Description

Image
Role: Leader

Name: Val York Jr.

Age: 60

Height: 6'1''

Personality: Gruff and laid-back, but very alert. Tough but gentle, like leather. Enjoys simple things, like music, and rocking chairs. Kind of dumb, but more like a smart dumb (example: understands why plants grow, but unable to tell an orange from an apple when he is slightly tired). Loves his family dearly; they are usually what's on his mind when you ask. The typical midwestern American.

Weapon: An Armalite AR-18 with a full-auto selector switch and a 70's-era Colt 4x scope, a customized Remington 870 for close-quarters work, and a bare-bones Rock Island Armory GI 1911A1 in case he needs to finish himself off.

Skills: He is 'tactically enabled', an experienced soldier with no regard to anyone who isn't on his team. He knows how to operate efficiently and, more importantly, how to knock over businesses in an acceptable time frame before the cops show up. He has an understanding on paramilitary response time, standard investigative protocols, and how to space out his crimes to make it all look random.

History: Val grew up on a small farm in rural Nebraska, and due to troubled home life involving multiple stepfathers and an unpresent mother, he ran away from home and lived off the land for a little more than a year. He learned to hunt, shoot, forage for food, and piss off the local populace. By the winter of 1967, he managed to hunt an entire section of wildlife to death, and when he decided dying hungry and cold wasn't for him, he joined the Marines at the height of the Vietnam war. Due to his excellent survival skills, he was chosen for an experimental reconnaissance unit dubbed Surveillance and Target Acquisition, or STA for short. His STA group was placed with the 2nd Platoon of the Marine's Golf Company, who were stationed in Saigon during the Tet Offensive. His unit soon became responsible for racking up a body count consisting of enemy VIPs, as well as any additional personnel and associated supplies considered a threat to the US presence in Vietnam. After spending 4 years assassinating tax collectors, lieutenants, propaganda distributors, and 'undesirable assets', Val returned home and pursued a career in construction. After a few years of self-examination, he pursued a career in architecture, eventually opening his own firm in 1975 before retiring to New York City in 2000. In 2004, his wife and child were murdered on a lonely street of after a failed mugging turned violent; Val hunted the criminals and gunned them down the same way his family had been slaughtered. From there, he became a vigilante at night, chasing down bad guys all over New York whilst on business during the day; it all escalated into a botched bank robbery that left his partners dead and him on the run, hoping to break out north before he could be caught.
