Equipment

Offense

A blade that is a gift from Maleficus. This blade wards off the Divine. Those who make direct contact with it have all good stripped from their being for as long as they hold it, leaving them a heartless, evil person. The person has their evil attributes strengthened, can see Maleficus' aura and energies clearly, can see the undead, can see beings which only exist within Maleficus' realm and can persuade them to do their bidding.

If stabbed then the victim suffers. The pain of wounds created by it grows and grows, becoming unbearable. The person bleeds profusely, and eventually tendrils begin to worm their way out of the wound. If left untreated, Hellspawn drones(think black flood parasites) will continue to grow in number, eating away at the person until they are completely taken over and become a mutated, contorted, Hellspawn.

With the death of Maleficus, the blade no longer has this ability. Instead, it cause a wound in which the pain grows and never leaves, even after healing, and the wound is sure to become infected.

Scythe: On it's own, his lowest level of attack. Just your basic scythe, though he is highly skilled in using it to it's fullest capabilities.

Magic: One his most basic magical attacks, Rahal sticks to the four elements he is best with: Fire, Ice, Electricity and Stone.

Thus, he may use fireballs and lightning strikes. He is also prone to using ice needles and encompassing someone in stone.

Rahal is prone to combining his scythe (which he uses as a focus) and his magic. He has the ability to change the scythe blade from it's standard red blade to one rimmed in magic, which each magic a different color. This causes damage related to that element, along with the regular damage thanks to his scythe.

Fire
The scythe is rimmed with a red glow in this state. Fire spreads at the touch of the blade. Especially effective against organic beings.

Ice
The scythe is rimmed with a white glow in this state. Whatever the blade touches is frozen. It has the disadvantage of not remaining frozen long.

Electricity
The scythe is rimmed with a yellow glow in this state. The blade is electrically charged and can transfer that charge by touch, electrocuting whoever it touches. Especially effective against machines.

Flora
The scythe is rimmed in a green glow at this state. Anything the blade touches experiences a rapid growth of ivy and other resilient weeds.

Death
The scythe is rimmed in a black glow in this state. Anything the blade touches is aged twenty years with each cut.

He also has a second attack of a slightly higher level. This one utilizes his ability to rapidly change between the elements. Known as Omni-Slash, this attack consists of magically enhance, rapid slashes with his scythe, each incorporating a different element. The elements occur, without fail, in the following order: ice, fire, earth, grass, electric, wind, fire, stone.

Boiling Blood

This attack is a rather simple one, as far as Rahal is concerned. Learned from his adoptive father, it is exactly how it sounds. Rahal tends to use this briefly on those who annoy him, as it mostly causes pain, though if held on long enough, it can obviously cause death.

Transmorgify
Transforms whoever it is cast on into a frog or a beagle pup for two days, machines immune.

Lava Flow
A superheated burst of fire that can melt most metal, and can easily melt bones as well.

Incubus Charm
Convinces his enemies that he is their lover and that they would willing die for him, if he asked, or fight against their teammates. Can be broken by those of strong will power.

Tentacles
A rather odd attack, Rahal calls up a host of tentacles made of chaos magic to attempt to ensnare his foe. They are warm, and prolonged contact will cause burns.

Optical Illusion
Similar to patterns found online, this illusion is hypnotizing and difficult to look away from. Once the gaze is broken however, it can be hard to aim or focus, as the pattern of the illusion effects all you see for two turns,

Acid Cloud
A cloud made of acid contained in a simple mason jar. Rahal opens the lid and the cloud billows out traveling slowly, after the initial release, which extends twenty feet. This is highly corrosive to organic matter. It is a misty green.

Poison Cloud

Similar to the acid cloud, but poisonous, this induces nausea and fainting, and causes diarrhea as well. Colorless and odorless, it may take a few turns to take effects.

Devastation

This attack can take anywhere between 3-7 or more turns to prepare. If interrupted, it will go off immediately, though it requires being able to cut through the magic to be able to do so. Each turn that is taken to charge extend the radius of the attack by .72 miles, making the seven turn attack having a radius of five miles and a diameter of ten.

Rahal has only used this attack twice before. Once in training, to proof he could. He released this one after seven turns of prep, as he could feel his iron control on it slipping. The second was interrupted at the third turn of prep, and he discovered that, if he hasn't pushed himself too fair, he is able to pour one final burst of energy into the attack, thought the energy will come almost entirely from than his reserves. It creates the equivalent of a magical H-bomb going off, leaving a shallow (1m) crater in all directions and what appears to be a mushroom cloud of exploded magic.

After this attack, Rahal, though he may or may not remain conscious for a few moments, Rahal is unable to move, remains collapsed on the ground where he stands. In fact, he and a column straight above him are the only non-effected areas of the spell.

This attack literally consumes the magic in the effected area, leaving it barren of ambient magic for six turns. Thus ambient magic users can not cast, while internal magic users can, though they may find it is harder to do so, and their spells may not last as long.

Defense

Rahal can create a shield that can take up to 500 lbs physical force before breaking. He can also create a shield that can handle all but the highest of magical attacks, and a variety of shields that can prevent contaminates from reaching him such as poisonous gasses and such. Unfortunately, he seriously struggles when it comes to combining his shields.

Twin Fire Swords
When knocked unconscious, or unable to defend himself, Rahal is equipped with twin curved blades made of fire that automatically engage to protect him. They move without his consent and have in them the sword wielding ability of a master swordsman.

Animated Scythe
When knocked unconscious, or unable to defend himself, Rahal's Scythe changes from a normal Scythe, to one that automatically defends him.

Teleportation
Recently learned, when Rahal wraps his magic around himself, he the ability to travel along 'roads' of magic and teleport himself to another location almost instantly.

Fortifications

Rahal's robes can deflect most blade damage and projectile damage.

He tends to increase his speed, endurance, and strength while battles.

History

There is an old house set back from the road. A tall wrought iron fence and intimidating gate block the drive. To set foot on the lawn is to invite your own death by trap, and to ring the doorbell is to ask to be slaughtered. There used to be a truly evil family there, whom the gods themselves had cursed. A husband and wives who struck fear into all who saw them, and seven children, ranging in age from seven all the way up the twenty. These children were raised to hate and destroy, to only cause pain and to kill all who crossed their path.

When the youngest child, a boy, turned five he snuck out of the grounds and met another boy about his age. All too happy, the two got to talking and the youngest boy realized how sick and twisted his family was. The years passed and as the boy turned seven he realized that his family was evil and must be destroyed.

So the boy lived up to the ways his parents raised him in. In the middle of the night, silently and using all his stealth, the boy killed first his parents, then all but two of his siblings. His eldest brother, who had honor if blood thirst, he left alive. And his youngest sister, all of nine, he left in their brothers care. The elder brother spirited her in the night so she wouldn't awake to such a a sight, and the young boy, hands bloody, left the house for the streets.

On the streets the young murderer met a fellow murderer. A vampire by the name of Taro. Truly sadistic, the vampire mage took one look at the boy and grinned, taking him in. After hearing his story, he decided not to eat the runt. Instead he took him, introduced him to the family and begin to teach him magic.

When asked what they should call him, the boy looked around at them, and, wanting to leave his past behind, told them his name was Tyrannius. But they could call him Ty. So the youngest boy of the evil family was no longer a hooded figure learning to kill. He became a happy mage's apprentice, bouncing back from the horrors of his early life with all the resilience of a child.

Easily, the boy mastered most of the elements, though he struggled with creating grass. That would come when he was thirteen and exploring the Multiverse. A kind wave master taught him how and gave him a warning. Down that path lied forbidden, life creating magic.

And so, Death continued his training, slowly gaining finer and finer control. Shortly after an unfortunate mishap with an aging spell, Ty was pulled out of the normal time stream by his mentor's father. The God taught him many things, including the creation of life, and a fine control that would astonish everyone. He intended the boy join his pantheon as a God of magic one day.

Unfortunately, this was not to be. When Ty returned to Earth to take his Masters test, he passed with high flying colors. This was not to be celebrated, as the mage's council, distressed, put severe limiters on the now 23 year old's magic, limiting him to basic healing and element crafting. He would be unable to air walk, to transform an object from one thing to another, or a great many things. He wouldn't even be able to call the elements to him anymore.

Horrified by the shackles put on him to suppress his magic to such an extent, the mage vowed to one day remove them, and destroy them all. To that end, the once playful boy became a very angry and bitter man. One day, one day. He would have his revenge.

Rahal's Magic System

First Order: Element calling and shaping.
Second Order: Healing
Third Order: Weapon creation
Fourth Order: Illusions
Fifth Order: Psionics
Sixth Order: Blood magic
Seventh Order: Conjuring/Summoning
Eighth Order: Death magics (Necromancy, etc)
Ninth Order: Life

Ty had progressed all the way to the ninth Order of Magic, only to have to ripped away from him. Cast down all the way to the Second Order when he passed his Masters.

Thanks to sheer will on one manacle, and an attack that cause him to expend the majority of his magic to free himself from the manacle so he could defend himself, Ty is now free of those evil things.

However, he is not free yet. He was approached while relaxing with the love of his life by a mysterious woman and entrusted with an artifact of great power, the Orb of Restoration. This powerful healing artifact was sought by a groupd of people known as the Orsa Terminus, and he joined in with the woman as a Patrons Guardian, keepign the Orb safe.

As he and his nemesis, Maleficus opposed each other, Ty continued on in the path life had set for him, loving a Priestess, however forbidden it may be, and protecting his 'marble' with occasional ease.

Then he was captured.

Captured by a great machine known at Krycis, cementing his dislike of machines everywhere. Now, his survival instincts kicked in on full gear and he agreed to spy on the Patronus for Krycis.

Released, and now a double spy, Ty began to seriously struggle. His mentor, the man he hero-worshipped for rescuing him, disapproved of his forbidden relationship with the priestess, pointing out that he was born of evil, raised of evil, taught in evil, and even used Chaos magic. Eventually he wouldn't even be able to stand her touch! So he should end it now.

Along with this came the loss of his hand, a price paid to keep his life and his cover. The hand was now made entirely of Chaos magic, and had to remain covered ina glove made from human skin. The corruption his magic was causing began to set in rapidly, no doubt accelerated by Maleficus tag on him.

He broke away from the group of Patronus he fought with for their safety and alone now, begin to struggle in earnest, until he declared he could no longer handle protecting the orb. Unable to seek an audience with the woman who recruited him, the mage sought a new Guardian on his own, and chose the former Guardian Whisper.

It would prove to be a poor choice indeed, as the very next day, Whisper killed Dallas. She had been subverted some time ago. Unbeknownst to the Patronus.

Ty lost it! How dare she! How dare she every even hurt Dallas! Already teetering on the edge, Ty fell entirely and began Rahal.

It was Rahal who, as his first act, attacked Whisper with the intent to kill, unleashing his ultimate attack on her to kill her. And it was Rahal who, 'rescued' from those who sought to capture him when he was weak byt Maleficus, allowed the demon to do what he would with him.

Now, he was transformed, through intense pain and the demon diety's spells, into Rahal in truth. More powerful, and less driven by emotions, he listens only to Maleficus, and even then, he listens none-too-well.

But this state did not last long. No, unbeknown to him, the mage's lady love was alive once more, having not truly been dead. she discovered what has happened and managed to capture him in a moment of weakness. As he lay unconscious she and Taima, her guard, begin a ritual to purify his mind.

It succeeded, and though he is still hard hearted at times, he can now once more handle the touch of holy items. The corruption from both his own magic and Maleficus' was gone.

Time has passed. Rahal has a familiar now, and a student. He has an off and on lover, and lived free from the missing Maleficus for some time. But then, Maleficus returned in a new form, and forced his servant through yet another baptism of fire.

So begins...

"So I noticed." Catherine said growing increasingly unamused by the moment. It was raining glitter and she suspected that by the time this was over she'd be encrusted in glitter. "Okay.. so we'll call you Ty then." She added cautiously as she watched the unusual darkness creeping in. Sighing she downed the rest of her drink, thinking that if she had to deal with this then a large amount of alcohol would be the only way. "I'm sure you can find another court to take you.. if you so desire." Catherine mentioned off hand as she debated on another drink.

"Look Ty, let me apologize. You're starting to make this become offensive." She pointed out, doubting that the other would let her continue. By now it was a clash of cultures, between his Dragon Court and her Seelie Court. "I'm sorry for what happened to your parents, I'm sorry that you can't go home, and I'm sorry that I caused it. If it's any comfort my hand was forced."

Rahal frowned, not understanding how it could be her fault at all. Still, she seemed insistent on apologizing, and he frowned, and cast an intentional spell for once tonight, forcing him to sober up. "Catherine..." It wasn't her fault. With a heay sigh, he offered a smile. "I'm sorry my parents hurt you." He settled on saying. "I feel like I owe you a boon for their behavior, but I know better than to offer it." She had been raised in the fae court after all.

The mage glanced around and winced, and cast a spell that reversed the darkness and got rid of the glitter in one fell swoop. They all looked a bit too staticy right now because of it, but needs must. "I accept your apologies for whatever part you may have played, but understand that your hand, the hand of everyone was forced." By his parents actions.

"Good, but remember you owe me nothing, mage." Catherine said shaking her head. "And your right to not offer a boon." She added knowing full well the repercussions that could come from that. At least Rahal was smart enough to realize that she played by the rules of the fae, and not the humans; even though she did at times try to reach a compromise.

"That's a check I think neither of us ever wants to try to cash."

"Psh. I'd die before you cashed it." He pointed out and began to undo much of the magic he had done. The bartender kept his arms crossed, eyes on Rahal the entire time. Rahal had a feeling the minute his tab was paid he'd be kicked out. "I'm an old man. Immortality isn't going to happen, not to me." Maybe he'd take on one last student, one last apprentice before he died. Ra knew Torin had made nothing of himself, to the mage's eternal disappointment.

"But just in case, I agree on that. Neither of us ever want to cash it, issue it, or have anything to do with it." It was a pain in the ass working by fae rules, he decided, but well, it came with being Catherine's friend.

"Oh I don't know, you've lived this long." Catherine said with a slight shrug. Her own immortality just wasn't something she really thought much about, but then again so was someone else's mortality. Frowning again at this thought, she wasn't sure how she felt about it as a whole. "But then again I guess I can see your point." She said thoughtfully. The rules of the fae were what they were, and Catherine rarely gave them a second thought as she'd been living by them her entire life.

"However, yes. I don't think I could cash in on anything you ever demanded, or find myself asking the same of you. So perhaps we're on the same page." Catherine remarked. "Immortality isn't everything either, in case you wondered. 1500 years and I still find myself in over my head."

Rahal smiled. "True. Immortals and the long lived also move at a very different pace." He said and finished setting the bar to right. At least Catherine was kind enough to sit with him while he was drunk. He knew he got a bit difficult to deal with, but it wasn't entirely his fault. Chaos magic was a bit, well. It was difficult to control at the best of times.

The bartender came over and looked the two over and Rahal sighed, knowing what came name and getting out his card to pay. "I'm going to need the two of you to pay your tabs then leave. And don't come back. Ever."

"Sorry Catherine."

Catherine just gave the bar tender a sour look, before pulling out a few bills to pay her own tab with. "Fine by me." She remarked plainly as she paid. Catherine would have made a snide remark, but thought better of it. "It's okay, it's not that great a place anyway." She then said to Rahal. At least this time she hadn't been the victim of his magic, and in fact had managed to escape quite unscathed.

"Eventually you're going to run out of places to drink.. so maybe you should opt to do so out of public?"

Rahal sighed, nodded, and stood up. "It's more fun drinking in public, but you may be right." She said and then looked Catherine over. "Though you look surprisingly glitter free for once." He pointed out, more amused then not. Usually Catherine ended up just as much a victim as everyone else was. He stretched and considered what he could do next.

"I should drop by the mage college, let them know I'm looking for an apprentice." He said and stretched, sighing. "...soon enough." He could put that off indefinitely and he well knew it. The made gladly would too. He hated dealing with the mage college.

"We all have our ways of avoiding your brand of chaos, some of us have more than others." Catherine replied crossing her arms. There was no way she was letting him in on the fact that she'd figured out a way to repel the mage's glitter bombardments. "While it may be fun drinking in public.. I don't think they're going to forgive you for the attack ostrich." She pointed out, eyeing the pile of glitter where it had been with great suspicion.

"An apprentice? I thought you were done training other mages or really teaching in general." Catherine remarked hearing that the other was considering taking on another student.

"I thought I was too." He smiled to her. "But it'd be good for me, I think, to have forced contact with someone that much younger." And not so much older like Catherine was. "And I enjoy teaching, even if most eligible are...well, I'll probably be much pickier about who I teach. It's one thing to teach control. It's another to find a student who will listen when you tell them why."

Quite another indeed. The woman knew it was trouble too. Brandon had been a difficult kid, and learned that the hard way a few too many times, he suspected. Torin was more interested in fighting that magic. And everyone else he had only been a supplemental teacher for.

He meandered towards the door. "Besides. Someone should carry on the school of magic I know. It's not a useless thing, after all."

"So no undead rats in the middle of the night then?" Catherine asked raising an eyebrow. Waking up to that had elicited quite a few screams from her, and a subsequently hasty cleansing fire spell to rid her bedroom of them. Most days she was surprised she even made it to work, much less through her shift with so little sleep. That was the point at which she had started researching specific wards and what might work best to keep things at bay. If anything, Catherine valued her sleep highly.

"Magic? Useless.. I think that depends on who you ask. It's useless at best and dangerous at worst for most." She said with a shrug. It was also extremely exhausting to try and maintain control, instead of just letting it do as it pleased.

Niira glanced back up to the screen now that she was all alone. A commercial for forn pops was ending, and the news was about to begin. She groaned under her breath, tossed her hair again, and ordered another drink.

The television was showing the news-it was the only time of year people bothered with the news. Whenever The Hunt was on everyone paid attention. It was perfect timing for the greatest of Gargantua to make it's televised debut, and so they did.

A shaky video came onto screen. It was hard to tell what it was at first, the camera was moving too much and too fast and too close. Anyone familiar with Aberash recognized the black shell for what it was. Despite it's best attempts the flying camera never got a good wide angle shot. It was a shame, for everyone who was anyone was watching the news. Anyone, who was everyone, wondered how big it really could be?

The camera movement jerked to a stop; oops!
It tumbled through the sky towards the Earth at a nauseating speed. On it's way down glimpses were caught of the Gargantua. It was half the size of the city, at least, which was enough to make many citizen's stomaches drop.

The camera landed to the ground and rolled. It came to a stop with a rock formation in focus. In the background a black blob moved and sat mostly out of shot. It was too big.

There was a flash of red light and suddenly... it was gone?
After a few moments, the news cut back to a confused newscaster, and then rolled commercial.

Bien slammed shut a book as the newscast finished. She pushed her glasses back up her nose, packed her things, and payed her tab. She scribbled furiously in a notebook, then slammed that shut too. Quietly Bien slipped out of The Hangover. She had work to do.
