Personal History
Wing was born as half of the tenth twinset to the previous Queen, but she always knew in her heart that the elder nine twinsets would die before her mother ever came close to death. After all, both her father and her uncle were highly protective of the previous queen.
Still, destined to be queen or not, royal or not, Wing was determined to learn her people by heart. So she convinced her Dark that it behooved them to quietly, calmly blend in with the general populace. Thus, Wing enter Light Academy in the capital city of Erutino.
What she saw shocked and dismayed her. There were huge gaps in the education of Lights. No math was taught beyond basic arithmetic, and no science was taught at all! Indeed, Lights were even limited in their shifting as they knew almost nothing of anatomy.
Upon her graduation from Light Academy, her Dark went on to Warrior Academy and Wing quietly took a legal apprenticeship, barely managing to get one. She completed this in a decade and, after pulling a noble away from their own work to learn how to rule from her, she toured the dimensions, determined to learn about her people all over.
The vaste differences in quality of life throughout the dimensions astounded her. As she visited settlement after settlement and learned about the culture of the people they had chosen to slowly take over, Wing was astounded to learn that almost no society they were blending into had such a strong underclass, and almost none had one based on birth order of all things.
So Wing learned, and absorbed all she saw. And she saw that the societies with no underclass, where all were equal, advanced much faster than those with any underclass at all.
She continued her tour for another twenty years, during which time the eldest five twinsets all died, leaving only four between her and the throne. Fear filled her heart and she returned to Erutino and her Dark's side.
The two discussed all Wing had seen. A Champion was needed. Someone chosen by the goddesses to change their society. But Wing was only 46, and as she spoke to the priestesses, it was revealed that not for another seventy one years would the needed champion be chosen.
Even then, the priestesses revealed that Wing would have to do a heart breaking, horrifying thing in order to instigate this change.
As the Queen-to-be watched her sibling slowly, steadily die off, she struggled with the realization that she would be forced to do the unthinkable if she truly wanted to cause the change that needed to happen.
At age 73, Wing ascended to the throne. She gathered about her Elite guards that were forward thinking, knowing she would need them in order to carry out her plans. Only a year from the dreaded event, she consulted the priestesses of Eiateila, the goddess of the dawn and of change. The Goddess spoke. It would be the mated pair Feather and Stone that gave birth to the chosen twins in a litter of four. The only litter of four that Feather would have that year.
Summer came and with it, during Wing's 117th year, the litter of four was born. The acolyte who served as midwife to Feather quietly informed the woman that her children's names were Thunder, Rain, Snow, and finally Hope. The chosen one had been born.
Here, only a week after their birth, Wing had five of her elite quietly steal the litter away from their mother. She spent a mere week with them, frequently hold Hope in her arms and pondering this little babe's fate before she had three of the litter, Hope, Thunder, and Rain, returned to their mother and Snow was pulled far away from her Light twin, placed into a home where she would be cared for. This too, Wing trusted to that same team of elite.
However, before either girl could be separated, Wing and the High Priestess of each Goddess perform a ritual on the two girls, capturing the tiniest bit of each girl's soul and trapping it into an orb for each girl. These Soul Orbs, which the girls were to never hear of, would allow the Queen to keep the girls from dying until the Soul Orbs had been destroyed.
For each day the girl's were dead, they would lose half a day's memory, but Wing had them under heavy surveillance, so was able to quickly revive the girl's each time.
Now the queen, who had astounded her people by increasing the standards of education at the Light Academies and quietly changing what laws she could sneak under the council's nose to help Light's gain some form of equality, could only watch and wait.
Her eyes were on Hope, celebrating her every triumph, and feeling her every setback. Her Dark she trusted to oversee Snow and help the Dark become strong enough to trust the Light she had never met, and to stand behind her, rather than in front of her blocking the way.
The council steadily became filled with cruel Darks who mistreated their Lights and their mates as Wing watched, and the Queen knew she would have a battle to fight on her front to soften the way for Hope.
Then, to her horror, the council heard of Hope and Snow. No! Hope could never have the support of Snow, not if the council had their way. As Wing scrambled to prevent them from interfering, the council insured the Snow and Hope be unable to find each other in their own time.
It was only Snow's cleverness that managed to get her close enough to Hope for the two to meet. The Queen would have breathed a sigh of relief and joy at this, had the council only allowed her a breath before sending the first assassins after Hope. If they could not keep the two from meeting and supporting each other in their 'radical' ideals, they would simply kill the twins.
Very well, Wing revealed her hand in all this by sending Blade, an elite that had been with her since before Hope's birth, one of her Top Elite Guards, to protect the duo. Now, the Council knew they would fight this war against equality on two fronts. A Queen who loved her people on one side, and on the other front, a naive shifter who had survived only thanks to the cunning of her queen.
The Council had the advantage. But Wing had determined they would not win this war. Change, desperately needed in the highly advanced, yet heavily stagnated society, would occur.
Whether the Council wanted it to or not.
The timid Queen quickly found that she could not win the war unless the two fronts were combined however, and quickly did just that, Hiding out in Wing City, with the Captain of her Elite Royal Guard, Wing sought out Hope Anona, to speak with her. It was with ease she found the happy-go-lucky woman, who had only recently reunited with her twin.
The two joined forces and after several months of hard word, brought down Winnie's twin, the corrupt council, and reinstated Wing as Queen over her people. And during this time, Wing grew ever closer to Blade Ulenna, until finally, before she sat on that throne, she mated him.
It did not take long after taking the throne for Wing to become pregnant and give birth two four rambunctious cubs: Dust and Shine; Steel and Thistle. Her kingdom's civil war still raged, but in the palace, things were, if not peaceful, mostly calm.
This would not last. Empress Wing soon lost her twin to death, not just the coma, and her oft gone husband disappeared one day, the victim, Wing believed, of pirates. She merely knew she no longer felt their bond, and thus considered him dead. Then came the attack on her home lands, and Wing disappeared from public for her safety, living on a planet hidden away as Hope acted first as regent, then the eldest twins acted as rulers over her nation. But a second attack came, and for their protection, the twins turned the to Hegemony for help, ceding control to that nation for nearly a decade, until Wing was placed once more on her throne thanks to the cleverness of her niece and nephew, her own children having abdicated all rights to rule.
