Ori

Nearly ancient, this shapeshifter travels the galaxy in search of something new to entertain her.

0 · 1,028 views · located in Main Street

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Arluar

Description

Ori no longer remembers what her original form was, or who her parents were, actually. The form she defaults to is that of a beautiful blond woman. Her golden hair is a collection of unruly strands, bangs cut and split over her forehead. Her eyes are a crisp light blue, untainted by tears. Her form is lithe and made for the white dress she wears.

Personality

Elegant would be the word to describe this feminine collage of memories and experiences. She has been alive for longer than she can remember and she has gathered a lot of wisdom. Acting as a bit of a genie, she likes to challenge people to change or improve, often times investing her own money in them. She doesn't typically tie herself into someone else emotionally, knowing the relationship won't last long enough for her liking. She has also has had her heart broken countless times. She has learned to stay guarded and disconnected from that world. Lovers have begun to bore her, anyway. She's seen a lot and not much excites her anymore.

Equipment

Ori carries a blade with her, a fencing sabre. It is modifed to have a pointed tip and is thing enough to slice dells off of someone's skin.

History

Ori would be considered civilized in several cultures, having mastered hundreds of languages. When she isn't paying attention, she'll slip back into Tyronae, a language reserved for nobles on several planets. She seems to have a limitless wealth, able to throw money at her every whim. She no longer remembers, but she was once a noble wed to Duke Rother on an obscure planet in the multiverse. Even though she shirked her responsibilities after he died, she still has access to their wealth. She still wears her silver engagement ring.

The necklace she wears was given to her by an elven lover, made of rare blue gems. The stones are blessed and essentially give out an aura of 'good luck.'

Every hundred years, Ori finds a place to have her memory erased. She sorts through her memories and pulls out key ones to keep. She wipes away memories of lovers and acquaintances, leaving behind gems of wisdom, key languages, and important basic information, like how to pilot her ship. She does this because her memory actually fills up to capacity over the hundred years. Another big reason that she purges her memories is that things tend to lose their splendor over her lifetime. Nothing is new any more, nothing excites her, and nothing captures her imagination. When she walks away from the procedure, wonder is restored.

In her latest life, Ori has given birth to two boys, twins, who have since, in the span of a year, grown into adult shape shifters who own and run a ship bay in Wing City. They grow more independent every day and Ori often longs for reunions with the few people that used to be important to her, such as Odgerel, a fiery woman who once graced Ori's life at the time her twins were born. Days have become increasingly lonely for her, so she takes on hobbies randomly to occupy her time.

So begins...

Ori walked in with a bright smile on her face. her hand was on her sabre at her side. When the door swung closed, it pushed her forward and she giggled, stumbling forward. "Ooh! Haha." Seeming to be barefoot, she walked to the bar and slipped up onto a seat. "What shall I have..." She asked the bartender if he had any suggestions...

Ori laughed loudly. "Sex on the beach? Wouldn't you get sand in your...and it would take a month for all that to get cleaned out." Chuckling she nodded. "I'll try anything once. Putting her hands in her lap, she spins on the chair and looks around. The shapeshifter eyes Winnie and Sophia before flashing them a bright smile and waving while waiting on her drink.

Ori walked over holding her drink in both hands and smiling brightly. She stopped in front of Sophia and bowed a bit. "May I join you two?" Hidden under her straw hair was a white bandage stuck over her temples. She seemed friendly enough, just wanting to form some new relationships.

Ori nodded to them both while setting her glass on the table and taking a seat. "You may address me as Ori." Thinking about what she had heard Sophia said, she perked up a bit. "I could make you think you're a tree?" she offered, leaning down to take a sip of her drink. She paused and made a face. "Why do they call it sex on the beach?!" Shrugging lightly, she takes another sip.

Ori was a bit sad that she couldn't help Sophia out and it showed in her expressive lips. When Winnie popped up about going home, Ori sat back and offered her yet another friendly smile. "Good bye!" the shapeshifter offered. Her attention soon went back to Sophia. "That will be a beautiful carving." Her clear blue eyes disappeared when she smiled as her eye lids arched. Bending back down to her drink, she locked her lips on the glass and tilted it back until the entire mug was empty. She tossed it back on the table. "Ahh..."

Ori got a devious grin on her face. "A friend?" She traced her finger over the rim of the empty glass. "I feel that there is more weight to that word - more than just it's typical definition." Her eyes studied Sophia for a moment, and, without realizing it, she pressed into Sophia's mind - Only to fail of course, and retreat without realizing she had even attempted anything.

Ori didn't know but still smirked a bit. "Because you wish for them to swim upstream after you?" She knew that was not the answer, but she figured Sophia was just waiting for a step to go into a story. So Ori played the interlude while Sophia would conduct the next theme. The shape-shifter tried to hide a hick-up before looking to Sophia again. "Why do you leave them each a fish?"

Ori looked down in her lap. She felt the irony of this conversation. Sophia was trapped as a machine, sealed into her form permanently. She had been cast into her lot and expected to be satisfied with it. Ori, on the other hand, had the galaxies before her. The possibilities were endless. She could be who she wanted to be, what she wanted to be...She even had the financial backing for all of her exploits. At times she wished she could give such a life away fro a night, let someone else enjoy the benefits of shape-shifting. The blond smiled and looked back to Sophia's eyes. "You will be...some day."

Ori pressed her lips together, staring at the other woman. She was silent in thought before she spoke again. "...I challenge you to be proud of who you are." Ori folded her hands neatly in her lap. "If you can prove to me that you are not ashamed, then I will give you a reward in any form of compensation you would wish for." It was hard to tell if she was serious or not. But she wasn't smailing - and she wasn't laughing - so that would lead to one conclusion. She did seem to be well off, like she could put out when it came to money.

Ori was prepared to offer a thoughtful response when she sneered. "Excuse me, one moment..." she said, stretching a bit. Suddenly, a purple tentacle shot out from where her hand had been, repelling towards Garnet's camera with astounding speed. Suction cups stuck to the lens before she jerked the device to the table she was seated at. Changing her hand back to that of a human, she smiles and raises her eyebrows, offering the device to the other woman. "Would you like to have the honor?"

Ori rolled her eyes a bit. "Relax. You're camera's fine. I'm just deleting the video." She moved with expert precision, pulling up the video gallery and deleting the latest scene from the disc. Holding the camera up, she offers it to Garnet. "You shouldn't record people without their permission, you know."

Ori laughed, sitting back and crossing her arms. "Why don't you take your toy outside?" The shape-shifter was pleased with herself as her bright blue eyes looked up to Garnet. Slowly she turned her gaze to Sophia again. "So when will you give this to your friend?" She put her elbows on the table and leaned forward, nuzzling her cheek against the back of her hand. "And what happens if it turns into a dragon...?"

Ori shot Garnet a sour look through the camera. Pushing her fingers against the bridge of her nose, she speaks to Sophia, "It was a pleasure to meet you and I wish you the best of luck." With that, she shapeshifted into something incorporeal, completely disappearing

Ori sneezed and her incorporeal form shape-shifted to the default woman. Sniffing, she reached for a tissue before dabbing her nose. Looking at her hands, she realized she had shifted. "Whoops...Well, excuse me I suppose." Shrugging a bit, she goes on over to a table and sits down, looking around the room. Truth was she hadn't been anywhere else, she was just floating around in her invisible/intangible form. With a sigh, she crosses her legs and neatly folds her hands in her lap.

Ori walked in with a happy smile on her face. Her eyes were bright and the only blemishes on her body were teh two bruised areas above her temples. Slipping in through the chairs, she goes over to the bar and takes up a seat next to Odgerel. Just ordering a water for now, she crosses her arms on the edge of the bar and offers the bartender a happy face. They probably didn't get too many of those. As she crosses her legs, she reveals a good portion of her thigh.

Ori looked completely dumbfounded for a moment, a look that didn't flatter her pretty features. "Spinner...?" Then she lit up, face turning on like a light bulb. "Oh! Of course! You're my mechanic." she said, reminding herself of one of the memories left behind of her smiling face. "I am glad you could repair it...but I'm afraid I won't be traveling for a while. I have chosen for myself to nest here for a while, it seems." Taking her water and sipping it, she licks her lips and leans over the bar, hair caping around her form. "Tell me, do you think anyone would be interested in purchasing the Spinner?" She had put a lot of time and money into that ship, but she didn't remember that.

Ori thinks it over while Odgerel turns away. She would prefer that it went to a collector. Not to mention, they could get it for a steal. The shape-shifter hadn't really noticed the floating skull, but if she had, she would have assumed she was just being recorded like yesterday. When Odgerel speaks, however, she turns to see who's there. "Are floating intrusions common on this planet?"

Ori had turned back to the bar before looking at the skull again and put her glass down. With both hands free, she rubbed at her pounding temples. "First three days are the worst..." she reminds herself, sighing as she takes another sip of water. Odgerel should notice that there is definitely something changed about Ori. She is not so stiff and proper as she had been. While she still retains that playfulness, she now also seems to contain a youthful wonder that shows in her more expressive features. Even as she rubs away a headache, there is a smile on her lips.

Ori suddenly appears on a bar stool, spinning to face Kat. Her blond hair flew around and settled on top of her chest as she stopped, Looking to the bartender with her bright blue orbs. "Hello there...I would like a drink, but I'm not really allowed to have alcohol right now - Is there a virgin drink you could make for me?"

Ori giggled a bit. "That sounds marvelous. I've never had one...not to my knowledge, anyway." she let out a joyous laugh before leaning forward on the bar. "I haven't seen you working before - but that's probably my fault. I've been here less than a week." She paused to rub her temples that looked bruised.
