Description
The Titan
The Titan is the flagship of the Nahatsu representative in the MOD, one of the only ships in the entirety of the fleet that is completely made up of tech, and not a hybrid of magic or biology. The Titan was created out of every remnant ship in Nahatsu's initial fleet, including the scraps in orbit. The weapons on board are standard ship-to-ship missiles, and its targeting systems and navigation are shoddy at best. But what makes The Titan valuable is its communications systems. Combining AI technology and the spirits found on Misrana, the Titan can broadcast any communication to any place on the planet or off of it in mere seconds. This ability has the Titan filling two roles; the first, as tactical overseer of any fleet combat scenario. The second, a first alert response, should the MOD be pierced and Misrana under attack. The Titan is charged with alerting the planet below for a wide-scale evacuation, if necessary.
Mumfish ("Sharks")
What the Misrana Orbital Defense call "Sharks" are actually large, fishlike ships that are, as usual, a combination of technology, magic, and nature. The Sharks were created when the Nahatsu discovered that there were breeds of large aquatic animals that didn't need air to survive, and what's more, thrived off of energy and even healed from it. After field testing, the Nahatsu put the ships on the front line, making up the bulk of the fleet. The Sharks act as the MOD's cruisers; absorbing damage while the Battleships get in range for long-range attacks. One of the most deadly tactics the Sharks employ is what they call the "Scent of Blood" manoeuvre. The Sharks fly straight for a target ship, healing themselves with the energy thrown off of it until ramming the opposing ship into pieces. This move, while highly successful in destroying opponents, also has a high fatality rate for crew members aboard ship.
Furrow-Balkar ("Minnows")
The Furrow-Balkar was another species found under the planet's oceans; a sister fish to the Mumfish. The Furrow-Balkar are the standard "fighter" of the MOD, small and fast, with response times rivalling any ace pilot. Their weaponry is meagre at best; they can barely scratch the surface of any decently built hull, but against other small fighters, their single-cannon bursts shred through engines and shielding alike. Their main purpose is delivery of VU's to enemy fleets, with the priorities being the larger, heavier ships.
Viral Units (VU's)
Smaller spacecraft, roughly 500 metres long that are normally piloted by spirits. They are suicide units, and go in with all the intent of never coming back. They breach shields and attach to larger ships, using a drill to breach the hull and inject Chorozoi, human-sized cybernetic beings that carry the resemblance of an octopus, into the ship. Each tentacle ends with either sharp metal claws or grapples used to rend wires, flesh, and anything else they can catch, into pieces. Many carry throwing bombs on their person, and a small laser used to further infiltrate any walled off areas.
Orbital Defense Platforms
The last line of defence, should an enemy breach the MOD. These towering platforms hover at satelite distance, each spread across the equator of the planet below. There are forty in all around Misrana's surface. Their job is to send every ship and missile they have at oncoming fleets seeking to land, with the secondary job of healing or refueling friendly ships, acting as a pre-spaceport docking bay. The ODP's have two man weapons; Sting Rays, and VU's.
Swerrup Kalak ("Sting Rays")
Sting Rays were an airborne creature, that had a very deadly natural reflex to predators. Their bellies are filled with pure acid, combined with a gas known as "Hydrium" that keeps them afloat. When a predator attacks the Sting Ray, they explode. In almost every case, the predators - and the Swerrup - are destroyed. But what makes them unique is that the birds' spirits can find a new host and live within it. The MOD equipped them with armored plating and breathing apparatuses, and they now live among the ODP's, some of them, until a time where they are needed.
