Star Gerut

The red giant which functions as the Xev'at Solar System's star, Gerut is named after the Dwarven word for inferno (Ger'zvut; simplified for non-Dwarven speakers). This name wasn't just chosen for the flames that bellow within the star, but also because the rumors of its creation and formation as a red star.

The rumor goes that long ago the egg of a solar dragon once floated through the stars and was no larger than the moons which orbit the various planets within the solar system. However, the egg began to exude an intense flame as the dragon grew closer and closer to hatching from its shell. The closer the flame got to red, the closer the dragon was to hatching. Currently the star is a deep scarlet, leading many to believe that the day the solar dragon will hatch is nigh and any day now its hatching will bring the apocalypse for those within the Xev'at Solar System.

This is, however, a rumor and those more scientifically inclined are quick to dismiss this.
