Ori

Nearly ancient, this shapeshifter travels the galaxy in search of something new to entertain her.

0 · 1,052 views · located in Main Street

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Arluar

Description

Ori no longer remembers what her original form was, or who her parents were, actually. The form she defaults to is that of a beautiful blond woman. Her golden hair is a collection of unruly strands, bangs cut and split over her forehead. Her eyes are a crisp light blue, untainted by tears. Her form is lithe and made for the white dress she wears.

Personality

Elegant would be the word to describe this feminine collage of memories and experiences. She has been alive for longer than she can remember and she has gathered a lot of wisdom. Acting as a bit of a genie, she likes to challenge people to change or improve, often times investing her own money in them. She doesn't typically tie herself into someone else emotionally, knowing the relationship won't last long enough for her liking. She has also has had her heart broken countless times. She has learned to stay guarded and disconnected from that world. Lovers have begun to bore her, anyway. She's seen a lot and not much excites her anymore.

Equipment

Ori carries a blade with her, a fencing sabre. It is modifed to have a pointed tip and is thing enough to slice dells off of someone's skin.

History

Ori would be considered civilized in several cultures, having mastered hundreds of languages. When she isn't paying attention, she'll slip back into Tyronae, a language reserved for nobles on several planets. She seems to have a limitless wealth, able to throw money at her every whim. She no longer remembers, but she was once a noble wed to Duke Rother on an obscure planet in the multiverse. Even though she shirked her responsibilities after he died, she still has access to their wealth. She still wears her silver engagement ring.

The necklace she wears was given to her by an elven lover, made of rare blue gems. The stones are blessed and essentially give out an aura of 'good luck.'

Every hundred years, Ori finds a place to have her memory erased. She sorts through her memories and pulls out key ones to keep. She wipes away memories of lovers and acquaintances, leaving behind gems of wisdom, key languages, and important basic information, like how to pilot her ship. She does this because her memory actually fills up to capacity over the hundred years. Another big reason that she purges her memories is that things tend to lose their splendor over her lifetime. Nothing is new any more, nothing excites her, and nothing captures her imagination. When she walks away from the procedure, wonder is restored.

In her latest life, Ori has given birth to two boys, twins, who have since, in the span of a year, grown into adult shape shifters who own and run a ship bay in Wing City. They grow more independent every day and Ori often longs for reunions with the few people that used to be important to her, such as Odgerel, a fiery woman who once graced Ori's life at the time her twins were born. Days have become increasingly lonely for her, so she takes on hobbies randomly to occupy her time.

So begins...

Ori looked to Joy. "What planet are we on? I'm pretty sure it's free, whichever one it is..." Shrugging a bit, she looked back to Kat for her drink.

Ori sighed a bit. She mindspoke to Joy, "Look. I'm sure you're just trying to be friendly but I'm not here to meet people tonight. I just want a drink. If you can sit beside me without interacting, then I'd be glad to have you beside me." She smiled sweetly.

Ori suddenly appears standing behind Odgerel. As she materializes, she runs her hands down the other female's arms, embracing her from behind. Her lips passed Odgerel's ear to lay a kiss on her shoulder first before whispering, "My dear, how do you fare...? Do you wish for something to drink? My private quarters have an array of choices just for you..."

Ori presses her head to Odgerel's before planing a kiss on her cheek. "You shouldn't keep me waiting...No telling when I might pop." she added, retrieving her hand to run it over her now bulging stomach. The twins were making themselves known to the outside world. Ori gave her lover another nuzzle before slipping away, moving to exit the bar.

Ori came in to the bar and sat at a table. She was about to order some water when she realized that she could have some alcohol again. She ordered some fruity mixed drink and waited while looking around the room. She went as far as to sit back in the chair and kick her feet up on the edge of the table, her skirt falling in between her legs.

Ori uncrosses her legs and pushes up from the table where she sat with two blond men. Speaking to Kazen, she clears her throat. "Excuse me, Irishman. Would you mind putting that pistol away? There are children present." Looking back to one of the twins she was sitting with, she strokes back his hair and smiles softly. "Dear, why don't you take your brother and go on home? I'll be there shortly." she said to him. The twin 'boys' stood, kissed Ori on the cheek, and exited the bar.

Ori nodded briefly to the man she had asked to disarm. Then, her eyes went to the woman who had fired a shot of a moment earlier. The Irishman's words made Ori's normally pleasant smile turn sour. She turned her lip in and chewed on it for a moment, silent as she observed the two.

Ori normally wouldn't be one to meddle in others' affairs. But something about Anja's words struck a chord inside of this shapeshifter. Knowing that Kazen would be a bit distracted by all this, Ori stood and walked around behind him. She stood there, filtering in the other woman's words while her hand formed into a fist. Kazen reminded her of someone, but who? She couldn't remember. It was there, somewhere in her mind, but it wasn't. Still, Ori felt for Anja. When Kazen cursed in his final statement, Ori transformed her arm to be ripped with muscles. In a quick, powerful motion, she attacks to land a punch square in the back of the Irishman's head..."There. That's better."

Ori smiled. Her strength was in her defenses. At the sound of the gun firing, she takes on a teleporter's form and disappears. A few seconds later, she pops back into a physical form, attempting to kick the weapon out of the Irishman's hands. Moving as quickly as she could, she disappears again and shows up standing beside Anja, handing her the crutches.

Ori watched Kazen go down and took a step closer to Anja. "That's our que to go. Nice shot." Taking the other woman's hand, she concentrates to teleport the two of them elsewhere. Looking to make sure Anja made it with her crutches or if she had held on to be transported at all, Ori sighs a bit. She normally didn't let things get so out of control.

Ori had to go spend a few minutes checking in on her boys, but she left them to come back to the bar, curious as to how things played out. She was shocked to see the flames as she ported back into the room, but then her attention went to the woman she had defended that was now on the floor bleeding profusely. Letting out a growl, she narrowed her eyes at Kazen. Ori bulked up, forming new muscles all over her body. Now more of a match for the Irishman, she approaches quickly, ready to defend her 'friend' with another punch.

Ori took Kazen's hit hard and spun a bit, falling to one knee on the ground. Slowly standing up, she faces him, a ghastly sight herself with her neck bent and visibly broken, quickly turning blue. Though, as she rolled her head to the side, she healed right before their eyes. Refocusing, she breathes in through her nose before charging Kazen, her fencing sword suddenly drawn and whipping at him like a razor blade.

Ori dipped her head down and put her sword away, walking over to Anja while her muscles melted away. "Forgive me for interfering," she said softly. But then, Anja was down - and hard. Ori went to her knees beside the downed girl, checking to see that she was at least alive. Ori would do her best to get her to the hospital, disappearing when an ambulance showed up.

Ori came into the bar with two men escorting her, one on each arm. Her long blond hair matched that of the twin men. "So kind of you to walk me in, boys." she said to them with a coy smile. Slipping away from their arms, Ori turns to face them and plant a kiss on their respective cheeks. "Now go on home." Her eyes flashed to them as she added. "And don't open the door for strangers." The twins groaned a bit, rolling their eyes. "Mother, please." one said. Ori just laughed and dismissed them. "Good night, boys." Done with them, she turns to face the bar and approach it, taking up an empty seat beside Cashmere. "Vodka, please." Ori requested of the bar tender.

Ori was a bit bored tonight so when the light of a holograph glowed beside her, she turned her head to look. Mindlessly placing her hand on the hilt of her sword, she pulls at it so it no longer sticks out into the walkway behind her. Ori didn't realize she was staring as she looked at Cashmere's holographic design. "That's remarkable..." she said softly, mainly to herself. Since her memory wipe, many things were fascinating to her - especially this technology. Sitting up a bit as the bartender sets a glass of vodka in front of her, she finally looks away to take a drink.

Ori had her glass in her hand when what she had assumed was a incorporeal object came flying at her. Barely keeping from dropping the glass, she raises her opposite hand to catch the hologram. Blinking she turns it in her hand and feels its weight. "Aren't holograms...not there?" she questions, a bit stumped as to what this was exactly - or on how to phrase her question, obviously. Having put the glass down, she runs her now free hand sweeping through her long bangs and hair, pushing everything back. "I used to know a lot about crystals..." she said, again softly as if it were to herself. She didn't fully realize it, but more and more of her memories were being lost, whether they were supposed to be retained or not. Hundreds of years of memory wipes will do that to you.

Ori furrowed her brows in thought at Cashmere's question. Feel right? "Well, I have to say that 'feel right' is not a scientific term. So you can probably assume that it is not referring to aesthetic factors like cut or clarity - anything trivial like that. Perhaps you should be looking for something more mystical? However, I know very little on that side of things. Perhaps if my forms came with common knowledge I would be more useful to you." Ori smiled apologetically, her pretty features crowding each other as she gives an apologetic look. "I'm Ori, by the way." she appended, moving to hand the hologram back carefully.

Ori looked at her drink that wasn't finishing itself and quickly raised it to her lips and tilted it back. For some reason, she hiccuped as she put the glass back on the napkin. "There are many 'mystics' that frequent here. Perhaps it would be wise to ask their opinion as well. I'm sure they would know more than I." Shrugging a bit, Ori puts her hands down on the bar. "Do you always guard yourself?" she asks, switching gears. "I'm curious, is it a telekinetic talent you have or just a power over force fields?" Her questioning is cut short, however, as Shio speaks to Cashmere. She listened in but didn't regard Shio with her eyes. This was Cashmere's business, not hers.

Ori smiles and turns on her stool to finally look at Shio. It seemed that suddenly Cashmere was very popular. Growing a bit jealous, Ori starts to change forms. Bit by bit, her body changed until she was a mirrored image of Cashmere. Smiling to the other woman, she chuckles a bit before speaking, sounding exactly like Cashmere. "I thought maybe we could split up your fans since you're so popular tonight. Ori was just being playfully, though. And, she hadn't stretched her shape shifter muscles in weeks.
