Race: Lightling. A Lightling is a humanoid creature, created when lightning passes through a rainbow and strikes the ground, causing a flash of briliant white light of the purest kind. When the light clears a baby is left in it's place. Most Lightlings will be found by their own people, but on rare occasions they have been found by passing mortals and raised amongst them, never realizing their true heratige and abilities. Lightlings do not posses a beating heart, and it is said that they are not capable of love, but this has never been proven. Instead of a heart, Lightlings have instead a small orb of white light that resides in their chest. This light is from the very lightning that birthed the Lightling, and it provides it with life. It burns brightly enough to illuminate the chest of a Lightling in broad daylight. The lifespan of a Lightling can last several hundred years, as a Lightling can not die of natural causes. If the Lightling's life light is severed or removed from it's chest through injury, the Lightling dies.
These creatures draw energy from any light source but still require small amounts of food and water.

Appearance: Catori is lean and limber at 5 foot 8 inches with subtly toned muscles. Her skin, like most Lightlings, is naturally tanned and can easily be described as golden. Her hands are nimble, with long, agile fingers perfect for plucking a bowstring or tying knots and she has slender feet that are used to running. Her figure is modestly curved rather than weedy. Catori has a gently angled face with slanting cheekbones and large, unnaturally light amber eyes that are only a few shades darker than her waist length white-gold hair. Her eyelashes are long and light, and her eyebrows are the same shade as her hair and slant slightly, giving her a clever, cunning look. Her nose is strait, curving up impishly at the tip and her ears resemble that of an elf's.
Catori's attire consists of a rough spun long sleeved green tunic paired with a brown, corseted vest that fall to four inches above the knee. Instead of a skirt, she wears form-fitted brown leggings made of a flexible material that allows for easy movement. Her worn leather boots are brown and lace up to just below her knee. The sleeves of her tunic are tied above the elbow with strips of brown leather.
Personality: Catori's body is almost as quick as her mind and her tongue. She is very cunning and uses her mind rather than a weapon to sway people to her side, and is very strong willed and firm in her beliefs, and will fight for them. Clever and cunning as she is, she is still kind hearted by nature and is always aware of the innocents in a situation. She puts those in her protection first and can be a very powerful ally, but those who wrong the helpless will find her a formidable foe.
Weapons: Catori favors a bow as it is a very refined weapon, along with a plain silver dagger attached to her belt for sticky situations.
Abilities: Like all Lightlings, Catori has the ability to fly without the aid of wings. She can manipulate lightning, but only in a storm, and can control light from any source. She also has a strong grasp on magic, which is not uncommon. Due to her light nature, however, she is very vulnerable to dark magic, and nighttime weakens her. Her senses and strength are all enhanced.
Bio: Born from lightning, Catori was quickly found by a Lightling elder and trained in the old ways. She learned quickly that one must be cunning and knowledgable to survive in Purplexia, and watched from the safety of the forests as the ones graced with high status quarreled and played their games, learning all the while. By the time she was sixteen she had deduced that the Queen and her self proclaimed Lord were not the saints the loyal subjects thought they were. She stayed amongst the outskirts for the next three years, watching each move the monarchs made, waiting for the right time time make her voice heard.
