Personality
Tejas is an outcast of his race, as they are evil and he is not. But he finds it hard to fit in with other races, since they distrust him for his heritage. He is usually wary of strangers for this reason.
Equipment
Tejas wears a swordbelt that carries a katana on his left and a wakizashi on his right. He also carries a longbow. He always has a small flute with him.
History
Tejas fled from his homeland when his family tried to sacrifice him to placate Lolth, the Spider Queen. He eventually found his way to the surface world and has been trying to find a place of acceptance ever since.

Tejas 'kel Khalus's Story

Tejas 'kel Khalus enters the Gardens through the main gate, his thoughts scattered and chaotic. He doesn't even notice if anyone else is around.
Tejas 'kel Khalus feels something warm trailing down his face and he absently brushes his hand across his cheek, smearing the blood that is seeping from under his eyepatch.
Tejas 'kel Khalus silently walks away, still unaware of anyone around him. He disappears into the night.
The setting changes from Wing City Gardens (South) to Gambit's Bar
Tejas 'kel Khalus shuffles into the bar, paying no heed to the blood that trails freely from under his eyepatch. He reaches a nearby chair and grips it for support, nearly toppling himself and the chair with his effort. He eases himself into the chair as well as he can, then lays his head on the table, not caring that his blood is pooling under his face. "Usstan verve whol streea . . ." he mutters to himself.
Tejas 'kel Khalus slowly raises his head to see his would-be benefactor. He does not seem to really see her. " l'Kyorl'urn Uss, usstan verve whol streea . . . Whol streea . . ." Then his energy is spent and he collapses, sliding from his chair and crashing to the floor.
Tejas 'kel Khalus 's coat falls open, revealing another wound, this one in the side of his ribcage. It seeps blood slowly but steadily and has already soaked his shirt.
Tejas 'kel Khalus suddenly goes into a fit of coughing, blood flecking his lips and lightly misting his would-be benefactors.

Tejas 'kel Khalus opens his eyes wide, the pain and the loss of blood making him hallucinate. "Shiroi?" he calls. "Shiroi, velklar phuul dos? Velklar phuul dos ?!"
Tejas 'kel Khalus stares straight at Grifter with his one good grey eye seeming to burn into him. He asked with demanding force, "Velkar zhah ussta 'chev dalharil, Shiroi? VELKLAR??!"
Tejas 'kel Khalus concentrates hard on the man's words and, slowly, realizes he had been speaking exclusively in drow, his native language. He forced his tired, tattered mind to think in Common and, with great effort, he spoke again. "I thought I saw . . . my daughter. But . . . But I know it cannot be. She is . . . dead. She . . . is gone." Then he began to cough again, misting yet more blood.
Tejas 'kel Khalus smiles weakly. "For . . . For a moment . . . I was near to meeting Shiroi again. For one long, beautiful moment . . ." He starts to close his eyes . . .
Tejas 'kel Khalus opens his eyes wearily. "Yes. . . you are right, abbil. I . . . must live. There is no one else . . . for Sionna . . . with our daughter gone. I . . . MUST . . . live."
Tejas 'kel Khalus looks at Grifter. "You must stop the bleeding, abbil. You must . . . sear the wound . . . with fire. It will never truly heal, but . . . I will live. I MUST live."
