Description-

Dark blue eyes, a strong jaw, short black hair with faint red highlights, and a devil’s smile are Marin’s most eye-catching features. The only blemish on his face is a thick half-inch scar on his left cheek.
Marin has a strong build at 6’0”, with broad shoulders and lean musculature from constant training.

His taste in clothing consists of vests, button-up shirts, decorative jackets and well-ironed pants. Black is often the dominant color in his wardrobe, but he enjoys wearing red, orange, purple, and gold in equal measure. However, he doesn't like to dirty his clothes and as such he takes into account what type of task he is assigned and adjusts his wardrobe accordingly. When dressed formally, Marin typically carries a silver-headed black cane.

Personality-

Marin possess the vanity of a cat, when he isn’t occupied with staring into the nearest reflective surface, he is busy exercising and honing his fighting skills. He concerns himself greatly with his exterior appearance and takes others opinions about it very personally. Marin tends to be more of a loner than a social person; having a preference to spend more time practicing with his weapons than interacting with other people. His years of being an orphan, pirate and drifter have made him sneaky; he often hoards random objects and will readily steal something if it happens to catch his eye.

When Marin does interact with people, he has a tendency to be confrontational; and will readily give his opinion to anyone willing to listen and rarely cares who is offended or hurt by it. He has been known to start fights at the drop of a hat; and his affinity for alcohol and other vices certainly hasn’t helped his already short temper. Marin is particularly touchy when it comes to comments about his drinking.

While a good mood may be rare, Marin does have the ability to be rather charming when he wants to be, though his patience tends to run thin rather quickly. When he does become upset or irritated he will clench his jaw, creating a noticeable twitch in his cheek. If the annoyance continues, Marin tends to resort to violence to settle the issue.

He can also be a devious prankster and will gladly drag anyone into his antics given the chance.

Quirks-

Mild allergy to gluten. Infrequent panic attacks that he has been able to hide so far. Marin uses alcohol to escape, resulting in a dependence on the substance. He has an aversion to hurting the innocent and will try his best to avoid causing collateral damage on an assignment. Marin has a hollow tooth.

History-

Marin has always refused to reveal anything about his childhood. His life as far as he is concerned, started at fourteen when he joined a crew of the airship Scarlet Hunter. Marin immediately took to pirating; soaring through the clouds gave him a sense of freedom and power that he had never before experienced. Even though he started at the bottom of the pecking order, Marin proved to be a quick study when it came to fighting, which caused the first mate of the ship, Blair to become suspicious and question his claim of not having any previous training. The captain never agreed with his second in command’s suspicions, having taken the young Marin off the streets himself, the captain felt protective towards the youth. Several years passed and Marin settled into a life of constant excitement and adventure, he easily made friends with his shipmates and other pirates, though he never quite got along with Blair.

Then the Flats war broke out and the scarlet hunter leapt right into the thick of it. Marin made a name for himself during the course of the war and became well known for his skill in battle. During one particular battle, Marin sustained a gunshot wound to the mouth, with the bullet shattering the majority of his teeth on the left side of his mouth before exiting through his cheek. Another blow to the morale of the crew was the death of their first mate in the same battle. The war was long and brutal, many good people died right along with the bad.

By the conclusion of it, Marin was ready to try something new; he turned down the position of first mate on the Scarlet, choosing to drift among airships. He spent some time in New Mesa, getting in and out of trouble, learning the ways of the upper and lower class. Eventually he was found and recruited by the White Group, whom he works for currently.
