Description- James Costner is a tall man who is quietly intense yet has a tendency to blend into a crowd. He is 47 years old. He often wears a heavy coat and an eyepatch.

He is in good physical condition but his body isn’t what it was due to age and his time under confederate hospitality.

Personality- James Costner was once a relatively happy go unlucky individual considering his career choice of Bodyguard these days though he is a quiet man with a intensity the perceptive notice immediately. He is very focused and driven.

Equipment- Costner carries a New world revolver he uses for close quarters and a Old World Lever action Rifle for distance shooting. He is reasonably accurate with both. He carries a Confederate Army Trench Knife in his boot which he is very skilled at using thanks to his military background.

History- James is originally from the Flats and spent his youth as a Sky Pirate. However he found himself in the Peaks and realised a life of soldiering appealed to him. He fought for the Confederacy in their war against the Tanu and was recruited into the Specials before retiring. He got a payout from the Army but it wasn’t enough to retire on. He got involved in Body guarding work after getting in touch with a few war buddies and eventually found his way into the employ of Cal Reese the father of Jenner Reese.

Over the years Costner became a permanent part of Reese family life while other Body guards seemed to come and go James stayed on. He was closest to Jenner as he shared her feelings of not fitting in. When she ran away he felt partially responsible as he wondered if his tales from his days on the Flats had put the notion in her head.

Cal eventually had her recovered and put James in charge of her retrieval. James brought her back to the Peaks where Jenner and Cal where attacked. James was able to save Jenner and get her back to the Flats where he served her while she worked with the White Group.

Unfortunately James was captured by the confederates and sent to the brutal Igur penal mine where he has supposedly been for the past ten years.

Probably not I mean you’re smart people you don't subtitle a character "the mystery" and have him be just some guy.
