ImageAppearance: if you ask her grandfather, Hazel is the prettiest thing to ever cross the wasteland, but she'd say he was a little biased. Besides she thinks her little sister Lucy is much cuter. Hazel is a petite young woman just a little over 5'2, she doesn't have much meat on her bones either. There have been times where she has been confused for a boy from behind. Not that she's worried how she looks, when your in the type of work she is you don't worry much about what people think of your looks. Digging through piles of junk to find something that might catch a profit you don't need to be weighed down by too much. She typically wears slacks, a tank top and the most sturdy boots she can manage to dig up.

Now Hazel has managed to figure out that she has so features that stand out. First off is her hair, it is a mess of long red hair that she usually just ties back with whatever works and is handy. She has a pair of pale green eyes that can often be found behind a pair of old aviator goggles. This saves her eyes from the sparks given off by the welder she uses almost every day. This tool also often leaves splotches of soot all over her skin and clothes. Not that many people worry about how dirty their clothes are. She does her best to look presentable enough for customers

Armor: When Hazel does leave the shop and go out into the wastes, she wears a very light armor that she's made herself. A mish mash of leather, and old metal she's welded together. She wears enough to keep herself protected but it's not much in a heavy fight. But she does try to manage to stay out of those situations.

Personality:

Hazel is an independent young woman who tries to take things as easily as she can. Now this isn't saying she's a lazy person but, more so she's emotionally easy going. She does her best to keep a positive attitude despite the situation put in front of her. She feels a great responsibility towards her four year old sister. Hazel does her best to make the little girl happy as often as humanly possible. She feels lucky to have the little girl around, she remembers being very lonely when she was younger. When Lucy came around it was like a little ray of sunshine. Being only seventeen when her father came home with a baby after one of his many junking trips into the wastes. She had a big responsibility basically being a mother to the child, especially with their father being gone for extended periods of time.

Now nobody's perfect, and Hazel is no exception to the rule. She can have a bit of a temper, especially with people who she feels is being unreasonable. She doesn't understand people who think of themselves above everyone else. Selfishness, or just flat out getting made over something trivial, typically makes her angry which isn't a pretty sight. Another thing is her very protective nature over her sister, she realizes the world isn't an easy place to live in. She wants Lucy to have that spark of innocence as long as possible. Her greatest joy is seeing the little girl's eyes light up at the simplest things and she cherishes those moments. So if anyone were to date to threaten Lucy or anybody she cared about would feel the bulk of her wrath. She would giver life for her family.

History:

Hazel's story starts like many others in the wastes, a couple of people hook up maybe they might love each other or in most cases they just need a little company for a while especially in the case of Will Jericho, Hazel's father. He was the type of man not to stay in one place too long, but when he hooked up with Virginia Mayweather it was meant to be temporary. He just needed a place to hang up his coat while he tried to sell his wares in the market place. You see at this time the junk shop was just an idea sort of gnawing at the back of Will's mind. It really wasn't practical at the time and he was enjoying his freedom, traveling from cities to towns, picking up what he could carry in between and selling it where he stopped. Anyway back to the point Virginia was willing to put him up in her little shack then one thing led to another and Hazel was the result. Even though the only connection he had with the woman was a bun in the oven, being the type of man he is he stuck around to try to help Virginia as much as he could.

Hazel's early years were spent playing in dust on the floor of the make shift shop he built. He did anything from making armor for people, to gun maintenance, repairing work equipment, just as long as it made caps and put food in Virginia and Hazel's mouths. Hazel's memories of her mother have always been a little fuzzy because when Hazel was about three and half Virginia got very sick. The doc in town really didn't know what was ailing her, they assumed it had something to do with radiation. Either way she didn't live long after that, that left Will with a very young child and no mother to look after her. Needless to say he was kind of a fix, in fact the past few years had brought him and Virginia together and losing her broke his heart. The only thing Will could think of was to head back to where he grew up.

L-Mart was far from the size of the town that he had lived in with Virginia, but his father was there. His father had long since hung up his boots being a junk collector himself. Since the loss of his own wife and his son going off to make something of himself Herb Jericho had buried himself in junk and booze. Needless to say the last thing he expected was opening his door to his son, and wild red haired little girl. Will explained the situation and Herb found his stock pile was now being cleared out to make room for two more. This as when, Will decided to put that old notion of a junk shop to the front of his mind. Using the old brahim stalls his father had used to store the beasts that once pulled his buggy, he made Jericho's Junk. Much bigger than he had done before, he stocked the store with some of the stuff his father had hordes, however knowing it wouldn't last forever he started to make plans for his father to look after Hazel when he went out junking. The first step was sobering Herb up of course, the other was making a name for himself in his hometown.

So that's how Hazel grew up, with a drunk and a workaholic, but this can be turned into a positive right? She certainly learned how to fend for herself very quickly, and her father was more than willing to teach her how to do everything from fixing up an old pair of boots to cleaning a gun till it worked better than it ever had before. She was never a stranger to work and some of her happiest memories were of working with her father. When she was thirteen she started earning extra caps mucking out the brahim stables. Then as she grew older she got to the point where her father would let her run the shop while he went out in the wastes. One time, not long after her seventeenth birthday he came home with more than just a load of junk. A baby wrapped up in an old dingy blanket, a baby girl to be exact. He said he'd found her, just left in pile of junk screaming like a banshee. Hazel didn't care what, circumstances surrounding him bringing the baby home. The little face that looked up and smiled was just adorable.

The next few years were spent bringing up, the little baby that Hazel named Lucy. Trying to give her adopted little sister a better childhood than she had. It was around this time business started getting slow for one reason or another. Maybe it was people in town were just flat out scrapped for caps themselves, or that they were just tired of seeing the same old things show up in the shop. Either way Will was beginning to grow desperate, he had heard of the Chicaghoul ruins and knew the dangers that were there. But he had to take care of his girls, he knew that Hazel was very capable with keeping up with the shop and Lucy so he made the decision. Packing up an old radiation suit, taking a brahim pulling his father's old buggy, and kissing his girls goodbye, he decided to tempt fate. That was nearly a year ago, and Hazel has done he best to try to keep the shop going in her father's absence. It hasn't been easy, and Hazel has to resort in going out and collecting things herself. She does her best to stay out of trouble, so she can come home safely to Lucy, but that's not always possible. Hazel has never given up hope that her father is still alive, and has actually got into fights with locals who have tried to comfort her about the "loss" of her father. As of right now she just concentrates on taking care of the shop and Lucy.
