Personality

Nora is typically the strong/silent type and despite her typical situation, she is very much a people person. She likes being around others but tends to end up study them rather than interacting like a normal person. That is, the rare times she's in a social setting. Though she has never had a steady relationship with a man she can be quite the flirt when she lets her guard down. Above all else, business is business and she knows her place.

Equipment

Against the advice of the military, she tends to not carry any weapon with her unless it's in a syringe.

History

Although her training was medical, her discovery of what laymen call "dead skin" launched her military career. The liquid serum that makes this weapon freezes organic cells on contact. Exposure to skin can cause patches that have to be surgically removed so the unaffected skin can heal in its absence. The devastation is truly felt when the liquid comes in contact with the circulatory system, sending replicating clots throughout the blood vessels beyond the vessel walls that are frozen at the site the dead skin was introduced. Originally, this serum was meant to speed medicine through the body more quickly and efficiently than traditional methods.

Nora Donovan wanted some good fatty food to fill her up and the burger they brought to the table would do just that. Taking another gulp of the refreshed water, she eyed her food before popping a french fry into her mouth. "Want a bite?" she asked the naga, turning the fries towards him. Moving a moment to heap the burger into her hands, she took a large bite out of it before wolfing down what was in her mouth and going for another bite. She was starving and wasn't afraid to show it.

Nora Donovan came down from the rooms above the bar, having found a place to crash up there for a price last night. She had actually gotten up some hours ago, going shopping to get clothes that weren't stained with sweat. Now, she was wearing a silky red button-up and a gray skirt, clicking around in her new modest heels. Now it was time for some food, which she ordered after taking a seat at an empty table. "Chicken salad wrap, please." she requested, smiling while adjusting her glasses on her nose. Today already felt worlds removed from her recent past. So long as it didn't come back to haunt her, she could start over again.

Nora Donovan smiled brightly, obviously well composed and, well, showered today. "Well look what just slithered in..." she joked, reaching for the coke that was just placed in front of her. Tucking her bangs behind her ear, she nodded towards him. "Good morning, Sameel. Did you get that business taken care of - whatever it was that drug you away so quickly yesterday? Hope it wasn't anything too taxing." Another sip of her drink would occur before she looked up at him over her glasses.

Nora Donovan pressed her lips together, considering his response for a moment. "Hm. Well it's good that you did it, then." was all she would comment on that, turning to look for her food to come out of the kitchen. It wasn't quite ready yet, it seemed. Sighing, she leans forward against the counter, crossing her arms loosely on the edge. She didn't want to pry into his life. After all, she certainly wouldn't want someone prying into hers, now that she probably had soldiers looking for her..."You gonna order some food, too?"

Nora Donovan seemed to be thinking about just that. "Do you eat like a snake too? Just...swallow it?" she asked, wrinkling her nose up a bit as she thought about it further. When her mind popped up another thought of where it all eventually went, she decided to hush about that, glad that her food had just arrived. She was honestly just curious about it, her scientific mind wanting to know it all. Besides, maybe if she befriended him, he'd be around to defend her if the wrong person found her, which she was sure would happen eventually.

Nora Donovan took a bite of her wrap before looking towards him again. "I find it fascinating, really. Does your jaw unhinge as well?" Another bite and a curious look proved that she she wasn't disgusted by the thought in the least. He was like her new science project, though this would be a study in his anatomy.

Nora Donovan leaned in close at sight of the fangs. "Woah..." like child at the science museum, her eyes go wide and she reaches out to touch them. Remembering the venom, she thinks twice and pulls her hand back. "That's really cool.." she marveled, finally containing herself to sit back in her seat. "You seem strong, too...Could you crush someone?" He really was impressive.

Nora Donovan wondered over him for a minute before she noticed how hot it was getting. The shot earlier had warranted a look in that direction, but what she had deemed as a simple bar fight was now escalating into something else entirely. "Uh, Sameel...If you'll excuse me, I'm going to head out before this gets intense. I really don't want to get mixed up in anything, and I have a feeling it just got unsafe here..." She tossed some money on the counter. "Could you pay my tab with that?" she said, standing up and leaving her half-eaten meal.

Nora Donovan let one of the Soviet guards walk down the stairs ahead of her, the other keeping close behind her. Her arms were full of folded up clothes and a bag while the soldiers carried their guns. She wasn't so keen on having so many weapons around her, but this had to be the safest way. Frowning a bit, she came off the final step, only to see that there were more guns to be concerned about. How could she not have realized what was going on before she got in the room?! Instantly dropping her stuff, she ducked and back tracked while the two Soviets got in on the fire fight.

Now abandoned by her guard, she turned to head away from the gas, going back up the stairs. God she wished she had a gun right now. It figured that now that she actually knew how to use one, she didn't have one. Seeing that others were evacuating the area, she paused in her escape to head back down into the gas-filled bar, posing as a mere civilian to get outside. Thinking it a bit conspicuous to just take off running, so she fought to slow her steps, looking about in dismay as many others were...

Nora Donovan locked her eyes on the approaching Aschen before glancing one last time at that purple light. It would be best for her to follow their orders right now. In the coat of her pocket, she ran her finger over the military ID she still had there, following the soldier's lead to go into the beam. She couldn't stop trembling as she gave another series of coughs and finally stepped under the light. All of the sudden, she felt her clothes getting lighter as her stomach seemed to do a flip.

"The hell is this..." she muttered, turning to look at the soldiers again. For a moment, she wondered if she should rid herself of that ID - but with this sudden weightlessness, would the thing just float around her? If she kept it in her pocket, would it stay there or would it still just end up confiscated? The latter at least left her a smidget of hope that she could make it through this without being recognized.

Nora Donovan only went through the shower if she was allowed to keep her skirt suit on, otherwise complying with their orders and suggestions. With the inhaler in hand, she took a breath of it while calming down her cough. She hadn't actually been in the gas that long, so she wasn't feeling the affects like the others were. Still, she played the part to fit in with the crowd, adding an occasional cough for good measure. There was no running now, there was only appearing anonymous and unimportant. She stood in the middle of the people, looking just as worried as the others.

Nora Donovan blinked at the request, quickly sliding her hand back out of her pocket, leaving the ID hidden away in the pocket. "ID? I..." she stuttered, showing her nerves. "I don't have it with me. I dropped it in the bar." Pausing to cough, she looked towards one of the others before her eyes went back to the Commander. "And if we have nothing to say? Will you still detain us?" she snapped at him with a sneer. She had done it again. She let that tongue get her into a bad situation. Looking away nervously again, she stepped back and headed towards one of the beds, ready to fade back into the background of faces.

Nora Donovan was growing more and more nervous, guarding her ID with her life as it could end her if discovered. When the siren came on and the lights changed, she stepped away from the medical bed and instead moved back against a wall where she found a rail to hold onto. Her legs were shaking from all the abuse they had had lately and she was barely keeping from sliding in her worn out shoes. Her new gray suit, however, was in excellent condition, doing a good job of hiding that ID.

Cursing under her breath, she wished that one of her escorts had somehow survived below and gotten word to the Soviets. They might be her only chance at rescue. For now, she just needed to stay unknown, avoiding the attention of the officers at all costs.

Nora Donovan had done her best to get through the portal, but by the time she had reacted, one of the soldiers stopped her. Still, she wasn't to slow to realize there was another opportunity there. Reaching into her pocket, she tossed the incriminating ID into the portal just before it snapped shut. Even if she hadn't made it, at least she wouldn't have that marker on her any more. One of the soldiers questioned as to what she was doing, to which she responded, "I dropped my credit card in there...It was in my hand and I just let go...Dammit, how am I supposed to get my miles now?" Swallowing, she hoped the story would pass while she ducked against the wall again and held on as the ship shook. For a moment, she wondered if it wouldn't be better for the ship to just be shot down. A fiery crash would be better than any fate the Aschen would choose for her once they realized who she was.

Nora Donovan looked to the woman soldier from the bar and sneered, what the hell had she done to her? Anyway, there were more pressing matters now - like the fact that she was shoved into the chair and strapped in. Grunting a bit, she did little to fight it off, knowing that she would simply be overpowered. Although she had had that time on the Coalition base, she didn't really go to the gym and build muscle. She was still just as weak as any Terran. Looking at the soldiers in the room she folded her lips against each other while formulating her plan.

Just shut up...For the first time in your life, keep your trap shut. They're going to find out sooner or later, but the later they did, the better chance she had at survival, right? She could do little but hope that she would be rescued. She never asked for this, she realized in her head, but God, did she hope she was valuable enough to save.

Nora Donovan took in a sharp breath just as the needle pressed in, soon letting out a high pitched scream at the pain. Even after the piece was in her, she still had shooting pains through her skull, tears instantly dripping from her eyes as she lurched forward.

"Fuck..." she muttered, sniffing and whimpering a bit as she tried to hold still and prevent any damage as she hung forward and gripped onto the armrests. Her nails, which were already in disrepair, are now broken from how she gripped the chair, but broken nails weren't what had just caused her all that pain. She was panicking now, a thousand anxious thoughts filtering through her head - what were they doing to her? They would know who she was, wouldn't they? They would know what she had done for the Coalition. She was damning herself!

Nora Donovan narrowed her eyes, tears still falling past the lids. "To screw you over." she said abruptly. Damn. She had made it, what, a few minutes before opening up that mouth again? She was prepared to go ranting to him, but instead she fell silent and closed her eyes as red formed around that needle in her neck. The trembling her body was suffering from made the spike in her neck that much more painful. She wondered what they would do with her now. Was torture in store? Was the needle just the beginning of the pain she was to endure? A twitch from her shaking body tore at the needle's penetration and she screamed out again, loud enough to penetrate the closed door of the room and resonate out into the hall. Perhaps a clip of the audio disturbance would reach the Soviets.

Nora Donovan was grateful for the biofoam that stopped the pain and filled the void. She still hung her head forward as they stood her up and got her back in binders. "Why don't you just roll over and die already?" she mumbled, eyes still shut as they headed towards the hall. By this point, she figured one way or the other she was going to die, so why not get a few zingers in first, eh?

Following the lead of Barrett, she goes forward, offering little resistance physically, but spouting insults whenever she had to chance. She was almost waiting for them to just haul off and deck her. "Idiot doesn't even realize when he's walking beside a civilian." she commented when looking towards Carver.
