Amelia's Story

As one approaches the shop there is a sign that reads, "This store is closed, but we are looking for hired hands. Please inquire inside. In the darkened shadows of the store a woman looks out and wonders if anyone will come to her lovely shop. Her eyes are sullen as she rubs her long, black fingernails together.

Her mind wanders as she thinks, "Where are all the customers? It's a wonderful Monday." She leans against the windowsill pressing her face against the glass panes pains and moans, "Where are my customers..."

This is the creepy store known as Bagatelle Boutique and its owner Amelia. Despite the owner's odd actions she is actually extremely serious and strict, however, today her mood is especially bad since business as slumped for this top rated magic store. No thanks to the lack of hired help and the woman's increasing workload. She does research in her spare time and is more than happy to be doing that rather than selling trinkets, but she can't do research without money, so she's been inclined to do both.

"I hope Alastair and Lura get here soon..." Amelia groaned as she put a list of things to do on her front door. It was a series of things she wanted her hopeful, new hired hands to do.

"Please find my purple hair ribbon I dropped it in the woods." the new sign said.

As Amelia finished putting up her sign she noticed that the sky had grown dark overhead. "I better find the children." she said as she refereed to Lura, Alastair, and Aarti.

She pulled out a piece of paper from the hem of her skirt and crumpled it in her hands before muttering, "Seeking spell of that searches things find the children I do seek." The paper erupted into a ball of fire and Amelia was engulfed in these flames before disappearing from her shop in a puff of smoke and ash. The only thing that stated that she had ever been there was a small burn mark on the floor where she had been standing before.

"I heard that the sunshine is good there though so I'm starting to wonder if it's all that bad. If I were to go there for example would I be able to work on my tan? Probably... Although, Aarti, what you say is most likely true I doubt Evelyn wouldn't mind going there herself to find out what it's really like." Lura responded to Aarti's comment speaking in a slightly irritated tone. He seemed to really be ignoring her today.

When Lura finished speaking she felt a drop of water land on her nose, then more as a sudden down pour came. "It's raining!" she cried as she looked up into the sky.

Suddenly a plume of flame erupted next to her and a lady with long black hair was standing next to Lura. "Where have you all been?" the woman asked. She looked towards Evelyn when she noticed the girl dressed like a fortune teller and said, "Sorry suddenly appearing here like this, but I'm not sure I know you. I suppose you're someone new that all these children from Malena just met." Amelia paused for a moment and closed her eyes, "It doesn't feel like the rain is going to stop, so why don't we all go ahead and leave the outskirts of Malena here and go some place dry. I can offer my shop for just the thing."

Amelia looked from Lura to Alastair to Aarti to Evelyn and added, "I'm sure the the blue haired boy, Alastair Fable, his sister, Lura, and their friend, Aarti, know me, but I'm not sure you do at all."

Amelia stretched out her hand to Evelyn and said, "My name is Amelia and I run a magic shop in town. We can get better acquainted later, but I'm going to let you all come to my shop to get out of the rain."
