Piper rubbed his shoulder. "Just let her go. " She looked at him sadly. "We can start the family you want, and not have all the emotional baggage with it." She smiled, running her hand through his hair.
The medics ran up the stairs, putting Tristen on a gurney, and carrying her out to the ambulance. Kendra rode with her, and when they got there sat in the waiting room, crying. The thought to call Kyle or Tyler never passed her mind. She was too frightened. Too scared she had just lost her daughter's life because of her own stupidity.
The doctor came out soon later, and shook his head. "She's barely stable. She's lost a lot of blood. Tell me, Mrs. Martins-"
Kendra held up her hand. "I'm not Mrs. Martins.."
The doctor looked at her confused. "It says here you are." He showed her the paperwork. It was signed by a Mrs. Kendra Martins. She shook her head. "I've never been married.."
The doctor shrugged. "We'll talk about that later. Tristen is low on blood supply. She's a rare type. Type O Negative. Does she have a family member who can donate?"
Kendra's eyes grew.
Tyler was the only type O Negative she knew. She dialed his number, nodding to the doctor as he went back to Tristen. She went outside in the parking lot, on the sidewalk to the hospital.
