Bard Spells
Detect Evil
You can sense the presence of evil. The amount of information revealed
depends on how long you study a particular area or subject.

1st Round: Presence or absence of evil.

2nd Round: Number of evil auras (creatures, objects, or spells) in the area
and the power of the most potent evil aura present.

3rd Round: The power and location of each aura. If an aura is outside
your line of sight, then you discern its direction but not its exact location.

Mending
This spell repairs damaged objects, restoring 1d4 hit points to the object.
If the object has the broken condition, this condition is removed if the object
is restored to at least half its original hit points. All of the pieces of an object
must be present for this spell to function. Magic items can be repaired by this
spell, but you must have a caster level equal to or higher than that of the object.

Message
You can whisper messages and receive whispered replies. Those nearby can
hear these messages with a DC 25 Perception check. You point your finger
at each creature you want to receive the message. When you whisper, the
whispered message is audible to all targeted creatures within range.

Remove Curse
Remove curse can remove all curses on an object or a creature. Remove curse
does not remove the curse from a cursed shield, weapon, or suit of armor,
although a successful caster level check enables the creature afflicted
with any such cursed item to remove and get rid of it.

Open/Close
You can open or close (your choice) a door, chest, box,
window, bag, pouch, bottle, barrel, or other container

Read Magic
You can decipher magical inscriptions on objects—books, scrolls, weapons, and
the like—that would otherwise be unintelligible. This deciphering does not normally
invoke the magic contained in the writing, although it may do so in the case of a
cursed or trapped scroll. Furthermore, once the spell is cast and you have read
the magical inscription, you are thereafter able to read that particular writing
without recourse to the use of read magic. You can read at the rate of
one page (250 words) per minute.

Summon Instrument
This spell summons one handheld musical instrument of your choice.

Animate Rope
You can animate a nonliving rope-like object.

Comprehend Languages -- 1

Magic Mouth
This spell imbues the chosen object or creature with an enchanted mouth
that suddenly appears and speaks its message the next time a specified event
occurs. The message, which must be 25 or fewer words long, can be in any
language known by you and can be delivered over a period of 10 minutes.
The mouth cannot utter verbal components, use command words, or activate
magical effects. It does, however, move according to the words articulated;
if it were placed upon a statue, the mouth of the statue would move and
appear to speak. Magic mouth can also be placed upon a tree, rock,
or any other object or creature.

Sibael Rhodwyn's Story

The city night would be a pleasant fog of darkness, if it weren't for all the strangely luminous words that blinked from every direction. She drew her hood immediately following her first encounter with a human, near the outermore edge of the city. His sideways look at her mount had her uneasy, her trusty shepard in tow growling at the man in passing. It only took dodging one car to realize what this city was all about: Sin.

As her travels brought her nearer to what must have been the city center, her lasting impression of the city flickered and dimmed. Harlots on almost every corner, drunkards wobbling from one pissing house to the next. The leers from a group of socially rejected adolescents, cigarettes glistening with spittle hanging from their lips or fingertips, ushered her into an alleyway. Good thing they didn't catch glimpse of her ears.

This place was disgusting, the humans here barbaric, the culture obscene. It was the perfect inspiration.

Keeping the hood of her cloak low and her gaze lower, she dismounted her gargantuan dog in the skimpy shadows of the alley. Up ahead, more red lights flicked, a vulgar body sauntered past on heels that could double as melee weapons. She gripped the chains of her dogs tight, clicking once with her tongue. The trio cautiously exited the mouth of the alley, canines freezing as the scent of blood wafted through their wet noses. She took notice, jerking slightly on the chain to keep them close.

More trouble, everywhere. This place was nothing but, weaved from filth itself. It was too late to help the bleeder, the way her pup's fur fell told her that. At this point it was best to move along, continue searching for food and shelter.

With long strides, she led her two dogs down the street. It was all the elf could do to keep them from darting down an alley way and onto a perpetrator. Up ahead, a small scene caught her eye. Another click had the dogs alert, waiting at the edge of their chains for release. Three little notes, all it would take...

But the woman had been able to help herself, man stumbling away to join other nasties like himself. Narrowing her eyes, her mind caught on fire. Could this be another hero? Another stalker of the night, avenger of justice? Someone with stories, tales of chaos and of victory? Thoughts blazing, she started after the woman who was now making her way down the street, ignoring the scum that caked to the inner walls of the alleys. As she grew closer, the scent of tobacco grew heavier, until finally the three were close enough to pounce.

"Evening," Calling out to the other woman, she brushed the hood from her head. Points of pale flesh stood prominent through her dark fall of hair, eyes brightly reflecting the magic lights of the city. Dumbly she stood, dogs panting with anticipation, waiting for her to take notice.

"Strange?" She shot a quick glance around, taking in more obscenity. Did this woman mean to tell her that this whole city isn't as dank? That is wasn't entirely plagued with prostitutes and the like?

"One could wonder the wisdom held in responding to potential threats," She said shaking the chain of her dogs, "Much as one could wonder how you managed to off the scab back there without so much as a punch." A smile pulled at the corner of her mouth, the dogs slack jawed and grinning.

"A truth," She looked off towards the scab, smile turning into a grimace. Yes, intimidation did get far. Her dogs had taught her that. Looking away from the man, the elf returned her attention to the woman she had stopped. She seemed like a lady with a story, maybe even more than a lady. Resting a hand behind the ears of her mount, she scratched absentmindedly. Now, to extract the tale...

"So how many hands is your blade? How many blades has your hand stopped?" Playing with the words, the elf pried into the business of the woman. "I'm Sibael," and I think I may have found a new muse. She extended her free hand, looking to shake forearms.

"Friends?" With a small laugh, she dropped her extended hand and let it fall to the other dog. Simultaneously scratching at the pooches, Sibael leaned against the larger. He remained standing, supporting her weight, wet nose poking up at her neck. The only friends she needed at this time of night were right by her side.

"Nay, just a story," Her response was earnest, "Some shelter, a bit of hot munch if I can come across it." Ellie seemed stiff, if anything. Sibael bet she'd lobbed off her fair share of limbs in her time. "Got any tales? Heroic battles, the clashing of swords...Any Kings unthroned or villains brought begging to their feet, only to meet the cold bite of your sword?" As she spoke her eyes jumped to life, voice gaining passion with each word. A grin stretched across her face, "Stories, see?"

Her eyes remained glued to Ellie, what was this woman up to? Waiting for a mission maybe? The situation peaked her curiosity in the worst way. A secret document? A midnight duel?

She watched the ember fall. "Writer, singer, musician," Sibael flourished, dog chains jingling, "Actress every now and again. Traveler, mostly," she jerked her chin towards her trusty canines, "For that's what comes between." Dropping the smile, she looked the woman stone cold in the eyes.

"What about you? Secret keeper, you seem important. Seem to know what it means to," Sibael looked from her dogs to the woman's hip, "Need protection, or something of the likes?" The elf was determined to get her story, that or be chased to the hills for nosiness. Both were outcomes she was fully prepared for.

Eaugh. Humans never ceased to disgust her. Look at them, falling all over themselves. Losing their stomachs from the lack of self control. If this were any other time, the elf would be tempted to waltz over there and stand over them. To scream of their insolence, berate them until they were reduced to whimpereing pulps. But this was not the time.

So she was a writer. What was a writer doing here? Of all places? Part of Sibael knew she shouldn't pry further, the rest of her simply didn't care.

"Of sorts?" She pried crossing her arms, eyeballing the filth in the alley. "Is this your inspiration walk?" Almost incredulously Sibael asked the question, wondering for a moment if this could actually be the truth. That this woman wasn't a hero, wasn't any divine justice seeker, that she was just a writer who found her muse in the pathetic decay of society.

"Ah," The scholarly type. The complete other end of the spectrum of the craft. Sibael shrugged, letting out the rest of the air now that she had nothing to say with it.

"And your area of expertise is...?" She gestured at everything around them, the hookers, the drunkards, the ones that were on something that wasn't post-sex euphoria or alcohol.

Then, the man in the not-quite-a-robe appeared. Who was this fellow, and-Suddenly something clicked. A devilish smile crept onto Sibael's lips, she uncrossed her arms and took a step back between her dogs. A secret meeting, eh? Pretending to distance herself from their exchange, Sibael drew some hard meat from her belt pouch and fed it to the dogs.

Juicy juicy.

Her ears followed the two as her eyes would have done, had she been looking at them. The context of the conversation was lost, but it was enough to make something with. Hell, with that many loose ends she could weave a whole tapestry!

Already the ink was flowing in Sibael's mind, a new song or poem or story working it's way. A conversation wanted with one who won't be found, sought by an ex coworker-no! Ex accomplice. The whole operation is hush, for there is more at stake than just secrecy, and both sides know it...Perfect! Best seller quality, the tale of the century!

"Hem," Sibael cleared her throat, barely, and gave the pair a little wave. There was a twinkle in the elf's eye, but she didn't say anything to elude at what was going on behind it.
"Well, good luck on your writings, Ellie," She said, adjusting the bags on her mount and preparing to take her leave. Off to find a table, write this one down before it escapes out the ears...

Ohoho. This was amazing. Terrorists? Slowly mounting the large dog, Sibael wondered what exactly all the work Ellie did could be. Killing terrorists, but what else? She went through the motions of securing the small dog's leash to the larger dog's harness, of finding her balance on the back of her ride, all while listening intently.

This woman was a hero, her inner instincts were right. The moment to grab her story in full had slipped, but Sibael was sure she had gathered enough information in passing to write about it.

A curt nod and a sly smile was her response to Ellie's good faring. The elf flipped the hood back into place, "The same to you, good luck on..." she motioned to the guy, causing the dogs to stir a bit in their idle, "...Your mission." Wondering what exactly these horrid pictures were of, Sibael pulled the chain and led her party away from Ellie and the strange man. As they padded down the sidewalk, the elf was lost in thought, constructing in her mind a tale that she hoped would be a hard hitter. Now to think up a catchy title...

The short chain did nothing to mask the ferocity behind the dogs that bulged in before the woman. Was she a woman? Smaller than most was she, a lithe thing swathed in autumn, as the beasts all but dragged her around the bar. They followed their noses, under the feet of unsuspecting patrons, the legs of chairs now awry, until stopping at a booth. Without another sniff, the two clamored into either cushioned cubby, cramming their bodies every which way just to fit.

'Aww' indeed She thought with a smile, unclasping the leashes from their collars. Silently, the woman folded them away into a satchel previously hidden in her folds. Her eyes then turned to her dogs. Hands on her hips, there at the end of the table she stood glaring down her dogs. Such ridiculous creatures they were, climbing about the seats like animals. Still smirking, she slipped off her shoes and folded herself nimbly atop the table, facing Gambit's. Just as she had suspected, there were eyes upon them. Was that a falcon? With fascination, the elf watched the falcon retrieve a sandwich.

The dogs, now free of their owner's gaze, glanced around wildly. So many smells, and barely any of them human. They may have even smelled... Dog... One barely whimpered, wanting more than anything to smell some more things... more.

The two dogs perked at the entrance of another beast, audibly whimpering and wanting to get a closer sniff.

The elven woman failed to silence them with a wave of her hand, but didn't care, for she was preoccupied with the sorcery in the table. What the devilry was this, and how did it work? Images of vaguely familiar things, glasses filled with colored alchemy of sorts...
It was simply a touch screen menu built into the table surface, but the elf was none the wiser. Hesitantly, she tapped at a clear solution labeled with runes vaguely similar to hers for "water", jumping as the screen changed. The dogs whimpered on, pawing at the padded seating.

She wasn't certain what she ordered, but sat back with a satisfied arm fold. Glasses of water had covered the screen, then a giant green check mark had appeared. Just as the elf was calming her dogs, eying around for the source of their fit, she heard the lady waiting for her drink.
After a flutter of her lids, and another slick glance around the bar, she called back, "This crowd seems keen on their beasts." Giving a nod to the three hundred pound wolf, and another to the falcon, she reached into another unknown pouch for a piece of hard meat. The dogs, temporarily at peace, went to work gnawing away.

A sly grin flashed itself across the elf's face, and she whispered in return, "Agreed." The smile went as soon as it came, replaced by the globe-sized eyes of wonder. What was that? That machine? The one that brought the drink? A hand flew to her back satchel, from which she drew a harried piece of parchment and (with a flourish) a pen. The pen was given extra care with it's click, for such an object was new-fangled and all but magic to the Elf. She had found it on the ground somewhere on Main Street.

Her attention now captive of the metallic drink-bringing creature, she didn't notice the smaller dog begin inching it's way toward the edge of the seat. One paw at a time, the dog scooted forward, and forward, and forward, looking directly at the monstrosity of a wolf over there. The larger dog simply watched the smaller, possibly knowing better but more likely waiting for more hard meat.

Sibael Rhodwyn looked around, finally staring one of the strangers in the face, "I don't remember you. Any of you, to be frank."
