XXXXThe medical field found their newest money maker with the drug "Gaudium". With the rise of mental disorders and physical conditions this was the pill to cure it all. Test subjects given Gaudium improved in their conditions quickly. Taking the pill seemed to cure all defects. Veterans with severe PTSD were able to continue with their lives as if war had never been apart of their history. Cancer patients were able to stop treatment and return to the healthy state they were in before. Scientist saw virtually no downside with this drug.
XXXXOnce introduced to the public a pill popping revolution was sparked. Everyone took the drug either to cure the simplest thing from a stomach ache to HIV. The demand for the infamous drug sky rocketed to outlandish proportions. Soon everyone was hooked. Those who took Gaudium were stuck in a content phase as long as they took the drug. No foul mood to reprehend them. People saw this as wonderful. Government saw this as an opportunity.
XXXXGaudium was tampered with by politicians who saw a chance to make citizens obedient. Citizens mindlessly followed the orders of the government. Working obscene hours and committing heinous acts - all while smiling. The cycle continued for years. All people took their pills in the morning and went throughout the day doing the biding of the higher ups.
Scientist monitored all people's vitals carefully to ensure the taking of Gaudium. Yet even with the force of people the government held, they couldn't monitor everyone. There was a rarity in which people were immune to Gaudium. These people stayed under the radar of the ever watchful eyes of the government. If discovered it was unknown what would happen to them. They could only expect the worse. So on the sidelines they watched as people continued to destroy the world without knowing. That was until each of these people were sought out with a small letter under their door. To meet at Smiles - the local pub - in the backroom. The letter was short lived, but it spoke of change. And for those who are immune even the idea was enough to make them leave their homes at night.

Also, this is not a first come, first serve role-play and you might have to compete for your spot should another person show interest. I have chosen these FC's because of the fact they are not widely seen, I will only change it if I see fit.

Not only will I be looking for details in your character sheet, but proper grammar and spelling as well. This role-play is to be literate, meaning posts are to be kept at a minimum of 300+ words.. Now, I know we are not perfect and we all make mistakes but if you cannot use a proper spell check, it will reflect within your character sheet! So please, be at least semi-literate with the capability to post at minimum one hundred words.

I am aware that we all have lives outside of role-playing and our computer screens. Some of us either attend school or have a full-time job, sometimes both. All I ask is that you post at least twice a week. If, for any reason, you find yourself unable to post for x-amount of time, please notify me. I do not bite, I do not get angry, however; should you fail to notify me of your departure, I will boot you out of the role-play. I am also aware that some of us may be in other role-plays, and I understand those come first. Notification of departure and how much time you'll be gone is all I ask for. God-modding, bunnying, and meta-gaming are strictly prohibited. God-modding is defined as cheating the system so your character is virtually invincible. This is similar to the term "mary-sue" or "gary-sue" in a way. God-modding usually involves a character leaving a battle unscathed. This also includes unapproved hits and/or kills. Bunnying is the use of another character, who is neither your own nor an NPC, without the permission of the character's owner. When your character is attacking, assume each hit misses. When your character is defending, make sure to allow a believable amount of punches/kicks/etc. to hit your character. The term meta-gaming refers to accidentally or purposely using outside knowledge that affects the role-play. For example, if your character knows of a sneak-attack, yet wasn't present at the discussion of it, then it is improbable and considered meta-gaming
