Silvery blue eyes would be narrowed to the ground as she trudged slowly through that of the late February winds that befell the land with a cool ghostly touch. Raven strands of just barely shoulder length hair whipped about her face while the opened collar of her dark overcoat swayed from side to side, gently batting her pale cheeks in a patterned fashion until the winds stopped. Un gloved hands would be stuffed deep within the pockets of the ankle length coat and round shoulders slack as the woman walked aimlessly upon booted feet that were sleek from the wetness that splashed up onto them due to every step she took while heading towards the nearest building she could find in this large hectic city. The closest building would be none other than Gambit's Bar, the infamous place as to where people's of all sorts gathered to chat and basically get drunk. -c-

She didnā€™t know why she was coming here, but something compelled her to investigate as to what was inside, and by following that hunch she would alas come to open the front door to the establishment and stride inside. -f-

Upon entry Valkyrie would allow for door to close behind her darkly clad frame. Slowly she lifted her head and glanced from side to side, blue eyes seemingly unimpressed with their findings as they took in the various sights displayed before their dilated forms. The six foot frame of the woman remained still and somehow discrete as she slowly removed her hands from her coat's pockets and slowly began to stride forth. It appeared almost as if she did not notice the one stalking her in a subtle manner or so to speak, but truthfully she did as she strode across the floor and made her way towards the bar. However, she wouldn't pay no mind to the man for she apparently had no interest in him or his intentions and could very well do as she pleased here, even if it meant ignoring someone for a long period of time or getting in their faces and telling them what's what. -c-

But as moments passed it wouldn't be long until Valkyrie slowly took a seat and glanced over her shoulder at the man who remained behind her darkly glad frame. "Can I help you?" She asked in a voice accented and pure, nicely sounding to the ear but hinted with no emotion and deathly silence. -f-

She only shook her head at the man's actions before waving a dismissive hand at the beverage he had gotten for her. She wasn't in the mood to drink, not now anyways. But once he spoke to her, Valkyrie would slowly turn to him. At first she gave to him a glance that questioned his words before going to look his frame up and down. If she calculated correctly, the two would stand around the same height, but knowing better as she judged by what kind of footwear the man wore, Valkyrie knew he'd be taller than she. Both of them wore dark clothing as well, thus making them look oddly alike. However, Valkyrie knew very well that she was nothing like this bare footed creature of a man who now sat by her side, appearing as if he wanted to make idle chit chat and what not. But apparently Valkyrie knew better than to speak carelessly to a demon. And by being careful with her words, only then would Valkyrie shake her head and reply with a simple, "I'm not."

Slowly she backed away from the man's touch and eyed him suspiciously. In her eyes he was either drunk and looking to get laid right about now, or was just trying to be friendly in a very odd and unusual way. But still, he wouldn't ward her off just yet as she remained seated and slowly took a hold of the shot glass placed before her. "You know what I am doing and my work is none of your business." Valkyrie replied rather coldly with a shake to her head before picking up the glass and placing the rim placidly against her soft agape lips. Tilting her head back slowly, Valkyrie would close her eyes in a calm fashion before swallowing the contents in a nice swallow before placing the glass back down onto the bar's counter top in the exact same spot as to where it belonged.

Valkyrie Victoria absentmindly shrugged to the man's observation and accepted his kindness and conversation. "I guess you can say that." She simply replied before lifting the shot glass in order to down the freshly poured contents. But instead she only stared at them, swishing them around in the glass only to watch them swirl and what not before dissipating once she tilted the glass to her lips and slowly consumed the liquid in a gulp that lasted longer than the first. "But tell me, what are you trying to get at? Because I know you wouldn't be the type who randomly follows a woman as soon as they enter a place to just talk to them over a bottle of Scotch." Valkyrie now inquired in a manner that tested one's mind as she slowly placed the cool glass down once more and slowly turned her head in order to glance to the left in his direction with eyes narrowed in wisdom and evident suspicion.

At first she did not accept his hand for she knew better than to take a demon's words for the truth. She felt the need to be careful around him and to watch his every move with close precision. "I'm sorry,' She declined with a slow shake of her head before running a hand through her hair with a smile about her lips. Momentarily she would close her eyes before slowly lifting her head in order to meet his gaze. "But I don't dance." Would be her final words, her blue hues slowly reopening as she spoke in such a tone. Sure she knew that was not what he was trying to get at, but she figured it'd be best to test him for now and take what he meant seriously for later.

Valkyrie Victoria chuckled at his words and slowly shook her head. "But what if there is nothing that I want? And apparently you are but better than I for all the simple factors I am not going to waste time listing." She replied in a rhetorical manner of course before slowly going back to face forth in her seat. "And snow ball fights are for children anyways." Valkyrie then remarked subtly alas before licking her lips to most likely hint to the man that she in fact did know what he meant by dance.

Patiently she listened to his words. She knew that this was not going to end well between them. So instead of saying than what she had said last, Valkyrie sat there quietly until she felt his hand firmly grasp her shoulder and lift her from the seat she once sat upon. Now she would be forced to look upon his face with furrowed brows and eyes filled with that of alarm and suspicion. Instead of giving to him a reply he oh so desired, Valkyrie would instead contemplate his words carefully whilst gazing up at him in an unfaltering manner. Inside she had to admit that this man was right, that she did have desires, it was in her nature to have them. However, she knew better than to automatically accept his wager. -c-

So instead of replying with a simple "Alright.' or "I'll do it.', The woman would instead come to shake her head. "I know better than to make a bet with a demon like yourself. I will not accept until you tell me what you're challenging me for to make such an offer. I am no fool and I know nothing in life is free." -f-

Most would take a step back when hearing the demon's words, but unlike most Valkyrie stood her ground. The demon's words did not phase her or toy with her head, but instead they were rather simple and she could process them within her mind without further thought or questioning. For a moment she pondered whether or not to wager whatever of her soul remained, but then the proposition sounded rather tempting. Slowly Valkyrie glanced from side to side before slowly nodding as if to indicate that she accepted his offer. "But tell me something before anything furthermore happens...' Valkyrie now said as in means to possibly question his words, a brow cocking whilst she spoke, awaiting for the demon to possibly inquire as to what she wanted to ask.

By now a smirk slid across her lips as she watched his actions with keen eyes. "My question is simple.' She began to reply, pausing possibly for effect as she would glance at the parchment momentarily. After she would try and meet his green eyes gaze. "What makes you think I'm going to hell?" She would come to ask before letting out that of a solemn sigh.

The she elfā€™s strides were swift as she sauntered forth, careful as to what she walked upon, well aware of possible traps or an ambush in wait. But something told her that she neednā€™t keep her guard up as she wondered about so in a casual sense whilst nearing to the local tavern that went by the peculiar name of [b]Gambitā€™s Bar[/u]. Unaware as to why she ventured here into civilization; the place she didnā€™t belong, Valkyrie glanced around in a curious manner as she grew nearer and nearer towards the bar. Face concealed by the hood of her cloak, her identity would be concealed for the time being. This was fortunate to the ranger as she now trudged up the wooden staircase that lead towards the entrance to the infamous establishment, just a few moments after coming out from the labyrinth of a forest that rested just nearest to here, for she was a stranger to these parts and wished to keep that way.

It wasnā€™t because that she was paranoid, but it was because Valkyrie wasnā€™t the type who socialized well and was used to being alone, within the wood, her home. Pausing in her footsteps before the door as she now stood before it, she extended a swift hand and grasped the handle. Pushing down upon it a loud click would be heard and the door opened. This gave to the elf the access needed in order to go within. Alas striding inside, Valkyrie quietly closed the door behind her cloaked gait and would hesitantly glance from side to side, studying the new faces now amongst her before going to find an isolated location at one of the many vacant seats within the domain of the bar.

From underneath of her shadowy hood, Valkyrie would glance about curiously through light brown hues. New to this place and an utter stranger to all of the patrons who currently spent their time here, she walked aimlessly, wishing to find a place as to where she could seclude herself and gain a momentā€™s peace whilst growing used to the setting of civilization. Her movements were swift, agile and rather careful as she side stepped between two tables before ducking out of some peopleā€™s way. It seemed that she was the hesitant sort, too paranoid to let their guard down. But from her point of view, the she elf had her own reasons as to why she acted the way she did. -c-

Starting first by pausing before the bar line, just behind two vacant stools, Valkyrie placed her hands upon the counter ledge and leaned forth. Glancing about for the bartender or maid stationed behind the counter for their duties to serve thirsty customers and what now, she began her patient wait in silence for it was evident that she wasnā€™t the talkative type of the type who revealed their faces either. -f-

Whenever she was acknowledged by a fellow nearby, who appeared to be from the same time period as she, Valkyire would slowly glance to her right as to where he would currently be from her position. By the way it appeared, she didnā€™t even flinch when he suddenly spoke to her, let alone seem surprised either. It seemed almost as if she knew he was going to talk to her. Instead of replying to his comment at first, the ranger lifted her head and glanced from side to side before nodding in acknowledgement to him. After she had done just that, Valkyrie seemed to continue her patient wait from underneath of the concealment of her tattered cloak, masking her appearance from those around her whilst she slowly began to tap her fingers upon the counter top in a steady pace that could possibly appear creepy to oneā€™s gaze if they were to stare long enough.

Yet another occupant would acknowledge her silent form as she patiently waited to be serviced. Glancing towards him she studied his elderly appearing face from underneath of the hood of her cloak. Slowly nodding towards him in acknowledgement, Valkyrie remained silent, rather hesitant to look away from him as she would try to continue her wait. Despite how long it was taking, she would not be tempted to go behind the counter herself and steal, for it was the wrong thing to do. Even though the wait sort of tested her patience and this rather promising looking place began to look more like a dump, the elf refrained from socializing or seating herself until service came to her for patience was a virtue.

At long last her patient would be worn and her legs weary from standing so. Valkyrie sighed gently now, subtly shaking her head in seeming regret to waiting for something that never come. But she had time, she was an elf, an immortal. Lifting her finger tips up from the mahogany counter ledge, Valkyrie dropped her hands limply by her side before taking a slow step back. Before she could dare make her way towards the exit whence she came, the she elf would hear a loud shout emitting from across the room. Slightly astonished by this, Valkyrie turned on that of the balls of her feet, her tattered blue roan cloak swaying with her gait, she would come to see that of a modern appearing fellow in distress.
