Scarlet Dae's Story
Nodding, Scarlet returned the smile. "That it is, that it is." she replied, nodding. "Life's like a good wine, best taken with companions. I forget who said that."
The red clad mage adjusted her cloak, before tilting her head slightly. "Might I ask your name, stranger? I'm Scarlet; Scarlet Dae."

Scarlet Dae tilted her head forwards. "Is that a no? I shan't be offended if you choose to keep your name to yourself, names have power these days."
Scarlet nodded, "A pleasure to meet you, Chronoclis." she said, inclining her head politely. "Well, might I ask what brings you here?" she queried, "I myself am seeking a break from the neverending task of the teacher. I cannot walk down the corridor back at my Academy for the onslaught of questions, people who need my attention. I would have no time to myself if I did not remove myself from its halls once in a while!"
The mage chuckled. "But 'tis an enjoyable life nonetheless, were it not so constant it would be ideal; I love imparting knowledge, and allowing others to do so - but one needs a little time to oneself, yes?"

Scarlet smiled, nodding - she enjoyed speaking of her Academy. "Indeed, you may. I am the Headmistress of the Academia Celestia, the twin academy to the Academia Everia. Both academies are located to the East of the city, near the large lake -- not Wing City Lake, but another one. Celestia is largely based around 'divine' magic, which while not linked to the gods, has similar effect to that which is. We also teach other lores, of course, which are more general."
The mage leant back, smiling fondly still. "It's a magnificent place, if I do say so myself - recently somewhat ruined, but with the number of mages on my staff, it wasn't long before it was restored fully."

Scarlet Dae waved a hand vaguely. "A demonic horde, led by a lust demoness. I'd rather not talk about it..." Scarlet trailed off, frowning. Her defeat at that succubi had led to the capture and possible death of one of her favourite ex-students, and friends; as well as the death of dozens of her staff... it was a bad memory.
"Aye, that it does." Scarlet replied, leaning backwards. "Well, enough about me - tell me about yourself, Chronoclis!"
Scarlet Dae nodded, adjusting her position with an odd scraping sound as her arm moved over the wood of the counter. "Knowledge is best amassed by experience, some things cannot be taught. But we have field trips for that!" she joked, smirking.
Scarlet raised an eyebrow. "Well, that, and other such places." she said, smirking. It was questionable whether she was joking or not.
Scarlet Dae smiled "I'd love to have you. Visitors are always welcome." she said, nodding her head. "And I do think they serve food here..." the mage continued, glancing around over the bar counter.
Scarlet Dae smiled faintly, "I'm alright, myself - I've already eaten." she said politely. Truthfully, she was wary about going anywhere with those she did not know, now that she was carrying the Bracers. She knew how tricksy her enemies could be...
Scarlet Dae instantly became alert as the room's temperature altered, the heat rising and becoming oddly pleasant. That wasn't good. She knew what that meant. The melodious laugh that followed instantly drew Scarlet's attention to its source, her eyes locking onto Nyx and narrowing instantly. Her. It was her.
The mage simply glared at Nyx for a few moments, lifting her drink to her lips and sipping from it, before letting out a deep breath. She said nothing, and did nothing. There was a set plan in place for taking the demoness down, and attacking now would only jeopardise that. Even should she be victorious now, with the added power of the Bracers - there was no telling they'd ever be able to find Elante.

"An old enemy. It is no matter." the mage replied, frowning. "I am not about to confront her in the middle of a crowded bar."
Scarlet Dae simply offered Nyx a cheery smile. "It is indeed, he has some sort of infection, I believe. He'll be fine though, you needn't worry yourself, love." she replied, folding her arms. "And forgive me for not offering you a more appropriate welcome, but I thought that it was more fitting that such a greeting be reserved for when we don't have so much company. I'm not sure that everyone else wants to be subjected to such, hm?"

Scarlet laughed, apparently raucously amused. "Nemesis? Nay, I would not call her quite a nemesis. That attaches to great an importance, I have no real personal hatred towards her, oddly enough. I consider nemesis far more of an emotional term, something to be applied to one who has wronged you personally; rather than in the process of another action - while the succubus her has surely done her best, her actions were not a personal attack on me, and so I do not consider her a nemesis. But that's all semantics, you understand; there is plenty of bad feeling, of course."
Scarlet Dae lifted an eyebrow, "Oh, I honestly couldn't abandon my friend here." Scarlet gestured to Chronoclis, "I'm sure it isn't urgent, can it not wait? Do you so desire my company that you would sacrifice such an asset for only a... conversation?"
Scarlet's brow had twitched at Nyx's mention of her students, but overall she remained in control of herself.

Shaking her head, Scarlet smiled to Chronoclis. "There is no need, my good fellow. I am sure that the demoness can cope without my presence for now. Though of course, I fear that the word conversation is perhaps being employed as some gross euphemism for 'mugging me and taking my jewellery' in this instance." she said, gesturing at the Bracers.
Goodness, there was apparently no way that this was going to end well, was there? Alas. Scarlet had anticipated such, really. The mage seized her magic, allowing it to flow through her body, and prepare a spell. There was no outward sign of this, except perhaps for a brief glint in the woman's eye.
"Bluntness, I find, saves time. And I'm sure that your intentions aren't benevolent, now are they? You don't intend to give me a nice little present. Or do you? That would be a nice change."

Scarlet Dae folded her arms, leaning backwards onto the counter and tilting her head to one side. "I suppose not." she said simply. This sounded promising... the one stage of the plan that had not yet been addressed was arranging the meeting itself.
"I am listening, O' demoness." the mage said, taking a sip of her brandy.

Scarlet Dae tilted her head. "You know that I cannot do that, love. There is the possibility of a trade, as much as it galls me to accept it. But I cannot do it myself, I must consult with the others concerned." she said.
The mage frowned. "We can make arrangements, however. Should I come to the meeting, I will come alone. I must at least approach my fellows before accepting your proposition, but if they deny me... it is my personal belief that a life is more important than any item. I will approach them, but even should they disagree..."
