Oddly enough, I got this idea from watching the cartoon - Hotel Transylvania. However, with the help of my lovely co-gm's this roleplay morphed and changed into something completely different. [/url]

ruthless acts bring dreadful screams,
hopeless lives in empty bliss,
deathly wish through serpent's kiss,
Questions lost to answers found,
secrets sold the world around,
dark and cold encompass light,
grounded souls in search of flight,
Strong defended by the weak,
gods abandoned by the meek,
all to have but none to give,
long of life but not to live.
- The Cursed -
The War was fought between two Families, each a mix of different supernatural creatures and each cursed over a thousand years ago. However, they both wished to resolve their conflict that involved fighting over land, power, but most of all, if they should reveal themselves to man kind, or stay within the shadows of the night. And, as all quarrels do, it was all started with a simple argument. The Lancasters were the strongest, as well as the largest, of the royal families in this society. To be expected, their name held wealth and quivering respect by the the general populace... all expect for the d'Lune family, the rival to everything Lancasters stood for.
These two families had fought for ages, arguing back and forth, until their quibbles began to become aggressive. However, nothing was too serious.....until that day. In their blinded rage, the two branches lashed out at one another with the payment being the lives of two infants, one from each household. A white Witch who lived under the rule of the two families, the dubbed "Protector of the Land", was outraged at the loss of such innocent lives. And so, to teach the warring houses a lesson, she cursed them to forever be monsters of the night. Each family member was transformed into the beast they were most like...and, as it was set in stone, there was never any chance of reversal. Or so they believed...
As this disagreement tore a rift within the castle's grounds and the residents that dwelled there, it became evident this was not to be solved through discussion. With spite swirling in their hearts, the house of d'Lune were the first to strike on the snowy night of December 2nd, blood staining the manor's slate russet. The one to fall was the monarch of the Lancasters, a harshly delivered message in which only one understanding could be extracted; bow to our wishes or bathe with the scarlet of your kin.
Refusing to watch his father perish, the Eldest son of the Lancasters took it upon himself to cheat fate; holding a knife to the throat of his enemy's wife, it was demanded that all weapons were to be dropped. Wishing for no harm to come to the love of his life, the patriarch of d'Lune, foolishly, abided...only to have his head hacked off two seconds later. Left leaderless and in a state of grief induced devastation, the d'Lune family ended up complying with the other's wishes; any ideas of rebellion were stored away and they were to keep to a separate wing of the stone walls. At that point in time, everything was left to peace...unfortunately, fate has a sadistic way of reappearing in lives.
After half a century passed, the sole head of the Lancaster branch began to have his heart fill with dread as nightmares of the Eldest Daughter rising to power haunted the night hours. Terrified these very visions would become the truth,it was determined that there was a single solution; find a way to tie the bloodlines, effectively sewing the rift. Forcibly demanding the monarch of the losing family for the abidement to his plans, the King set to work on crafting the "perfect" future. Bestowing the marriage hand of the sole d'Lune heir to his son, this was the solution to quelling the impending rebellion and any power right the girl was to be given in the future.
Crafting a new rule to work in his favour, to further defy the d'Lunes of redemption, no one could predict that it was to work against the society's all exclusive membership to the night. If no one was to claim these three souls as their own, to have their hand in marriage, they were to be annihilated…Taking it upon themselves to spare their homestead of any more spilt vermillion, the middle and youngest members of the enemy families came to a decision of their own; accept the new conditions and claim the humans. However, one can't help but wonder…would "peace" resumed if those three innocent souls simply perished?
