Name: Genevieve

Race: Elf
Appearance: She stands 6'6" with a typical lithe figure. She's got an athletic-type body but has yet to work on building muscle, instead preferring to enhance her knowledge. She generally wears plain white long-sleeved shirts, occasionally with a vest if it's particularly chilly outside, and plain brown or gray pants. Style isn't her forte; she doesn't have a lot of money because of her chosen lifestyle (more on that later on). She's got pale blonde hair that cascades down to her hips that she keeps in a single braid in front of one shoulder. She's got eyes as dark as oil, and those eyes can see as well as a cat's during the night. The tips of her ears are pointed and pierced many times over, with hoops and studs climbing up both ear lobes. Her face is angular, with a narrow jaw and sharp cheekbones and eyebrows. This gives her a somewhat mean looking appearance, but she isn't as cruel as she looks. If you want an image, this is as close to how I picture her as I could find.
Role/Occupation: School teacher to elementary-aged children, and as a hobby she's becoming a history scholar.
Personality: Too serious for her own good! She loves to be in control and doesn't like to be made to look a fool. She's a young elf, which is why she hasn't gotten the childish desire of being in control all the time under control yet. She loves to learn new things, but doesn't like trying new things. She's curious but cautious by nature. She's quiet and slow to anger, but when she does get angry she gets irate and loud and causes a scene. She has no problems with holding a century old grudge. She's usually optimistic, choosing to see the beauty in situations but scarcely ever in people, but she's learning to see the good in people.

Bio: Genevieve was born in Tennance, the Elven capital of the snow-capped western forests. For her first fifteen years of life she was spoiled by her parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. However, she came to realize that this had made her dumb and naive. Thus was born her craving for knowledge. For ten years, she learned as much as she could from the libraries in the city, but Tennance was such a sheltered city. Large and unprotected from the freezing winters, but cut off from the outside world. More time passed as she learned loads about her own kind and its history, but she'd never talked to a human, nor any other race, and she couldn't even imagine that another city could have a different style of architecture than the one she was born into. She decided to leave Tennance; something generally unheard of. Who would leave a city where your every desire (except warmth) was granted? Someone looking to see what the world had to offer, that's who.
Genevieve spent about a year traveling before she completely ran out of currency. She was skilled enough to hunt things like rabbits and build shelters for herself, but that could only last so long. She was certainly learning about the nation's other biomes, that was for sure. She nearly died of dehydration during the summer months staying at an inn in one of the hottest places on the continent. She found that she hated the heat. Though she grew homesick, she wouldn't dare return to her family, who had shunned her for leaving "perfect happiness" behind. She eventually stumbled upon the town of Garen, where she befriended an old mage willing to teach her the basics of magic. He passed away, or ran away, or disappeared, Genevieve never found out, before she learned much. She plans to extend her education of magic later on. Meanwhile, her short time with the mage was just enough time to grow to like the town of Garen. Starting out in a makeshift shelter outside the city, she eventually made her way up the social ladder from "hobo" to "average citizen" with a job in the childrens' schoolhouse. When Genevieve heard about this spectacular artifact that was being searched for, she read up on the legends and myths. When she heard that there was a team going to search for it, she looked at the circumstance as a way to explore more of the nation that was still so new to her, and planned to take advantage of it.
