Bio:

As a child, Sich had been raised with a father who served as a cop for the Supremacy. She admired him to no end, and always spoke about becoming a cop. Just like him.

Growing up, she witnessed the Supremacy's diminishing power. Watching the television about the attacks, she thought, "I'm going to catch those guys." It's what she expected her father to do.

No one expected Sich's father to have done what he did. Sich, least of all.

She never speaks about it, but anyone who came to know her knew that whatever happened created her drive to become an officer in the Rebellion's name, protecting some of the group's most righteous leaders. She aspires to one day clean up Zanzaria once the war is over and peace to Misrana is restored.

Sich came out top of her class in training. She is an ATW driving instructor, has extensive knowledge of weapons, and is an excellent combatant. Despite all her skill and knowledge, not one person who has ever met her will say that she comes off as an expert in anything, and comes off even less as a person in a place of authority. She's often chipper, quirky, easily teased, and has a comical temper. Her lesser officers often wonder how a child was able to take their rightful position.

So begins...

Narikit, with a small groan that probably meant "Yes," obeyed Katie strictly, taking the turns and maneuvering as he ordered. There were a few round holes on the ground, probably where previous electric poles had probably been installed.

All thought of that had been erased as something extended from it into the ceiling. Narikit altered her movement just slightly to avoid it, giving a small growl of unease.

They would come to a clear path ahead of them with many of those same holes in the ground.

One could clearly guess what was about to happen.

As they approached the hole, and again one of the electric pikes shot up, meeting the ceiling. The second they walked away, it would recede back into the ground, confirming one of Katie' theories.

The field in front of them confirmed something else: they would have to run it until they got to the other side.

It almost sounded as though Narikit sighed.

As they ran, a river of electrical poles lifted behind them. They, too, picked up pace, and Narikit was beginning to get nervous, herself. Just as Katie began to relax, a wall of poles lifted up in front of them with a slim doorway, and Narikit skidded, halting by slamming right into the wall, but leaning away so that her rider would not come in contact with it.

The shock administered was not fierce, but it was enough to tear a pained snort from the ATW. She began to saunter through the low door, ducking for Katie.

That was one of the first rules programmed into the machine's mind: keep the rider safe at all costs.

There was not much left of the room, and Katie only needed to keep a vigilant eye and have a bit of common sense to worm through the rest of the maze until they came to the doorway, which slid up to reveal the next room.

It was a long track, but only fifteen feet wide, with tall, dark walls on either side. There were arrows in the center of the track, pointing ahead.

A test of speed.

The end did not come quickly. As they rushed forward, however, the holographic interface would suddenly pop up in front of Katie's face.

Remember how to jump!

It would dissolve just in time for Katie to see the seemingly bottomless pit opening up in the ground, with two arrows at the sides pointing upward.

Narikit jumped alright, and she jumped pretty high. Despite it, they fell short.

The vehicle grabbed onto the edge of the pit and slammed onto the side, scrambling, with extended metal claws, in an attempt to pull herself, and Katie, back up. The claws dug into the floor.

The next move was Katie's. There were several things that he could do. Which was the right choice, however, was debatable.

Katie was a lucky man.

Pressing the pedals had Narikit leaping into action, pulling herself, and Katie, up out of the pit. The creature took in a deep breath and let it out. She hardly needed it, but it caused her some semblance of relief.

Several pits opened up in front of them, all spaced enough for them to gather speed each time.

The rest of the course went fluidly. The wind whizzed by them as they picked up speed, feet thumping on the ground so hard that even the silent Qaviseri's steps could be heard making audible thumps.

Whoosh!

They went flying over the second pit, and again-

Whoosh! and Bam! as they landed, Narikit slipping ever so slightly before regaining her balance. Twice more, and they had a clear path ahead of them. Suddenly, however, the course took a sharp two rights.

There, they would be faced with the final challenge of the course. It was a track, just like before, but the pits were far, far to long for them to jump. The arrows pointed down the center again, but did not point upward. Instead, they ran along the walls above the pit.

"I'm here!"

Again, the holographic interface came up, and a video showing Sich took a third of the screen. "Not too bad out there! Of course, you're a beginner, so I expected the few mishaps. Are you confused about what to do next?"

"Easy!" said Sich, grinning. "Lean toward it and jump! Do you need a demonstration? It shouldn't be too much of a problem. I don't mind showing off!"

Sich's face disappeared, and the course presented itself before Katie again.

They surged forward as Katie's heel jammed onto the pedal. As soon as the handle was lifted, Narikit jumped to the wall, her body turned to the side, and her claws dug into the wall as she ran along it.

As they reached the end, she jumped using her powerful back legs to lift off, landing onto the other side with perfection.

They were led through two more wall-jumps, and after that, a door to exit the obstacle course presented itself.

Outside, Sich sat onto Kaslane, folding her arms with a fond grin. "Good job! You lived." she laughed. "You're now a licensed ATW driver. Congratulations. How do you feel?"

Sich snickered. "It would have been a little hard! The course is a lot safer than you take it for. There's not a lot on the bottom of those pits that could have killed you. None of the shock poles could have administered enough force to even knock you out, either. Really upped your attempts when you thought so, huh? I bet Narikit had a blast."

The qaviseri growled in protest. Sich rose a brow. Something came up on her own holoscreen.

"What's this?" she questioned. "Nirikita? Looks like you coaxed a name change in her, Katie."

"Sounds like a plan. You've been through quite a lot today. Tomorrow we'll teach you a few more tricks, or, if you want a break, whenever! You two are free for a good while."

She slid from Kaslane and began to walk to the door, throwing a wave back to Katie.

Sich Karis and her team were armed with little more than Caster Gloves, all only with shielding capsules. They had to protect the Mayor and his daughter at all costs, however...causing any violence upon a planet they were trying to make peace with would not earn them any brownie points at all.

So they stood, astute, wary, and ready for the worst.

Sich had been leading Katie down the hallway, her hands stuffed into her pockets as she went on and on about ATW's, trying to make him understand better that they were more than just animals and machines, but sentient spirits, including the very ship they were walking in.

The white halls of the Lalitia were littered with Zanzarians, all walking or climbing to hurriedly get to their next line of business.

One such Zanzarian was the newly appointed head of Security, Sich Karis, wearing the blue and orange uniform with the mantle flowing over her shoulders, golden buttons lining the left side. She combed her fingers through her hair and sighed, stopping a certain six-armed, grey alien climbing along the walls using the railings.

"Ustelu? I'm supposed to be meeting a Terran called Az or something soon. Do you know where he is?"

Sich tightened her lips, looking around as Urian shrugged, then began to climb away. Who had been the one who greeted this Az fellow?

She sighed and reached for her comm unit, and small blue wires, thin as a hair, lit up underneath her skin from her ear to her mouth. Skintenna. Useful things.

"If there is an Azric...Cane? Aboard, please report to the front elevators and flap your arms. Thank you!"

It was broadcast all throughout the ship, bringing frantic gazes upward as crew listened intently for orders. After hearing it had nothing to do with them and their duties, they returned to busying the halls.

Sich looked around, eyes darting about the ship.

Finally, she saw her man. The one who was attracting all the attention. She made her way to him, pressing the side of her cheek to disengage the skintenna. She smiled at Azrican, putting her hands flat on her thighs and giving him a curt bow.

"Hello, Azric! I'm Sich Karis, head of security. Nice to meet you!" she said cheerily.
