Verissa Sha'le
Title:
High Shaman
Personality:
A nice enough person, Verissa's friendly countenance is thrown a little by her arrogant dismissing of the concerns of the lesser races, as she calls them, and the obsession with protecting her kind. The fact that it means so much to her compared to the other races shows a little of selfishry and just how far her kind put themselves above all others.
Her demeanour to those not of the Wild Elves is dismissive in nature, almost never meeting their eyes or acknowledging any kind of equality. In fact, she will intentionally avoid anything that would give the impression that she was not above them, too far above them to even bother too much with them. It would take grave danger for her to even contemplate the thought of holding conversation with one, let alone discussing anything of import with one.
However, underneath that she is a generous soul, and if not for the superiority that came with not only the blood, but how she was brought up and taught, she would be quite the caring soul. As it was, life, her duty and how she was taught has formed that generosity into her willingness to give anything to protect her people. However, her dismissive nature comes solely from her past, and if someone could break that covering... Well, it would open her up once more, but it would also take something that would likely scar her to do so...
Equipment:
Aertemei:
The Staff of the High Shaman. Considered a sacred artifact, it is quite the powerful power cache. It's unique ability to draw magic in when around nature and hold that magic in a massive.. almost dam, allows the user of this artifact to draw on immense reserves of magic. It doesn't make the user more powerful, for certain, but outlasting someone using Aertemei would require at least something able to hold a massive amount of magic itself.
Twin knives:
Because sometimes magic isn't always useful. Something Verissa knows quite well.
Powers:
Magic, Nature:
The power to call on the wild, often thought of as Shamanistic powers. She is only mediumly powered in this way, and isn't particularly notable for anything other than her control, and her endurance. It takes a lot of use to tire her.
History:
When one is designated by the oracles and ancestors to bear a role in the Sha'le family. Then there is no questions, no protests allowed. For some, they consider it a blessing and an honour. Some merely think of it as a task necessary to be taken. Verissa is unsure what to make of her calling.
"Protector, defend your peoples. Averter, deflect your woe. Shaman, call forth your ancestors, so that your path, you can know."
A Shaman, or even a High Shaman, is somewhere between a simple healer and an official of some kind. With many little aspects of infastructure and guiding others. Someone who keeps an eye on the families, making sure that they hold true. Someone that protects the people from destruction. The guides, as it were. Bound by duty and conscious decision to keep firm in their path.
Theirs is the task of the guiding hand. Guide's chosen by their god above.
