Standing at six feet and eleven inches in height - almost a staggering seven feet - Jerome is quite slender in figure, though his muscles are lean and toned and simply lack bulk. With long arms and long legs, one might almost consider him lanky if not for the resounding grace and elegance with which he carries himself. His skin is a light olive tone of colour, and he has long, slender, pointed ears due to his elven blood. He keeps his straight, strawberry-blond hair at approximately chin-length, and always parted on the right side. He has slightly narrow eyes that are a pale green colour, almost a peridot colour, and he has low, slightly arching brows above them. His nose is pointed and has a bit of a crook in it where it was obviously broken once before, though it's not terribly noticeable unless you're up close to his face. He has wide, narrow lips that seem to be eternally curled into a smirk. Across his right cheek, he has a scar. He always dresses quite nicely, wearing fine suits, expensive leathers, and elaborate furs, depending on the occasion and the weather. He has a tattoo of a rose and a clock over his heart.
Jerome is a sly, cunning individual with little regard for the well-being of others. He is quite selfish, only caring about himself, and will quite readily sacrifice others - both literally and figuratively, both in life and in reputation - in order to achieve his goals. Jerome values wealth above all else, and will often resort to shady business practices in order to achieve his goals. He's a bit of a flirt, frequently eyeing up beautiful women and making crude remarks, though he'll rarely actually try anything with them. He is quite haughty and snide and views himself as much better than other people. Jerome is manipulative and highly intelligent, and will happily use others to his own ends. Jerome does have a soft spot for romance, however, though he works hard to avoid ever finding himself in a position where others can learn this about him and use it against him.
Jerome was born into vast amounts of wealth, with a father who owned many businesses across the kingdom and a mother who worked as a highly reputable lawyer. He was an only child, and accustomed to only the finest things in life. He received a fine education, and when he was nineteen years old, his father passed on the first of his businesses to him. Jerome quickly showed an apt mind for business, with the company reporting its highest numbers in years after only the first year of Jerome's ownership. His father was proud, especially since Jerome continued to finish his university-level schooling while running the business.
Jerome was twenty-two when he met Cécilie Gaudreau, who had just started a secretarial job at one of his father's businesses. He fell in love with her almost instantly, and worked hard for months to woo the beautiful blonde. He was successful in the end, and they fell passionately in love, but their relationship was doomed from the start: Cécilie was betrothed to another man, in what was to be a marriage that had been arranged at birth. Her parents had given her permission to focus on her schooling and career for a few years before marrying, since her betrothed was doing the same, but Cécilie knew she could never be with Jerome. They had a brief romance and Cécilie gave Jerome her virginity, but afterwards, she insisted that she didn't want to see Jerome any more, worried that it would be too painful when the time came for her to leave and marry. Jerome reluctantly agreed to her wishes.
For many years, Jerome operated his business. Every now and then, as his father grew older, another business would be handed down and Jerome would take over. When Jerome was twenty-nine years old, his father passed away, and the rest of his father's businesses and companies were his to inherit. Jerome managed them with ease. As the years had progressed, he had become much colder and more ruthless than he was when he'd started out, as he'd realized that you couldn't truly get to the top without stepping on a few heads. Jerome didn't even shed a tear at his father's funeral for, though he had loved him, he had grown cold and desensitized to the loss. Two years after his father's death, however, Jerome received word of Cécilie's death. She had died giving birth to her first child, apparently after many years of struggling to conceive, and though it had been almost a decade since their romance, the news hit him hard. Jerome traveled to the city where she had lived with her husband and he visited her grave site, leaving a bouquet of red roses and a prayer for her well-being.
Jerome owns a home on Veritas Isle called Dawcombe House, where he lives periodically when business in the area calls on him. Most recently, he's been staying in his island home to attend to a lawsuit pressed against him by a group of employees working for one of his businesses, accusing him of fraudulent activities and embezzling company funds. Though he was being defended by the De Larousse Law firm, he and the owner have recently had a disagreement that led to Jerome being dropped as a client, leaving him without a lawyer for the time being and in need of defense. Jerome, however, is unconcerned, and certain that if he cannot win back the business of Bastian De Larousse, he can easily find a new lawyer. He is staying on the islands until the lawsuit is handled.
