Setting
"Is there...anything in particular you which to converse with me about?" Darius asked Gamble, feeling a lot more comfortable now that he stood.
"Yes, actually... Remember we spoke a little about this before... About feelings, what's important..." He trailed off for a moment before continuing. "I was asking about... Happiness, what made you feel happy." He placed the tea cup gently on the table, tilting his head to look curiously at the standing Darius.
Darius smiled in his cat like way, crimson eyes glowing softly with the spike that he felt, glad that Gamble was taking an interest in his work, or, at least what he thought he was taking an interest in.
"So you enjoy what you do, that's good..." He said after a moment, looking curious once again as he tried to think of the correct way to phrase his next query. "Do you not... Enjoy doing anything for yourself? Any hobbies? For example, I like to draw. Nothing too good, but it’s something... You see?" He hoped he didn't sound patronising; he simply wanted to make sure Darius understood what he was asking.
"Am I...supposed too?" Darius asked, raising one slender eyebrow while glancing back to his master.
"Am I...supposed too?" Darius asked, raising one slender eyebrow while glancing back to his master.
He then tilted his chair back slightly, a thoughtful expression coming to his features as Darius asked the question, being silent for a time before replying. "Hmm... Well you don't have to if you don't want to... but I think it's nice to have an interest, something that you enjoy doing besides work - not that there's anything wrong with enjoying that." He added quickly, pausing again. "Would you be interested in trying to find something? And answer honestly, not what you think I want to hear." He chuckled quietly.
"Of course if this factor displeases you...then I should endeavor to change it..." Darius commented, resting a arm across his chest and bowing his head very slightly.
He then lifted a hand to tap the feather resting on his chest, moving the same hand to tap the silver band adorning Darius' wrist. "Whatever you enjoy doing, you should do. That's all I want."
"Thank you Master Gamble..but...prior to this conversation, you informed me that you held feelings for myself on a high and intimate scale...is it not your wish that I should learn that same feeling for yourself...?" Darius asked, the confusion thick in his strong British tone but he tried to smile, however unsure it looked.
"If you could explain the feeling that both you and Miss Bunny are experiencing, perhaps I will understand it better...?"
"You're asking me to explain... Well... I can't say for Bunny but, for me you're talking about... Love." He swallowed slightly, willing himself to go on despite the awkwardness and odd self-loathing he felt. "It’s hard to explain... But I will try. Its where you... You want the other person to miss you when you're away, to be happy when they see you, happier than anyone else." He paused, sighing. "I'm sorry... It's hard to explain..." He trailed off, still trying to think of how to do so.
"So..is this the reason that you and Master Lan decided to...um..." Darius trailed off, frowning slightly at how to describe the action. "to become...." He faltered, waving a hand slightly through the air, to try and signify what he meant without having to say such a filthy word.
"Let me try again to explain... I don't want to confuse you with this..." He closed his eyes, leaning back against his chair. "Love is... Ultimately selfish I suppose, where a person wants to devote themselves entirely to another, through no obligation, simply because they want to." He made sure to distinguish this feeling with the one their contract formed. "And where someone wants to do anything and everything they can to make the other person happy." -c-
"So...sort of like, and infatuation....?" He mused, "And then...in saying that...you yourself are taking me away from Miss Bunny, who has not had opportunity to confront me properly with her feelings....as we have known each other for much longer than you and I." Darius said, crimson eyes still slightly narrowed. "Though I asked to make a contract with you...Master Gamble...does that not mean that I am yours no matter...? What do you have to worry about...?"
He then lightly shook his head, trying and failing to remove the look of self-loathing from his features. "And the contract is... It’s something physical that binds us, and while I feel very privileged and happy that you chose to make one with me... It isn't the same... It is an emotional connection, a deep one... A feeling of wanting to be with the other person all the time, no matter what.“ –c-
As they reached the flat, Gamble took out his key and unlocked the door, pushing it open, holding it briefly for Darius to step through. Still he said nothing, not looking at the demon as he turned and walked to the main room, untying the casual tie tied about his white shirt, placing it across the arm of a chair before sitting in it.
He still said nothing for several moments, his head tilted downward to stare down at his knees, a hand fiddling idly with the feather tied about his neck. Eventually he seemed to snap out of his daze as he looked back up, not meeting Darius' eyes as he spoke in a firm and somewhat commanding tone. "Some tea would be lovely... Thank you, Darius..." His head then tilted back down, brow furrowing slightly as he was apparently deep in thought.
He didn't mention anything more about the tea cups, it wasn't needed...but soon returned with Gamble's tea as he liked it, gently placing it down onto the table in front of him.
"Here you are..."
It was difficult for Gamble to remain like this, firm and somewhat detached from the demon in front of him... However he forced himself to remain as such, believing that this was what the demon preferred.
"I....as you know my brother means a lot to me and my family...though since the last time, when you where present, and I shouted at him...I fear that he may have sacrificed himself with that doe woman....and I havn't seen hide nor hair of Miss Bunny since the last time I was unwell...and you, Master Gamble..." Darius said gently, letting his eyes fix onto the shorter male's face.

He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, a growing headache coming to him as he took things a topic at a time, beginning with (what seemed to be) the easiest. "Bunny will be fine, Darius... She's a strong... Woman and she wouldn't let anything stop her coming back to see you, you know that... Trust me, she'll be just fine." His heart ached somewhat as he spoke the words, but he pushed the feelings aside in order to try and aid the demon's worries.
"Master Gamble...would you mind terribly if I stayed with you this evening? I am not feeling within myself to return back to the lecter mansion after seeing my brother..." Darius called to him, standing straight.
He was so preoccupied his cheeks failed to form even the slightest blush at Darius' suggestion, and he called back into the room. "Oh, of course, its fine..." He paused before adding. "You can sleep in the bed, I'll rest on the couch. I wouldn't want to... Make you uncomfortable." The fact that the bed was big enough for the pair of them to rest in with touching didn't really occur to him; he thought that Darius would rather he was away.
