Fears:
Athazagoraphobia, the fear of being forgotten or ignored or forgetting, is a big fear for Scarlett. For some reason, as a child she seemed to be rather invisible, and the few friends she had always moved away. Soon, she began to slowly become terrified of forgetting about them, them forgetting about her, or anyone ignoring her. Therefore leaving her to try her best and stand out at times.
Claustrophobia, the fear of confined spaces, a common thing for her to be scared of with the way her mom would tell Scarlett stories from her past. The thing that set this off though, was when her mother left her alone with a babysitter when she was young and the babysitter decided to lock Scarlett in a closet just for giggles. Man, was her mom pissed off with that babysitter.
Coulrophobia, the fear of clowns that, was passed down from her mom and a movie with a cannibal clown that eats kids. No surprise there.
Placophobia the fear of tombstones, coimetrophobia the fear of cemeteries, necrophobia the fear of death or dead things, and Thantophobia the fear of dying all seemingly fall under the same category to Scarlett. She doesn’t like going to them at all, hell, she doesn’t even like to mention them! Their creepy and due to way too many zombie movies and horror movies she refuses to even think about sleeping if she hears their names. Yeah, she likes to watch TV shows about them, but when it comes to anything dealing with them in day to day activities you can count her out. There is no way for her to even think about going without someone she trusts a lot to go with her.
Personality:
||Positives||
Scarlett loves being able to help others, and is in general practically a little goodie-two shoes who likes to try and please everyone. Something that will eventually be her down fall in the end. She doesn't like to see people cry, get angry, or even give up without a fight. She'll always try something to get others to smile, even though it may hurt her; she doesn't mind. She's a supportive person to almost everyone and tries to forgive as much as she possible can. Just the feeling of knowing she made someone's day is enough for Scarlett to actually be happy herself, and just spending time with others is enough to make her excited.
Scarlett is also a creative girl, always coming up with ideas for stories and tiny sketches. Though, most of her creative ideas end up 'appearing' while she's sleeping, so in the morning she rarely remembers much of the dream. The little she does remember though, goes straight into a notebook with a bunch of other ideas waiting to be turned into stories. With such a creative mind, she typically enjoys to daydream or sleep for long periods of time. Of course, that's only when she's actually stressing out.
Scarlett likes to stand out from the crowd, always trying new things and being pretty eccentric when she wants to be. Of course, she isn't very active in sports or anything to require too much effort or she just doesn't like. Typically, she's normally found thinking of ways to get rid of her stress which ends up giving her insomnia at times. It's an on and off thing when she is stressed, mainly due to the troubles she faced at home.
||Negatives||
Due to being such an air-head, Scarlett is pretty much always late. Never once has she arrives on time or even bother too. Part of it's because she just lets her mind wonder, another part of it is due to the fact that she's actually a bit too... lazy, to bother with it. She'll eventually get around to going of course, but she isn't the most reliable person to ask if you need something right away. Even in a serious conversation Scarlett may drift in and out, looking somewhere else and all about. Of course, this doesn't mean she's not listening. She's fully aware of the conversation most of the time, but if it bores her she'll just completely zone out and eventually ramble on about something else. Or if you leave her alone or tell her to do something, she may end up wandering around aimlessly unless someone reminds her what she should be doing.
She's also quite a clumsy girl, practically tripping over her own two feet, let alone dropping something. Normally within a week, Scarlett most likely has fallen quite a bit. Not to mention this also contributes to her unluckiness and how she tends to always lose things that are the most important to her or that she needs right away.
Scarlett is pretty unorganized, she never has anything when she needs it and everything is typically scattered all over. Nothing is ever neat with Scarlett whatsoever. This can normally throw her off every once and awhile with assignments. But she normally at least tries to stay organized, it just never seems to stay that way after a few hours.
Due to her on and off cases of stress related insomnia, Scarlett tends to be a moody, emotional wreck. So she tends to flip her lid more than a normal person. This is what causes Scarlett’s every once and awhile to actually just snap and start to be a really rude person. However, Scarlett keeps herself in check most of the time with certain pills prescribed by her doctor back home.
History: When Scarlett was a little girl, she always had someone around her telling her what to do and what not to do. It was almost as if no one really wanted her to have her own free will, like she was a trapped little bird in a cage with a bunch of cats watching her every move. Whenever she'd slip up, that's when she'd be yelled at. She tried her best to be the perfect little girl for her single mom, always striving for her mother's approval. As she grew up though, she never really knew how hard her mom tried to make sure they had enough money for food and bills, or how hard it was for her to keep Scarlett's real dad, Hypnos, a secret. How hard it was to pretend everything was okay...
Eventually, Scarlett's mom had gotten remarried. Yeah, the man she married was sweet and all, but something just didn't seem right. They seemed too... different. Normally, being different was great, as the old saying was that opposites attract, right? Well, as it turns out Scarlett's mom had married strictly for the money, seeing as the man was fairly wealthy. She wanted a better life for her and Scarlett no matter what was the outcome. She had no idea at the time how painful it was for Scarlett though. Scarlett knew that she had to live knowing that she'd probably never meet her real father, seeing how her mother was skilled at always avoiding the classic 'When will daddy come home?' question. That she was left alone with a mother who didn't seem to truly understand her and a step-dad that didn't even seem to notice poor Scarlett unless her mother was nearby. Even then, he did it trying to get Scarlett’s mom to love him.
Scarlett snapped soon, no longer wanting to be stepped on by anyone. She was having a hard enough time focusing on school work due to insomnia being too tired to do much correctly, and sometimes kids would make fun of her for her poor grades or her father not being that. Or even that she was invisible and no one would miss her. It hurt, so much she couldn't help but sob her little eyes out. She picked a fight with a kid at her school and got the crap beat out of her. When she got to the nurse after being dragged away by the principle. She had a black-eye yet what surprised the adults was that she hardly even felt or noticed that it was even there. It was that night when she finally managed to shut her eyes and dream, she saw her dad, Hypnos. She couldn't help but talk all about the strange man she saw in her dreams once she woke up, even though she couldn't seem him well at all. Scarlett was about 10 at the time of course, and her mother debated if she should say anything to her daughter or wait another 5 years and tell her when she was 15.
Her mother chose to wait until Scarlett was 15 in the end.
When she told Scarlett, Scarlett honestly had no idea if her mother was crazy or not. No matter how many times her mother would explain it to her, she just couldn't help but deny the fact that the man in her dream was the god of sleep and her real dad. Nope, no way in hell. It took her mother months to convince Scarlett what she was saying was true, and even when she did get through to Scarlett she remained a bit worried that her mom had lost it. It wasn't long after that she had another dream, this time of a school. When she awoke from the dream in the middle of the night, Scarlett tried her hardest to remember what the school looked like but she couldn't. It took until she was 16 to finally figure out what school it was. Actually, her mom told her about it. About Olympus Academy.
Anything else?
-When living with her step-dad and her mom, Scarlett owned two cats, one dog, and one bird. Shadow, Sugar, Sasha, Raina.
-Before she left home for Olympus Academy, Scarlett actually talked with her step-dad and connected with him one on one.
-Scarlett tends to fuss over things and gets quite worked up about them. Normally, this also 'helps' her stress increase as she not only stresses about the small stuff easily, but depending on what else is going on with just mash together with the stress, making her get insomnia quite easily.
-She had just turned 16 when her mom told her, so she actually came right after her birthday.
