Vance stared vacantly at the rotting horizon before him. He knew he had just let down his faction by leaving them to themselves while they quarreled. But, he had matters to assess in his own mind without anyone's interruption.
"Elei'mei," he muttered. "An alien. With so much more knowledge than we put together."
Vance could not help but chuckle. They had been matched with their knowledge. He was beginning to realize how little they actually knew. He wondered if there were even records of other planets in Lado, but were destroyed before they could have even been found. Annoyance began to fumble in Vance's head. If that were so, they would not be so ignorant now, brawling with each other clinging to the last bits of a planet they call home. There was nothing left for them here. He thought long and hard of Eshara. Perhaps it wouldn't be wise to destroy another planet, but to annihilate the human race again would be something. Or perhaps conquer them would provide a better form of entertainment for his faction rather than live this lonely life. Kaine had mastered the idea of teleportation. Vance had only practiced it once himself when he was alone. He never spoke of the new power to his faction until he learned more of it. But they were pressed for time, and he had no choice but to inform his faction of the events to unfold so suddenly. Elei'mei would be a great asset to the faction. Her knowledge was the key to their success. However, would this foreigner get in their way of destroying the humans? The being seemed more conscientious than themselves. More noble. It was a risk he was willing to take. As he decided to trust the Aduro, he also decided he was to size the creature up. For if Elei'mei were to get in their way, he would have to destroy her.
Vance paced the corridors of the broken castle hastily. His thoughts ran around in circles like a carousel. He could hear the echoes of the throne room run down the halls bouncing off walls of arguing. Making up his mind, he decided what his next move was. He made his way back to the throne room his thoughts directed at Elei'mei. At his return he first stood silently assessing the room, glancing at everyone's face. Then he smiled warmly at Elei'mei folding his hands behind his back.
"Elei'mei, I have a proposal for you." he began. "How would you like to join us in our faction?"
He sprung the question without hesitance and knew it would cause even more quarrel amongst his comrades, but this did not concern him right now. He would deal with them soon and put them all back in their place and remind them of who is in charge here.
