Pavi Takot's Story

"Misrana? I feel..like I should know that name." she said, holding her head in her hands. What had happened to her? Why couldn't she remember? It almost hurt that she couldn't figure out who she was or what she was doing in this place she couldn't remember.
She wanted to know more but wasn't sure that the answers would mean anything to her if she couldn't connect them with something.

"I do not know," said Pavi. "Do you need assistance? Your ship is gone and you have nowhere to go for a few miles. Before we place you inside a city, we will need to run a scan on you. There is no way of knowing out of nowhere if you are some kind of terrorist." She could be a walking bomb, or a bioweapon, for all they knew.
"Assistance? Yes...yes..that would be nice." she said, trying shakily to get to her feet. Bioweapon was rather close to the truth as a point of fact. Even now the techno-organic symbiote colony within her was slowly beginning the process of regenerating. It would show up easily on deep medical scans, integrated with nearly all of her vital organs, even helping her recover from hibernation faster than a normal person would, especially in the situation she was currently in.
"Very well," said Pavi, pupils glowing with a feint light as a signal was sent out through the desert. A breeze rippled through the air, seemingly in response to the signal, but they had nothing to do with one another. The rumbling in the air, however, did.
Over a sand dune behind them rose a massive structure, which hummed and whirred and trilled as it stood on four wide, spindly appendages. It had two one central section of its body where the legs sprung from, and another, second section which acted as a tank, a holder, for some mysterious, swirling indigo energy. It glowed softly in its clear, glassy tank.
The vehicle, partially organic in its make with joints that moved and bent naturally and fluidly without the use of any kind of metals or gears, towered over them by a good ten feet. It bent those legs to lower its body closer to the ground for all three women into what seemed to be a small cabin that could hold up to four people and some supplies. The dashboard had a holographic interface that hovered just above, displaying numbers and strange words within the Misranan language, which was written with many swirls and lines cutting through multiple letters from one to the other.

"We are going to a city," said Pavi. Sai sat down in the front with the cyborg, but twisted her seat around to keep her eye on Jordyn. Pavi placed her hands gently above the holographic symbols, and the machine blared to life, rising up onto its many legs. "Try not to be thrown out of the cabin. It shouldn't be that hard."
Just as she spoke, the vehicle lurched, then began to skitter across the sand as though it were solid ground. It increased speed as it traveled, almost floating above the desert.

"What is this place?" she asked, it was the first thing that came to mind as she gripped the nearest thing that looked sturdy enough to keep her in, though she didn't seem to have too much trouble with balance. Scrolling over part of her vision was their current landspeed as well as elevation and a flashing line about not being able to establish a satellite linkup.
"Is anyone else seeing the satellite linkage warning?" she asked, looking fro Pavi to Sai and back again before blinking some and trying to get the words out of her vision.

Pavi looked towards Sai, who got the message and turned her seat around again to take the controls. It was Pavi's turn to twist her seat around, bringing her hands up to Jordyn's face. If she was allowed to go that far, her thumb would reach for the skin just below Jordyn's eye, to pull the lid down.
"Ah. You've got an HUD in your eyes. You're a bit like myself. Do not worry." She blinked. "A satellite..."

"It says 'Cannot establish satellite link'." she said, blinking a bit more when she got her face back to herself, one hand coming up to rub her eye, the tight fitting stasis suit creaking almost like leather or rubber when she moved her arm before she put it back in her lap.
"Does that mean something is wrong?" she asked, "Is it bad that it can't make a link?"

"I do not know," said Pavi, a frown painted on her face. "I do not know what exactly it is trying to link to. For now, we can take sanctity in the fact that it cannot, in the case that it is something that is not good. If you see this message change, you will alert me. Is that clear?"
"I will." Jordyn said with a nod, her tone of voice made it clear it was an order and Jordyn felt almost compelled to obey it, if only for self preservation.
As they rode on her stomach began to grumble and she wrapped her arms around her middle, feeling the hunger of not having eaten in who knew how long due to her hibernation. "Is there food?" she asked after trying to put up with it for some time.

"Excellent," said Pavi. In reply to Jordyn's chirp of food, Pavi nodded. "Once we get over the border and into the city there will be plenty of food. We'll get you checked first, however. Do you think you will be able to hold out that long?"
Jordyn nodded, closing her eyes and smiling a little after having them closed for a long enough time the display shut off. That was a nice change from the constant bombardment of input. She wasn't entirely sure what being 'checked' would entail, but she'd deal with that when they came to it.
They came to the city of Limni within a half hour. The city of Limni was not vast, but it was not very small, either. Buildings did not rise high, and the largest was only about five stories. Many of them were made with stone, and had glass tightly sealed over windows. Markets came in a generous abundance along multiple streets. Vendors had their tables set up and their commodities set out. Raw meats, spices, fruits, and other such ingredients mixed their scents and were splayed out for all to see. Vibrant cloths were displayed on another street, along with jewelry.

The Sandwalker that held Jordyn and Pavi swiftly rode toward the city, stopping at a large gate that circled the whole place. "Here we are," said the cyborg as the Sandwalker lowered its body to the ground to let them out. They would be stopped at the gates by several guards.

Jordyn dismounted last, halting abruptly when stopped by the guards. Her HUD started going crazy, scanning weapons, armor if they wore any, whatever gear was immediately visible on their person and generating threat assessments. The nearest one rated the highest and Jordyn's stance shifted subtly, subconsciously readying in case he tried anything.
She didn't know what to expect from these men and their weapon configurations were unknown to her, making the assessments inaccurate and giving her a feeling of unease.

The guards wore the bright reds of their uniform, with yellow cowls wrapped around their shoulders and steely helmets on their heads. In one hand they carried long golden spears dotted with red M-Vials. They looked ahead stoically.
"This woman is Jordyn. She crashed in the desert several miles from here and, allegedly, has no memory of why she is here and what she was doing beforehand."
The guards exchanged glances, and something seemed to be communicated between them. They nodded and began to lead them just inside the walls, to a small, narrow building made from the same smooth, sandy stone that made up the rest of the buildings in Limni. There, inside, was a plethora of complicated machinery, one that was just a metal box with a lot of flashy lights. They directed her toward that.
"This is a scanner, Jordyn. It's just going to take a few readings of your biological structure and cybernetic implants," said Pavi.

Jordyn hesitated before stepping forward onto the box. She stood there in silent nervousness, waiting. Her HUD had told her the guards were a minimal threat at a distance as long as one avoided the tips of their spears there was little trouble to be had from them.
It was an unspoken hope on her part that the scans were not too invasive.

The scanner clicked on once Jordyn stilled within it. The small room she was in would emanate a white glow, which would fill the space completely. She would feel almost weightless as the light searched her, sending off little waves to bounce off of her body and return it to the machine so that it could determine, or at least try to determine, what she was made of.
[Warning: Scan detected.] flashed before Jordyn's eyes as she lifted off the floor. "What? What's going on?" she asked, turning slightly and finding herself spinning a bit. Once the scans progressed beneath her skin it was clear she was human with some form of implant. However the implants registered as both technological and as a separate organism.
