Age: 632
Race: Vampire
Loyalty: No view on the Delegates internal politics, mostly out to further his own clan.
Abilities (Two ONLY):
Osteokinesis: 'Bone moving'. Nero is able to manipulate the skeletal structures of others through physical contact. As a result he can break bones, erode them...or even cause new ones to form. It's no uncommon for him to use it to hold high priority captives using shackles made of their own, living bones.
Personality: Nero is a quiet, thoughtful figure. Like most of his former clan he is habitually polite and courteous, even to his enemies, and rarely, if ever loses his temper. He always seems a little too pleased with himself, never seeming nervous or concerned, a trait that is a little unnerving. He is rather guarded about himself, always careful to remain mostly enigmatic, not wanting to give people any information that they could use later. He is a skilled tactician, and far less interested in conquest that his predecessor, and far less inclined to show off or underestimate his does, something that had ultimately been Cray's undoing. Nero prefers to fight smarter rather than fight harder.
Underneath this, Nero is ambitious and amoral. He has a certain cruel and spiteful streak to him that he usually tends to keep to himself, reserving it only for those who have severely upset him. Saying that he has no aversion to dirty tactics and trickery to achieve what he wants. While he wants his clan to become powerful through legitimate means where The Exsanguis became powerful through intimidation and murder, as far as Nero is concerned, the end always justifies the means when it comes to political influence.
History: One of Benjamin Cray's former lieutenants, Nero was turned by Cray some years before. He showed promise, having a keen mind and an eye for strategy, so Cray trained him up to be of use as a commander. Nero was put in charge recruitment and intelligence, as well as the management of relations with other clans. While this gave him plenty of influence, Nero was never particularly happy with the job he had. He wanted to be calling the shots, and the removal of Cray allowed him to realize his dream.
Nero gathered up remaining Exsanguis members who were left lost without the guidance of a ruler, and offered himself as someone to follow. He soon gained a large following, sharing Cray's talent for getting people on his side, but no longer maintaining such vice-like control. From the burning wreckage of the old Exsanguis clan rose Nero's new vision of how it should be.
He, and several of his clan members presented themselves at the Delegate HQ after Midnight's return, and proceeded to watch what unfolded. With Midnight out of the way, and the Delegates struggling, they felt they could afford to be a little more overt.
Abandoning previous concerns about impressions, and adopting the title 'Exsanguis Novus' they set about establishing bases in London and Paris, with plans to settle in other major European cities as numbers grew. They started to pick and 'recruit' people to become vampires on the quiet. They also set about 'domesticating' the local werewolf populations. They did a good job of covering themselves, and little of their deeds made news in the community.
