some kind of strength, possibly fueled by pride, hid behind it. She raised her hand to lick the juice from that, too, running her tongue from each finger. She made a satisfied sigh and seemed to sink deeper into her chair.
"It depends on whether you mean I should be comprehensible or not."

"Hmm, so is that what this language is called? English...how strange." Nima said, rolling to her side, leaning on the back of her chair. She wiped her hands on her shirt, which more resembled an all-too-short dress than anything.
Her hair fell to the floor, making a wet squishing sound.
"I was...you know what it's like, having nearly not eaten in a week, with the exception of cockroaches outside of the dumpster? They tasted disgusting, too. But that steak was lovely," she told Charlotte, giving the woman a lazy half-smile, which managed to be somewhat dark.
"I'll have to thank you."
